I have stayed at this hotel multiple times for business, and once for a holiday, years ago. I was not really happy about the service and the state of the property. I returned to the Hilton Malta today for a conference. I booked a big suite, and did not expect much. Anyhow, the place totally changed: all conference members are happy about newly renovated rooms. And, all of a sudden, there is five star service. Was there a management change? From a welcome drink at check-in to perfect service at the bar, at the convention and room service. I am very positively surprised, and I will consider this hotel again for business and private stays. Well done!
We had a great vacation in Malta at the Hilton..hubby and I plus our two kids...we arrived early before 12 noon due to an early flight..we requested for an early check in and to our surprise, our room was ready...I sent a request to the hotel before we arrived about it being a surprise anniversary treat...our room was nicely decorated and cleaned by Ibrahim (excellent service)..Deana checked us in and she was very welcoming...she explained everything we needed to know as it was our first time, which we found useful. The concierge helped with our suitcases all the way to our room on the 6th floor. I didn’t catch his name but we were really impressed with the service from when we walked in. Our room was nicely cleaned daily and housekeeping always went over and beyond. We came back to our room on one of our days out and we found all our shoes nicely arranged, which they didn’t have to do..all we can say is wow... We even had a complementary anniversary dessert waiting in our room...the attention to detail of all the staff was exceptional..many thanks to Claudia, Mariem, Deana and the lovely concierge team.. This is truly a 5 star hotel and I hope they don’t drop their standard in the near future...the hotel has a pool, sauna and steam room which we used...all very good..their gym is well equipped..room service was excellent and the wake up service was helpful if you need to catch an early flight 😀...you’ve got to try the classic club sandwich..best one I have tasted.. If you are in Malta this is definitely the place to stay..highly recommended 😀 We would be pleased if the hotel management could extend our gratitude to housekeeping and the entire staff for a great stay...thank you all very much..you have given us a reason to return to Malta 😊 The only thing we found was the bathroom floor was wet every time hubby took a shower..maybe something with the glass I’m not sure...I did notice some other reviews mentioned this but aside that everything was great...maybe the hotel could look into this...
Lovely Hotel, although the mix of holidaymakers with Business People didn't really work for us. Quite often felt pushed aside as unimportant when large groups of business people were present. Buffet breakfast was vast but hot food was always tepid to cold, it appeared that the waiting staff were only interested in clearing plates and not very helpful with anything else. The Quarterdeck bar was amazing, we used this most evening for a pre dinner drink, the staff here always greeted you with a smile and your wish was their command, great staff. Another staff member was a concierge - we were awaiting a pick up for a tour we had booked and he not only came and greeted us but made a phone call several times to enquire as to what the hold up was, and ensured we were collected 40 minutes past schedule, what a true gent. The Blue Elephant restaurant based within the Hotel is a must for anyone visiting, absolutely fantastic. Our room was a Harbour View with two beds, at first the room appeared to be fantastic, although not much of a view through trees and bushes, however when we sat out on our balcolny we were overlooked by two further balcolnies above us, so dont expect any privacy!!!. personally I wouldn't visit this hotel again for a vacation as it appeared to be mostly aimed at business peeps..... The Maids serviced the rooms daily and boy do they work hard.
We went for our company's 50th year celebration. This is probably the best hotel in Malta. Here are the positives: 1. Location is excellent, cruise, Valletta city everything is very close by 2. All rooms have lovely view from the sit out, mostly overlooking the sea. They are very spacious as well. 3. Food is good, you get even Indian food if ordered. 4. Casino is also available just next door.
We liked this about the hotel: 1. Lovely rooms 2. Great room terrace - note some are bigger than others - ours was a double size with both covered and uncovered space 3. Very helpful well trained staff 4. Pools looked great - 2 outside pools and 1 inside 5. Marina location - our room overlooked the small marina 6. waiter seating rather than DIY for breakfast 7. Gluten free breakfast options 8. Quartdeck bar is cosy and not over-priced A few downsides: 1. Buffet breakfast was OK - hot food rather tepid 2. Location is out of town and close to Placeville which is quite tacky 3. Staff were a little intrusive. Housekeeping checks in the afternoon, soliciting feedback or recomendations and on our last day an unwelcome 08:30 knock on the door
The beautiful lobby with elegant lighting and soft furnishings greets you first. From the big glass windows the pools look clean and inviting. Check in was quick and all the staff (especially the cleaning staff) were friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the afternoon tea (if you order scones only get one portion as you get 5!) and the downstairs bar. I also joined in with the dynamic yoga (excellent) and classic yoga. The indoor pool needs a re-vamp and the prosecco was not good (and I've sampled lots in my time). Apart from that, this place is perfect. If you stay, visit Zeri's seafood restaurant round the corner and Zest which were our two standout restaurants in Malta.
We had a lovely room for Easter weekend. The bed was very comfortable, excellent bathroom with a lovely walk-in shower. We had everything we needed, including access to the executive lounge. The swimming pool area outside was lovely, as well as the indoor pool and spa facilities. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who just needs to relax. The staff were super friendly and available and there were always plenty of people on-hand to offer assistance at meals. the food available in the hotel was better than anything else we found on the island too!
Excellent hotel on all accounts. The service was fantastic and the view from the room made you want to stay in and enjoy the view. Every interaction with the staff proved they were friendly and eager to please. The breakfast buffet was one of the best I've experienced in Europe. Will definitely stay here again on our next visit.
If you are not planning on taking the public bus all over the island, this is a great choice of hotels. The bus stop is very close, but the majority of bus connections go through Valletta, which is a 20 minute bus ride away. It is an hour by bus to the airport from the Hilton. The rooms are large and modern. The staff very friendly and helpful. The executive club was available for breakfast (7:30-10:30), tea & desserts (3-5:00) and alcohol and light dinner (6-8:00). As a gold honors member I was given an upgraded room and access to the executive club. If I had wanted the large buffet breakfast on the first floor that would have been 10E. The gym is one of the best I've seen, with lots of choices for cardio, weights, and stretching. The pools and out door area are nicely maintained as is the spa. There are a wide variety of restaurants in the Hilton and with a few minutes walking distance.
Where do I start, if you’re able to spend a little bit extra then I would recommend that you do and book here. The hotel inside is beautiful and very spacious with lovely views. The breakfast - amazing ! They have everything and I mean pretty much everything you can think of having for breakfast. The seating area is very spacious and again the view is wonderful as you can see the sea from the hotel, with the option of seating outside by the pool. The staff where very polite and helpful and happy to help wherever they can. Would definitely stay here again.
