We would definitely rent this well cared for unit again. This is a remodeled Mammoth property, which is typical for the area. It is not a newly built modern property. If you know that and tailor your expectations, you will appreciate the rustic charm of "Mammoth" properties and you will be very pleased with this very neat, clean and well done condo.
Check-in and Management
Call ahead for instructions for check-in, which was simple even though we arrived at 11pm. We didn't need anything further during our stay.
Parking is outside, but the lot is large, you park right next to your front door. The map on arrival could have been better., but we found the unit easily.
The Unit
Kitchen is nice, but not perfect - the coffee maker doesn't turn off automatically, the eating utensils are flimsy, no dishwasher soap, stove is right up against the wall. These things are not terrible, but now that you know, they won't bother you! Nice big fridge, stove, oven and microwave work well, great assortment of bowls dishes, pots and pans, crock pot, electric mixer, toaster. Bathrooms are clean and nice, though mirrors are hung too low. Water pressure is not great, but that's Mammoth. Beds are comfortable. Light switches for the living room and dining room are on the back of the support post and hard to find. Unit has very comfortable and attractive furniture, not the Ritz, but clean, comfy and with effort to look attractive. One wall light fixture in the bedroom was broken, but worked. Light fixtures in the bedroom were not optimal. Individual wall heaters throughout the unit (again, typical for Mammoth), get them set to the right (low) setting so you don't sweat to death! Great assortment of board/family games.
UNIT OWNERS - please leave the WI-FI Code written down for the guests. Fortunately, we know how to locate it --it is on the label on the bottom of the router in the cabinet under the TV, but not everyone is going to know how to find it.
Proximity to Slopes
There is a small amount of walking, but less than you would do if you parked in a large lot at most ski areas. From the unit, go back through the main building and down the stairs (or elevator) and exit out the parking garage, cross the street towards the Canyon lodge and ski down to the lodge or lifts. On the way home, take Chair 8 up and at the end of Blue Jay, turn right and ski to the top of that same road and walk downhill back to 1849 condos (about 200 yds). Very short walk.
