Great location in the heart of Mammoth. Check-in was very easy, property was clean upon arrival, and walking distance from many restaurants and grocery store.
Stayed here 3 nights for a quick ski trip. The condo was very nice and well-kept. It is perfect for a family of 4 but is a little small for 4 adults in my opinion. Location was great with grocery stores and restaurants within easy walking distance. Directly across the street is a stop for the Red line that will take you to the Main lodge for skiing or to the village for a nice night out. On the corner less than 2 minutes away is a stop for the green line that will take you to Eagle lodge which will get you to the slopes a little quicker. Basically once you are there you do not need your car for anything. The only negative thing I would say about it is that the bedroom window needs a black out curtain because the blinds don't keep the light out once the sun rises. Other than that, was very nice and I will definitely stay there again next time I visit.
Great location. Comfortable for two people. Place is small but cozy. Walls are thin you can hear neighbors next door and above but wasn’t a huge issue. Complex was pretty quiet. Great wood burning fireplace! Renters only provide a small amount of firewood so keep that in mind. We had to buy a few extra bundles to get us through a few nights. Also noticed they didn’t have any fire place tools to handle the fire and wood. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
It was beautiful! There were only a few minor issues. The floor of the closet had debris. It appeared to have been missed in the cleanup. The couch was not comfortable for my boyfriend. A few pieces of furniture were lightweight. The walls and ceiling are thin so you hear could hear what was going on above & beside us but luckily it was nothing late into the night or early in the day. Overall it was a great stay!!!
Check in process fine. Unit was filthy. There was a huge hole in the door to the bedroom we saw the minute we checked in. I reported it and they immediately asked if we could send a picture of the damage. (We did send pics of all issues) Went to go to sleep first night to find dirt and hairs all over the bed. Fortunately found an extra set of sheets. Went to change sheets and found a pee-stained mattress pad which we removed prior to going to sleep. Next morning getting ready to go out to find that the bathroom sink doesn't drain. Tried contacting Grand Welcome who gave us lip service the entire time we were renting and NEVER did anything to clean or rectify the issue. They told us they would send a cleaning crew over and never did.One of the hot tubs on the property did not work at all. Fortunately there are more than one. The unit itself fronts to Old Mammoth Road so no views except the restaurant across the street and lots of road noise. After numerous email complaints while there and after we got home Grand Welcome gave us a 60 refund on a 5 day rental! We would have preferred to actually receive customer service (clean sheets, mattress pad, drains that work etc.) as promised that never happened instead of a paltry refund. If you want to rent a unit where you get no service if required and want AI Chat Bots to respond to your emails this is the company! I will be very careful going forward to not rent from this company.

Liked: Check-in, location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Cleanliness, communication
Avoid this unit. Place is comfortable, nicely updated, but when I checked in there was a horrible, intense disinfectant smell. It was hard to breathe. I immediately reached out to both grand welcome management and VRBO to let them know the stench made the place uninhabitable, and I was staying for the week. VRBO said it was up to GW to move me. GW sent over a property manager who immediately confirmed the intense smell. She mopped which helped a bit, and said that if I left the windows open the smell would dissipate over the next day. When I woke the next morning, it was still really bad. When I returned at 3pm I called GW, told them the problem had not gone away and it would probably force me to move from the unit. I asked if they could look through their empty places to move me (mid-week in early December with poor snow, so virtually every place in Mammoth Lakes was available, plus rates are low). I did not want to have to move so I mopped multiple times and left for an event. When I came back at 6pm the unit still smelled as bad as ever. GW said that they would not move me, and that further there was no guarantee of a refund if I left. I found another place on a competitor and was out by 7:30pm. GW has thus far only refunded half the cleaning deposit and none of the room fees despite confirming the place stank. I am disputing the charges through my credit card, per VRBO instructions. I'd avoid GW (and this unit) until they fix the problem and their customer service.
