Nice location as there is a mall across the street. However, as a 5-star hotel they claim to be, room service was delivered in takeout bags with plastic containers. I was insulted by this. Also, arrived on May 13, two days after the goverment issued orders that non-vaccinated people cannot go inside restaurants or any indoor business. I found out about that while checking in and was horrified to learn i would have to stay in my room. Therefore, went bact to Riyadh after 2 days, cutting my trip by 2 days. This coincided with the Eid holiday after Ramadan that started on the 13th. The Bahrain ministry of health must have realized how many people were coming in and put on the brakes to prevent a spike. So I only saw the lobby and my room.

Great staff, excellent restaurants and cigar lounge. The Gulf Hotel is the only hotel i stay in Manama!

Been coming here for twenty years and it is more disappointing each time. Leaks in the bathroom ceiling, empty mini bar, one bath towel for two guests, living room sconces loose and hanging at an angle, bathroom vanity mirror falling off the wall, sink doesn’t drain, room service brought once set of utensils and one napkin for diners and didn’t bring salt/pepper/water - that took three phone calls. The iron is broke. And the plug has exposed electrical wiring. Just overall poor management and maintenance and it is difficult to convey that to a staff with poor English and Arabic skills. Afraid I won’t be back.

Close to shops and hotels has a lot of places to eat

Had to wait 20 min till the front desk 'confirmed' our confirmation number. As a gratitude for our patience, we were then offered a slightly larger room with a king size bed, which was pretty much what I thought I paid for anyways. Hotel shows signs of ageing. The wood in the room shows signs of distress. Even the hallway can use a coat of paint. The food experience at the pool was not pleasant. One hour wait and then the food arrived cold.

A consistently great hotel with superb service and comfortable rooms.

Staff is excellent, restaurants outstanding - this is one of my favorite hotels. The cigar bar, lobby, location are all perfect!

Usually stay at Intercontinental. Stay here was anything but usual. Telephone did not work, shower head busted, AC loud, and room service was simply awful - no utensils, cold coffee, and while waiting for a knife and fork, ice cold entree. Manager smiled while being informed of my experience and said he hoped to see me soon.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your valuable feedback about your recent stay at the Gulf Hotel Bahrain. First of all, we would like to apologize for falling short of your expectations for the maintenance, pool service and check-in experience. I am sorry that you have left with a poor impression of the hotel service. This is not the level of service that an establishment like us provides, and I assure you that this is not the standard we hold ourselves to. Your feedback has been highlighted to the related departments concerned. We are doing all we can to provide better stay experiences and service quality. Once again, thank you for the feedback and hopefully we will be able to host you again in the near future and remain in the meantime with kind regards. Sincerely, Ilham Elhore / Guest Relations Manager
