We stayed in this hotel for 3 days in middle of March. We had a sea view room, that is a must if you want to wake up with the sun shining over the sea and to enjoy a instant coffee or tea. The room had a water boiler and some tea and coffee for the morning. Nice. A problem can be the water pressure, we stayed at the 5th floor and the shower was more a joke. An other issue was that we do not had small towels in the room, but we survived with the big ones. Breakfast was ok, for the price we paid it was ok. Forgot to tell, very well positioned, exactly in a bus stop and 6-8 minutes walk till Sliema ferry.
Came for weekend trip with a group. Got room with no view, facing wall and backyard with bad smell. Had to pay additionally to upgrade to normal view. Rooms clean, but needs renovation. Breakfast menu was the same all mornings.
Spentthree nights at the Hotel for my birthday. The room was clean and comfortable with the biggest bed I have seen. Unfortunately while we were out a water pipe had burst above our room and water was cascading down the wall through the window frame and onto the bed and floor. We contacted reception - very slow in responding. A young man arrived with towels but the water was everywhere. There was no way we could sleep in the room. After a long time we were eventually given the key to a room on a lower floor for the night. The hotel is however very convienently situated, opposite the seafront and very close to the bus stop. There is also a roof terrace
We didn’t reserve a room with sea view but we got it anyway! It was nice view and room overall. We had problem with our door, one night we couldn’t lock or closed the door i asked the staff in the night and he said we have to wait until the next morning. So we slept one night with “open door” 😒
Good 3 star hotel, we were unsure as what to expect but the staff are friend and helpful. The rooms are basic but we just wanted somewhere central to stay. We hired a fridge for the week (€2.5 per day). Rooms are cleaned daily with fresh towels etc. It’s a very good spot also to use the public transport which we purchased a seven day pass for only €21 and that gives you unlimited travel on the buses which run frequently.
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to visit hotel as my flight to Malta has been cancelled because of extremely heavy snowfall in UK (which happens once every 20 years…). I’ve contacted hotel 10 minutes after cancellation to give them time to rent my room someone else ,as it was booked for 3 nights. By my agent I also asked them if they can refund me part of payment or rebook a room in different time (when hotel is not busy). The answer was NO in both cases, but an agent advised me to contact hotel once again personally. I’ve sent them two e-mails with accurate description of situation and I kindly asked once again if they can consider my case as it’s very unusual accident, which wasn’t my fault at all… And in 10 minutes I’ve lost savings and chance to go on holiday… Hotel ignored both my e-mails , got money from my account and even didn’t try to negotiate or help somehow….
Spent 5 nights here, February 2018in small single room at back of hotel. Room cleaned every day, nice towels. You get what you pay for, enjoyed my stay. Breakfast excellent, good choice, nice Staff. One gripe...looked at actual pillow underneath pillowcase, very stained and dirty, slept with my towel over it every night. That said very central location for everything. Thank you
We stayed at Sliema chalet hotel for 5 nights from 31 January 2018.the hotel was very clean and met our expectations.it is ideally located for the ferries and the town centre which can be reached in around 10 minutes on foot.the bus stop is right outside the hotel from where you can go anywhere in Malta for 1.5 euros which is fantastic. The staff are very polite and accommodating.the breakfast was adequate. We had room with seaview which was amazing on the 6 floor.the rooms are cleaned daily with fresh towels and the heating was a bonus as it can get cold at night. The wifi was available in all parts of the hotel even in our room. There is a kebab place 3 mins walk from the hotel which serves halal food.its called kebabji where the freshly made doner/falafel and kebabs are awesome. Don’t take any notice of the negative reviews the hotel is value for money and the location is superb. Finally ian the manager will go out of his way to fulfill all your needs!! Rashid.preston .england.
Met our needs as we were wanting a very cheap getaway. Very basic room, often smelt of cigarette smoke from people in nearby rooms. Bed so uncomfortable I slept on the sofa. Undrinkable water from the taps. Not a bad location for buses and Valletta walkable if you’re up for a bit of a trek.
We booked this hotel after some time searching for offers. In terms of location/money it was the best option, although maybe not the cheapest, moneywise and locationwise the best option. 730 EUR for 7 days in a twin room with breakfast and a sea view. I think the sea view was the best thing about this, we were located on the last floor, so no noise from the street, even though the hotel is located directly by a busy street. Can't say for the view for other rooms, but I know they have them. It's close to a big range of restaurants and a supermarket and 20 metres away from the bus stop "Chalet" which is convenient - when I use the ridiculous maltese public transportation. Rooms are ok, although furnished in old style, they were cleaned every 2 days as I recall. Air conditioning working well (it was in the offer and it was ok, plus an extra fan at the ceiling). Breakfasts ok, but each day the same (except eggs, done in a different way each day, but being there a week we had each kind like twice or 3 times). Negative side - mold the bathroom, not sufficient water pressure in the shower, the water smelled of chlore. Couple of misunderstandings during the booking: we booked directly via their page - credit card only option, I was charged 3% of the transaction - unfair. Secondly, we booked breakfasts, at the arrival we were informed that we do not have the breakfasts - we had to straighten that as we arrived, went quick. Thirdly, booking directly we received a free harbor cruise with another company - the voucher I received via e-mail was a scan, I was informed I will get the original once I arrive. Then it was nowhere to be found, guy at the reception printed a very low quality copy, I asked if this is alright, he confirmed - but the guy at the harbor would not listen and not allow us on board, though I fought him with words for 20 mins - it was sunday, the next day we were leaving, that was the last cruise on that day. When I got back to the hotel and complained they gave me an original voucher the next day and we finally did it. Ian, I assume, manager there, had been always very helpful and a positive man, thank you. Also I would like to thank a lovely lady with black curly hair from the hotel reception staff, who helped us with arranging the cruise again and complained in our name to the company doing the cruise. 3 star hotel in it's level, 3 stars on TA, fair enough. If you want to travel on a medium budget and be close to the places of interest and not expect heavens, this is your choice. If I'd stay there again - hmmm rather not, always trying to check out new things, but again: the price is fine and location good.
