Friendly staff, easy check in but had to pay a hotel tax on arrival Room lovely and very clean. Food fine A little away from any shops that my 81 year old mother could look around courtesy bus provide to palma and other local areas on the whole a lovely holiday
Firstly, I don't often find fault or feel the need to leave bad reviews about places I have stayed. Everyone perceives things differently. However the Ola Maioris needs a review!! I stayed here for 7 nights with my 2 children 13 and 10. Tiny balcony area, small room, very indadequate air conditioning unit - just didn't perform. Too hot every night to sleep. reported to the rep but was told it says in the small print that the air conditioning is off for a large part of the day throughout the hotel!! It was August and boiling hot!! The pool areas grotty, furntiure cheap white plastic, one small dining room, outdoor area hardly ever open, food repetitive and very low standard, only other option of food through the day was at the bar near the pool and it was the same food most days. All food left on open display for germs and flies which could often be seen walking all over food in both eating areas. In an evening there was often only one bar in use with long queues and the only time you could get a cup of coffee in a mug was at breakfast, the rest of the time it was served in a polystyrene disposable cup and wasn't even available in the main dining hall in an evening so you had to queue at the bar for a polystyrene cup of coffee. Would definitely not return here and don't know how Thomas Cooke can sell it as a 4 star hotel!!
This is a hotel for families with small children... They have a mini aqua park and ice cream machine near by so kids will love it.Food was average but satisfying.the hotel is clean and in a nice quite location...
We stayed here with friends for 5 nights and we had a brilliant time. The hotel was very clean!!!!!! The rooms were modern and very clean. Could have done with more cocktails available! The food was good but sometimes a bit random I.e. chicken nuggets and burgers for breakfast?? The snack bar was ok, we didn't go hungry but it was repetitive. The staff were friendly especially the entertainment team. They were always trying to get you involved in something. They worked really hard and put in some amazing shows in the evening. Overall a brilliant hotel
loved this hotel, our room was modern, comfortable and spacious, everywhere is clean and comfortable. Brilliant area for the kiddies (and adults) to play on the water slides. Plenty of areas to sit and have a drink and a snack, no problems getting a sunbed and they are comfortable. Entertainment is the same as it is in most hotels. Definitely a hotel for families. I think the food could be improved, I'm really not a fussy eater, but there was quite a lot of fish, and not a lot of alternatives on some evenings .Would we go back, probably with our grandchildren, not as a couple. A walk to the rocky cove is a must, ask at reception.
We spent a 3 week family holiday here. We cannot fault the cleanliness of the hotel and the rooms. The room was not big enough for 4 people to move around in with ease. The food was terrible. Always cold or never cooked through properly. Had to use microwave to heat the food up. Entertainment for the kids and grown ups was very poor aswell. If we had known the standards were this poor we might have stayed elsewhere. Thomas Cook even recommended this hotel to us. Had a lovely holiday though.
Hotel itself is very attractive, we had a lovely modern room which was spotless. It’s in a quiet area which was fine for a short break but might get a bit dull for any longer stay. Good transport links to Arenal, we found a gorgeous quiet beach away from the main one, which I’d recommend. We also walked to the local rocky beach which had fantastic clear water and is a marine conservation area so full of sea creatures and interesting plants. It was also wonderful to swim in, the water was beautiful. Breakfast was fab, but I didn’t think much of lunch or dinner, which was very much the same every night and unless you arrived early, the meat was like leather from sitting on a hot plate. Staff at reception were great, very friendly and helpful.
Great all inclusive family holiday. Rooms comfortable and spotless. Kids pool amazing for our 2 ages 4 and 6. Good entertainment, kids club and park. Pool bar had great variety of food and drinks especially slush and crisps for the kids. Main restaurant I thought food was good and plenty of choice. I'm a strict vegetarian and there were plenty of chickpea and bean salads for me. They were beautiful and fresh. The only thing i would suggest -Maybe more hot food vegetarian food should be on offer maybe a vegetarian paella 1 night and maybe "V"signs should be placed above food to make it more obvious. We have stayed in many 5 star hotels and the main restaurants have been of a similar standard for the size of the hotel . It's a quiet location with shops and bars a 5 min walk away and a free bus to beach every day which takes 10mins. Or €10 in taxi which are always waiting outside hotel We had a fantastic family holiday for a family of 4 with young children. Lovely food and drinks and pool in lovely high quality quiet surroundings . What more could you ask for. We will be back!
The lack of respect and customer care for normal paying guests when the hotel has 400 French guests arriving is shocking, can't get breakfast can't get lunch and diner total disgrace all I can say is I will NOT be back and would recommend never staying here, the staff are on the majority good apart from the assistant manager who is also the catering manager who is not pleasant to deal with, today has been spent with staff apologising for the madness
A big group of 12 adults mid October. Food and hotel staff very nice. Entertainment ok and great for kids. Animation team try very hard. Lights out at 12 no matter what you doing as this is a family with kids hotel. Bus stop outside hotel takes you to nearest lively place 15 mins Alareno mainly German resort or to Palma. All in all ok but not really for adults without kids and not really a couples or group of adults hotel.
