We have visited for the first time Majorca and have chosen to stay at Sol Guadalupe based on the online reviews and I believe we did an excellent choice. We have stayed at the hotel for 10 days. The staff was wonderful, friendly, polite and most of them were speaking good English making our stay even better. The room was clean, with a lovely pool view, the housekeepers very attentive. We did booked a double bed, but got 2 singles put together, we had a good laugh with my husband as the beds were always moving)))) We were booked only with breakfast included and I did enjoyed the fresh omelet, good choice of fresh fruits, yogurts, it was everything what we would like for breakfast. We did had dinner on 1 evening, for us the food was too bland and not a good variety, so we decided to eat in another places. Magaluf it is full of great restaurants. Me and My husband really enjoyed the water activities, the entertainers were great. The swimming pool was large and the water was always clean. We had a perfect stay and if we ever will be back in Magaluf definitely will chose to come back to Sol Guadalupe.
First the honesty part myself and my new wife both work - in the uk - for what is by room numbers currently the largest hotel group in the world , and we have 25 years service and experience between us. Once you read the full story of how we ended up in this hotel and resort you may think we are looking back with rose tinted glasses but as with everything there are a few bads to go along with the good but I always try to be totally honest on tripadvisor , having been on the end of untrue and dishonest reviews myself. We had booked a package holiday to Benidorm via Monarch and when it was all going wrong we were packing , on the final weekend when the CAA gave them 24 hours until the Sunday night we should have been travelling to Manchester Airport on the Monday morning. So when the news hit on the Monday morning although we had originally booked online we decided our best bet for a replacement was to hit a travel agent which we did the closest being a branch of Dawson and Sanderson here in Carlisle. Luckily we had savings we could use but still our maximum budget was £1200 , the original holiday having cost us just over £1000.00. The agents was busy as others were in the same boat by a mracle we managed to get our package b and b to Sol Guadalupe Magaluf departing on our original date but for 11 nights not 14 and b and b not half board so could use our pre booked train tickets and hotel airport booking , this holiday came in just over £1000.00, On arrival at the hotel we were pleasantly surprised reception seemed stylish and clean , check in was quick and painless , the safe was free of charge and we were told there was already a free to use fridge in the room , both items i would have had to pay for with our original booking, Got to our pool view room again a nice surprise big enough very clean good sized balcony nice bathroom and shower one small gripe the card holder slot to activate the electrics was not working , I visited reception they apologised 4 or 5 minutes later the maintenance guy arrived literally thumped it and it worked , we had two cards so simply left one permanently in place , we could now check the air con which was fine and the tv had 5 or 6 uk channels which was fine for us , it was just for watching when getting ready to go out in the background. Breakfast started at 8am huge choice we tied several times and never found it too busy. Never ate any other food in th hotel never tried the bar so cant comment. Pool is great , seperate kids pool and another indoor/outdoor pool plus gym area , main pool has a whirlpool/jacuzzi in the centre of the pool great large sunbathing area and another roof top sun terrace. Ample lifts never waited more than a few moments. Yes as per a few other comments i visited reception twice once to check on public transport times and the second time to check on our departure pick up time. Both times I got the details I needed but both times I did wait several minutes as there was only one member of staff at reception and I also noticed several other times I passed it was also one person but to be fair I passed other times and there were 2 members of staff. So overall for us a great hotel and if in the resort we would return 100 percent.
Eight golfers stayed at this hotel, clean rooms, great breakfast close to the town, ideal for golfers (25 mins to three golf courses) we are thinking of going back again next year, the staff at hotel were friendly, and helpful , thankyou sol Guadalupe magaluf.
The Hotel was lovely and clean, we were BB the breakfast was very good lots of choice and constantly being replenished freshly baked bread lovely bright and large dinning area friendly and helpful staff.
The hotel looks like it has been recently renovated. Very nice hotel with beautiful pools, excellent hot & cold breakfast buffet(included). The first 2 days, the orange juice was so good, it tasted as if you were eating a fresh orange but on the 3rd day it was awful. Everything else was fantastic! We were there in October and therefore found plenty of parking in the nearby street or at the municipal parking (free) and got a very good rate for the hotel. It's a good base for visiting the island and a 25 min car ride to the airport. The gentleman at the reception was very welcoming and spoke French to us. He gave us a nice room on the 7th floor facing the ocean and pool. It was amazing! We had a balcony with a table and 2 chairs and decided to pickup a pizza for Dinner and eat it there. The hotel staff was kind enough to let us borough 2 plates and forks & knives from the dining room. Also included are shows in the evening. We went to one of them which was a Flamenco show. It was fabulous! I have paid for flamenco shows in the past that were not nearly as good as this one! The only negative was the mattresses which are a little hard and my bed was not levelled. I fixed it by putting a piece of cardboard underneath the legs on one side. There is a very popular bar across the street where clients are pretty rowdy (it went on way past 4:00 am). As long as you keep your patio doors closed it should not bother you unless you have very sensitive hearing. The a/c in the room was excellent
My family and I stayed here for 9 nights half board. The hotel itself is clean and modern. The rooms also clean but a bit small. The food was very good and always hot. Staff very friendly. The pool was nice and big but a bit cold. The location of this hotel is good. Close to the beach and local bars and restaurants. Overall great value for money.
Absolutely glorious. Nothing not to like. All the staff from reception to chamber maids so friendly and kind. This is the cleanest hotel I've ever been in.Breakfast to die for. Rooms sparklingly clean.Beds little on the hard side.Sun beds a plenary.Snack bar excellent Got back3 days ago and want to go back now.
I have been trying to contact the hotel since the beginning of October regarding a booking issue, we are due to travel on the 20th October at the moment we only have one room for 5 people. I have sent at least ten emails with no response and numerous phone calls. One of our rooms has been cancelled, which we did not ask for to be cancelled and we have not received a full refund. We have stayed at the hotel before, but Melia administration is terrible to deal with when there is an issue.
Moved to this hotel following a horrific experience in El Arenal at a different hotel. Although we had to pay again for a holiday we'd already paid for I don't grudge a penny of it. The Guadalupe was immaculately clean, light, spacious & airy. Staff were amazing nothing was too much trouble. We'd booked a Sol Sea View room and were allocated room 801 what a view!!! It was breathtaking, facilities were brilliant and shower was to die for although the waterfall head didn't work when we arrived but was repaired immediately when we reported it.The outdoor pool was fantastic although water was very very cold and plenty of sun loungers. Lots of activities to keep you occupied even down to exercise bikes in the pool for morning workouts I found this a bit bizarre but fun to watch. Breakfast was included and buffet style and I've never in 30 years seen such an amazing choice of food, 2 show chef's cooking fresh omelettes and pancakes and bottles of chilled champagne on arrival in the restaurant just made it feel so luxurious. We absolutely loved it and 1 of the best hotels I've ever stayed on and so much so that we've booked to go again in May and have decided that we will only stay in Sol Hotels no matter where we are in the World. Can't recommend it enough
