If you are depending on a hotel with decent Wifi in your room, don't read any further. I am rather sorry to write this, since I have visited this hotel 5 times in the past 7 years - for good reasons. In fact, I believe it is the best value for money you can get in Platja de Muro. It offers perfectly well-kept, clean and quiet rooms, most of which have been refurbished (floor by floor) over the past years. It offers a decent breakfast buffet with a good variety of continental and some mallorquin choices for every taste. We didn't book half board during our last two visits, as we had grown a little tired of dining in. To be fair, the quality of the food is ok in relation to the average you can expect from hotels in this area. For better food quality, check out Las Gaviotas next door, if you are prepared to spend considerably more for a hotel with slightly better food quality. Or try some restaurants around or in Alcudia. In my opinion, the biggest asset of this hotel is its staff. Most of them are doing a really good job (cleaning, waiters in the dining room) and they keep staying with their employer over the years, which I take as a good sign indeed. I truly hope that management will fix their current WiFi problem quickly (never had any trouble with it during previous visits, this time it was weak or down for most of the time). Having voiced this complaint, we shall be happy to return again to find it improved.
Booked a short trip to Mallorca for a mini break and stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. Check in was very good even though i was actually early - 1.30 pm. Very nice man explained everything and informed me there was also a free spa. Room was ok. Nothing special but perfectly adequate. Could have done with a kettle but for £45 a night half board i didn't really expect this. The bar in the hotel was good and the drinks were reasonably priced. It was overcast and not nice weather but the pool did look nice. I didn't check out the spa. I wasn't very thrilled with the area. It wasn't dangerous or anything and it has lots of shops but i felt it was more city like. I have been to Mallorca 4 times, to Calle de Mallorca and stayed in Club Cala Romani hotel. I much prefer this area as its more quiet and more holidayish. I did manage to find a nice restaurant and had an amazing fish platter. It's not particularly cheap here and most of the restaurants were serving pizza and english stuff that you can get at home so i wasn't over whelmed. The beach looked nice... Dinner at the hotel was VERY good. Great selection and good service as well. Breakfast again was very good. Unfortunately the weather was dire whilst i was here but i still had a nice time and would recommend this hotel for a short break even if the weather is rubbish. Oh one thing to be aware of. I booked a hopper transfer and it took > 2 hours to get here. I was nearly last on the bus but still. It's quite a way out and the reason i didn't go to Calle de Mallorca again was because its 1.5 hours on the bus. I didn't realise this was the same if not further.... Thanks JS for a lovely stay and i may well be back if i have a couple of spare days again. Your half board option is excellent value and the food was lovely.
We liked this hotel, but they need to improve cleaning service. We stayed on the fourth floor and we had never seen cockroaches in our room. Everyday breakfast and dinner were very different (paella, Asian or Japan style, pizzas, salads and fresh fruits). The restaurant had a variety of dishes but I think the quality of food can be better. The staff was very nice, helpful and friendly, especially in the restaurant and reception (woman Magdalena). Swiming pool in the SPA area was cold. A lot of Germans. We felt very well in this hotel.
Would definatley stay here again, lovely clean rooms, very helpful staff, great location. Food amazing, lots of choices for meat eaters...struggled abit being a vegetarian but chefs were very accommodating in making special dishes for me. Very close to the sea, with lovely views, central place, we got a hire car to travel rest of island which is stunning, Pollensa worth a visit. Will be coming back, thank you xx
We stayed at this hotel for 1 week in August. The reason we chose this hotel was because a friend of ours was staying there. On arrival the hotel looked nice, but check in went very slow. We finally got a room key and at first glance the room looked nice. But when we opened the door to the bathroom we saw that there was mold in the ceiling. We arrived at the middle of the night so we chose to go to bed. The bed was awful. For us who are over 170 cm, it's too short. It was hard and obviously very old, the bottom of the bed was torn and dirty. The worst thing about this hotel is the cleaning. The hotel is dirty. Despite the fact that they had been cleaning our room, there was still plenty of dust and sand in the room. And on several occasions we found cockroaches in our room! Disgusting! The staff said that it was our fault because we had the porch door open in the evening, but that's not true! We always closed the door because we were afraid that bugs could come in. If you ask the staff about something, it is always answered with a sigh. They are obviously not interested in providing service. Breakfast is fine and the pool is nice. Short walk to the beach. There are also very thin walls, so you hear everything from the neighbors room. This is a hotel I never will stay at again!
The hotel has everything you need so you do not have to leave. The pool is amazing, great music, bar with drinks and some service for snacks. I personally didnt like the Mojito as it was 50% sugar but the rest, really good. The breakfast buffet was the bigger buffet I ve ever seen in a hotel. Gym has good basics but its small, spa is great and calm. You are across the road from the beach, have a few restaurants in the are and a bus stop just outside. The bed was EXTREMELY comfortable and everything was perfectly clean. You cannot regulate the AC which is a shame but the rest was great.
Hi every one This is my feed back I stayed their 1 week with my 5 years old daughter 1. next to the sea and the sea is amazing clean and shallow. great for kids. 2. food is so so. sorry plates I even heard few ppl complaining about it but I felt sorry as I saw how hard the chef and his staff and to work 3. at the check out they put extra 20 euro on my bill and when I asked for the receipt they could not find it. so I refused to pay for smth that I did not signed. that was a bit weird. 5. room is new and well cleaned but decor is a bit outraged. maybe it s just Spain as I visited my friend at 5 star and the decor was pretty much the same. 6 taxi extremely expensive So next time I will stay at apartment or chalet and rent a car but I will come back just for the sea as it s so clean and warm.
Hotel was good. Very good breakfast, the pizza and nachos was not good in the day snacks. The pool was nice. The hotel get 3 stars. But thanks to Lucy our stay got 5 stars. Lucy in the bar was amazing.
We enjoyed our stay very much. However, I will start with a few negatives. The hotel was fully booked during our stay, and for that reason we did on occasion have a hard time finding available sunbeds by the pool and parking space for our rental car. Housekeeping was not great, used toiletries and drinking glasses were not replaced. One day our balcony door had been left unlocked by the cleaning staff! The bathroom was quite worn with rust in the bathtub and silverfish on the floor. You need to pay to use the safe in the room and there is a deposit for beach/pool towels. I still feel like we got value for money. Hotels are very expensive in this area. The room was spacious with comfortable beds. There is a fridge at no cost and a few English TV channels. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant staff also, but most of them did not really speak English that well. The location of the hotel is very good, right opposite the beach. It's located at the Alcudia end of Playa de Muro. There are many shops and restaurants right outside. There is a spa with an indoor pool and a gym, and you can get treatments, we tried the manicure. The very best aspect of this hotel was the buffet, both breakfast and dinner! There was a huge selection of different food and stations where cooks prepared fish, meat and pasta to order. And a lot of different desserts! At breakfast there were egg and pancake stations. There was a different theme each night so it was not repetitive. Excellent!!
*** AVOID *** AVOID *** AVOID *** Ordered transfer to airport through the hotel. Pick up time was 0525 and I should be ready 0510. I was on the street 0510. NO ONE CAME FOR ME! The phone number on the voucher was not in order. I was lucky to arrange another transfer at 0605 and arrive to the airport in time. The hotel (reception) lies and said that they came for me before 0600. Impossible as I was on the street in front of the hotel and no one came. They are refusing to refund me and refusing to forward my e-mail to the manager. The service from the reception was overall very bad. AVOID THIS HOTEL!!!! The lunch food was terrible. Eg. Spagetti carbonara. A big plate with only a 3 person meal of spagetti and a little bit of some kind of carbonara sauce. Nothing else.. You will find something good in the buffet but the most of it is tasteless.. The room was very hot and it took 12h for the AC to cool the room. The first night was terrible. The pool area is okay. The restaurant staff is very nice and they very friendly to our little daughter. I feel sorry for them as they are working at this terrible hotel.
