I booked thid hotel on 8.th january for March and it was written that cancelation is free before 27.th of march. I had to cancel on 10.th Jan (2,5 months earlyer) but they charged me 10 euro foe cancelation.
The hot water was brown. They said it is residue from the old pipes. It can't be trusted to take a warm bath. We didn't use any hot water whatsoever. The should be enough but the room was also old and unattended. Not particularly clean too.
We were booked into what was called a Economy Room. The room was on the 7th floor of the hotel just of an oddly placed sitting area. At this point we were not sure if we had booked into a Hostile by mistake. We were pleased to find out that we had a proper room. The room itself was large, the furniture was a bit dated, but usable. The key thing was that the room was very clean and tidy. For me the cleanliness and size of the room more than outweighed the dated furniture. It would have been nice to have had a frig but that was not a major problem. One of the biggest pusses for this hotel is its location. This hotel has a busstop on either side of the street so there was ready transpiration to Valletta and or to the Gozo ferries. We like this part of Sliema for its coffee shops and outdoor bars type of lifestyle and being able to take long walks along the waterfront walkways. This hotel is also just a short walk to Saint Julain’s. Saint Julian’s looks like an old 1940’s film set that was locked in time. With it’s Latin architecture and brightly colored fishing boats, just for a moment, you could almost forget it is the 21st century. It’s the evenings when you know it is not the 1940’s; In the evenings St Julian’s becomes a bustling town for it’s nightlife on Malta. It’s a small place that has four different areas and all within a few minutes’ walk of each other. This means we can enjoy authentic Maltese cooking at one of the waterfront restaurant in Spinola Bay, then move across to Paceville for a bit of nightlife on the island. Then at some point if we had the money, we could go to the shops across the board. On this trip we only made one trip to Valletta. Since Malta is still preparing itself for the Capital of Culture, they are doing a great deal of building and construction work for the Capital of Culture, so many of our favorite sites to visit are not totally visible. Valletta contains buildings from the 16th century and onwards, many were built during the rule of the Order of St. John also known as Knights Hospitaller.
Stayed here from 14th-18th Dec. It's in a grest location in sliema next to lots if great restaurants & bars and right on the sea front. Although it was a basic room it was clean & cleaned every day & supplied with fresh towels daily. Great roof terrace to admire the views. Would definitely stay here again.
Nice little hotel, great sea view rooms,we didn't eat there so can't comment on the food. Air con not great but better than nothing, great location, comfy bed, good facilities. Good value for money 10 min walk from all the ferry terminals to valletta and all the other boat trips round the islands. Very near to the many restaurants and bars along the sea front.
Malta has hundreds of such hotels: functional, close to the beach, nothing special. I only stayed there for one night only and it was perfectly fine. The room was comfortable and clean, and the reception staff were nice enough. The Chalet is modest but it does the job.
Really nice simple little hotel. The rooms are simple and basic, but had everything we wanted - really large bed, air-conditioning, fan, tv, ensuite, etc. The staff on reception were all very friendly and helpful. Didn't try the breakfast due to earlt starts every day, but wouldn't of hesitated to try it, looked very nice. Overall the stay was excellent, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again in the future.
This is my second review of this hotel as my first was done shortly after my arrival. After 8 days here I have to say nothing changed my original review. I have stayed in 4 & 5* hotels in Malta that didn't come up to this standard ! Kettle and cups were supplied within 5 mins of my request. The staff were extremely helpful. It is also really nice to be addressed by name every time you passed by reception. Room was cleaned every day with clean towels and bed changed every two days. Well done Ian and all your staff, I look forward to seeing you all again on my next visit which I am about to book for June 2018
Stayed here for 10 nights Great location on the front and within walking distance of paceville and short bus trip to valletta Our room cleaned daily Ample breakfast Nice staff Richard looked after us at the bar and was always very pleasant and humorous 👏👏 They clearly need more staff like the ones we encountered to take the place forward We had no problems to speak of except dodgy air con in the room but fans are provided Its a no frills hotel but on cost is very reasonable Dont pay the earth you cant expect everything Exactly what we'd hoped for as a base to travel away from during the day Myself and my uncle enjoyed our stay to your beautiful part of the world Thanks for adding to my best holiday ive had so far One day we'll return 👏👏👏😁😁
Stayed here for 4 nights. Overall the hotel was average, staff were friendly. Room was very basic, didn't have fridge which was a low point, also the air con was very loud, so was unable to really have this on at night. Had a hairdryer and the room was very spacious, didn't have a balcony though and the windows were blacked out so didn't have any natural light in the room. Free toiletries in the room. Didn't have the breakfast as was rather expensive, you could get one from the restaurant just outside the hotel for less. Overall Hotel was basic and for the price paid and the previous reviews we expected a bit better. I guess you are paying for the location. It was a very good location, with the beach (rocky and slippy) over the road, restaurants were right outside also. Recommend surfside for dinner. The bus stop straight outside was useful (recommend getting the 7 day pass, used this a lot around the island). Also short walk to the ferries and then the other direction to st Julian's.
