We absolutely loved this hotel. The only complaints we had were that dinner was served at 7:00pm. We understand that in Spain dinner is eaten late but 7:00 is a little too late. Second thing was that our room wasn't ready until an hour after check in. The lady at the counter let us use a room to change in and a room to leave our luggage so we could use the pool and beach. The rest of the hotel was great. All of the staff were kind and friendly. The hotel was immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. Room was comfortable and roomy. Breakfast and dinner buffets were delicious and plentiful. So many things to choose from. Breakfast drinks were included but not for dinner which was confusing. Especially because they were way overpriced and came in tiny bottles. We ended up bringing our own water. Pool was great. The beach is not owned by the hotel so you had to pay to use the chairs and umbrellas or just sit on your beach towel. Even though the Nikki beach hotel was next door and notoriously loud all the time we couldn't hear anything from our room. We'd stay there again with our kids this time. They have a kids club in the hotel although I'm not sure how it works but there were plenty of children around staying with their parents.
We stayed 4 nights here and absolutely loved the place. We opted to pay a bit extra to get the 'the level' access and this was a winner. You get access to an exclusive pool, free water/soft drinks and snacks during the day and cocktail hour. This was our first time in Magaluv and didn't realize how much of a party place it was but Melia is just far enough out the way you don't have to deal with it if you don't want to. The breakfast spread was top notch, I'd recommend going to the main breakfast buffet as there was a greater variety. The views from this hotel were amazing, the place was clean and the staff were friendly. I'd definitely book here again.
Me and my partner stayed here for 5 days for an anniversary. Firstly the coach transfer was that annoyed by some passengers on the coach, by the time it got to our hotel he'd had enough dropped us at the wrong hotel, we then had to ask other hotels were ours was and it was on another street! Not happy. Reception staff were very rude and unhelpful, as were all the staff in the hotel. Not one of the spoke English or even attempted, because we were young and English we got tarred with the same brush as all the drunken idiots that cause chaos in magaluf! The hotel it's self is beautiful and in a nice location but the staff let it down massively.
Excellent staff, was looked after from start to finish. The location was perfect, we selected it as it was far enough away from the busy part of the strip to be relaxing but close enough to have a crazy night. Hotel breakfast was the best I have had in a hotel, including rose champagne! Everything was delicious. Hotel felt spacious and chilled and the room itself was very clean and tidy. Very comfortable bed. Pool area was gorgeous and staff very attentive. Thank you for having us!
I stayed at the Meliá with my other half for three nights as we took a well earned mini break. I had chosen this hotel as my cousin had stayed at the ME which is two doors away, this one had been slightly cheaper but still a very high end hotel being that it's 4*. For me, I wasn't interested in the sights of Magaluf, or travelling around, so paying a bit more for a really nice hotel and opting for half board so we didn't have to worry every night where we were going to eat, was a must. What can I say? I really think this is one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in. The air of quality quite literally hits you as soon as you arrive. An Alfa Romeo sports car greets you on the forecourt as well as a swing chair, the scent of the hotel is absolutely gorgeous - blue velvet - I forgot to ask if I could buy the scent to take home with me so my house smells like this all the time! The decor is beautiful. Modern, clean, simplistic. The rooms are lovely. We had a "sea view" room - yep that old lateral view everyone's talking about. To upgrade to a front sea view room on the spot was going to cost 30€. No thanks. If I'd booked that from the start I would have got a better deal. The level, well what I could see of it looked great. I am told that soft drinks and water is complimentary. Having seen it, next time I would opt for this if budget permits. Saying that, the food quality of the restaurant was out of this world. Images of "buffet" conjures up a free for all, piling plates high and less than substantial food. Not here. The buffet is EXTREMELY high quality, fine foods, clean, palatable and everything I expected. First night of dinner was like "WOW". King prawns cooked on request, salads, soups, different types of fish, cheese and charcuterie plates, and delicious desserts. Breakfast was amazing with continental and full cooked food, omelettes and fried eggs made to order. Fruit, yogurts, cereal, HUGE amount of pastries, array of juices, tea and coffee delivered to your table, even on occasion complimentary sparkling wine which was a lovely touch and surprise on two of our three mornings. All of this with a view of Calvia Beach. Beautiful. The staff were absolutely amazing. The restaurant staff is who we encountered most. Special shout outs to Nora, Soraya, Claudia, Abdellah, restaurant manager Mr Robert De Niro (he knows who he is) and the other lovely restaurant manager. The bar staff make excellent drinks. Possibly the best Aperol Spritz I've ever had. The evening entertainment was lovely. Singers, a band. Perfect setting to dinner and with amazing views to boast. Everyone did their best to accommodate, find seating for us, serve to the best of their capability. Meliá you have extremely talented staff who clearly enjoy working for you. Belinda and Cristina on reception were BEYOND accommodating when I had a little mishap with the credit card that was charged which I did not bring with me. To their credit, Meliá are very strict with verification, and so they should be. They check things properly and strive to give their guests the best. The reception did their very best to help us and ensure this did not ruin our stay. The cleaning staff are also very friendly, genuinely happy and always said hi first. Sometimes I'd be like "where did that voice come from?" I partaked in Aqua Gym, which was fun, my other half did Yoga and also went to the gym, which he enjoyed. Oh yes we made the most of our stay! The hotel boasts lots of areas around the grounds to sit and relax. Near the restaurant, near reception, outside. The outside areas are lovely. One half surrounding the pool, another overlooking the beach, with a smaller child's pool. This is where we chose to sit and although we don't have children ourselves, it was not noisy. If you want to venture out, the infamous Magaluf strip is not far at all. Plus if you want to walk along the beach promenade, this might be preferable if you want a more scenic, classy view without people trying to convince you to visit their bar every 5 mins. Supermarkets and cash points are all within a 5-10 mins walk. We opted to get bottles of water from the supermarket as it could rack up costs at the hotel. Lastly, we checked out at midday today but were not due to leave until 3ish as our flight was at 5. I expected the hotel to allow us to use their pool facilities and take our luggage which they did, as this is standard. But do you know what else they offered, which really touched my heart? They booked us into their shower room which they allow guests to use to freshen up and prepare before leaving. Towels, a private shower room with WC, and toiletries for us to use. Another of their standard special touches to make their guests feel really welcome. These little touches really make all the difference. I now see why others have said they've been coming back for years. Meliá, you made my and my other half's first visit to Mallorca very special and first class. We will definitely be back. I write this as I'm on my way back to Stansted. I already miss it. Thank you so much.
Me and my wife stayed here for her birthday weekend in July, we wanted somewhere close to the uk so 2hrs on the plane from Birmingham and 20 minutes from the airport was perfect. I was a little worried due to the hotel being in magaluf but it's perfectly placed at one end of magaluf beach, you can venture further into magaluf where it gets very lively or stay in the vacinity of hotel where after 9pm it gets calmer. We tended to stay closer to the hotel. So the hotel, we were greeted with a lovely welcome and were escorted to the level reception on -2 floor check in was very quick the level benefits were explained. We were placed on the top floor (10) with a great sea view, shorty after our cases were carried to our room there was a knock at the door with a birthday cake and bottle of cava! (Which I obviously told my wife I ordered). When we came back to the room on the Saturday afternoon we found a second bottle and cake in the room which I'm sure was a mistake, which again I took credit for! The hotel decor is very stylish the rooms are very modern and clean, the beds are really comfy. The level is very much worth the extra, free soft drinks/snacks and sweets throughout the day then at 5:30-6:30 free alcohol and canapés along with other lovely touches like free towels sun cream and after sun. The breakfast was very good lots of variety we even had a violinist playing during Sunday morning breakfast, very relaxing. Generally sun beds are always available, and if people leave towels for too long unattended then the management will come and remove them. We ate at the level restaurant over the beach, it's a lovely setting very romantic. The service received was fantastic and Eva is a massive star! So helpful and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again!
Stayed here last month with my boyfriend, was absolutely amazing, better than we expected! Staff are lovely and attentive, surprised us with a bottle of champagne and chocolates! Hotel is clean & in perfect location so if you do want to go into Magaluf you can, or if not there's plenty of lovely restaurants near by! Would definitely return, if you do stay, the sea view rooms are definitely worth the money! Only thing I could fault is having to pay extra for a late check out, but I guess you expect that from a 4/5 star hotel!
Great hotel... loved everything but the parking. They should help with parking if the spots are full. The breakfast is grand... the pool and the beach is amazing.. the drinks are to die for. Bed was the most comfortalbe but the bath tub in the middle of the room was a waste for family. Wish they have more double beds for family with kids and take away the bath tubs from the living room
The hotel is in a good location at the end of the beach, so has privacy and relatively quiet. It is clean and modern. The staff are fantastic ( when my return transfer turned up 12 hours early, at 2am, the reception staff took care of it and in the morning arranged for a pick up at the correct time, which saved me so much worry). The too. Is a good size, lovely bathroom. The pool area had plenty of sunbeds and free towels. The pool itself is small but enough room to swim to cool down. The resort itself is not great. Only English bars. There is a great little bar/restaurant on the beach in the next bay - Palma Nova, and a lovely bar on the waters edge on the beach in Port de Portals.
I stayed one week in Melia Calvia Beach and I can highly recommend this hotel. everything was great! Food was delicious, service was excellent, sea viwe was amazing! Hotel is beautiful and clean! Easy and quick acces to the beach. Close to the hotel is nice, calm beach bars and on the other side if you want to have fun and see "Magaluf madness" is 10 minutes by walk. So location is perfect! I definitely come back to this hotel!
