I spent a week here recently with my son, and we both had a great time! The hotel is spacious, clean and clearly of a high standard, and the staff – right from our initial arrival through to checking out – we polite, helpful and attentive. For children, there is plenty to do… a choice of swimming pools (admittedly very cold at this time of year!), one with water slides, a minutes walk to a lovely beach, two games rooms, a mini club (for children up to 6) and a maxi club (for children 7 upwards). This was a god send for me travelling as a single parent, and the staff looking after the Maxi Club were excellent – specifically Jordi, Borja, David and Timo – they really went above and beyond to involve all the children. The food was of a really good standard, and nicely varied, the bar area was pleasant to relax in, and the evening entertainment was good – a mini disco for the kids, and then a show afterwards, that was different and new every night. There was a large number of new “Star Friends” staying when we were there, which resulted in one of the restaurants being off limits to guests, and occasionally a groups of people being put through their paces, learning dance moves, songs, games etc. The inconvenience was only minimal though, and it was good to see them being put through their paces… Iberostar obviously put a lot of effort into the training of their staff, and from the service we received, it is clear to see that pays off. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone, especially to families.
We spent a week here recently with our 2 year old. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. The food was amazing and the different specialties each day were great. Every employee went out of their way to greet us and help us have a relaxing stay. My wife and son also really enjoyed the nightly shows. Our son was running a very high fever the second day. The gentleman at reception had a doctor come out to our room within 30 minutes and directed us to the nearby pharmacy. Overall this was a great trip made possible by the wonderful people working at the resort.
Very clean hotel with quick check in, free bottle of champagne, superb staff who work extremely hard providing a good level of service with a smile and some amusing evening entertainment. Loli in the restaurant is vey smiley and lovely. There are some petty rules regarding inflatables in the pool which I don’t think need to be enforced when the pool is completely empty. The gym is basic with 20 kg dumbbells being the heaviest lift but there are some resistance machines and cardio equipment. Probably big enough for 6 people to train. Food is quite good and there is a different theme each night. We went bed and breakfast so we had more options but ended up eating in the buffet a couple of times for convenience. It is expensive if you do it this way, 20 euros for adults and drinks as extra. There is a supermarket right outside and a small parade of shops a couple of restaurants, a kids arcade with trampolines and little motorbikes and car rental a few mins walk but this hotel is a little bit out of the way. A taxi into Alcudia port is about 11 Euro and 15 to old Alcúdia. Both have their charms and plenty of restaurants. The beach is very nice, clean with shallow water for young kids to play safely. It is possible to walk to the next town to the right of the hotel in about 30 mins along the beach. Can picafort has some beach front restaurants and a shopping zone, worth a visit. Be aware that the sea and pools are chilly in April and there are many restaurants and attractions closed until May. You will get some sun but be prepared for temperatures around 18 degrees and some windy and cloudy days. Palma is about 45 mins away, easy to drive to with a sat nav. The old town of Palma just north of the cathedral is a rabbit warren of beautiful architecture and decent shopping. Loads of churches. There is a weird smell around the hotel when the wind blows offshore. This is usually late afternoon. It is a kind of sulphur smell which is unpleasant at first but you sort of get used to it. It may be the nature reserve, the sewage treatment plant about a mile to the south west or it might be one of the factories that are dotted around with tall chimneys slightly inland. Airport transfer is about 75 Euro and there is a 5 car taxi rank 1 minute walk from hotel entrance. I would return in the summer if the pricing didn’t get ridiculous. It was a good value Easter break where I spent about 3k all in for a family of 4 for 10 days. The same holiday in August would be over 6k.
Excellent Hotel, great location, fabulous beach, facilities, clean, immaculate grounds, wonderful food and first class service. Enthusiastic and friendly kid's club staff, whom the children loved and the flexible activities provided. The only slight complaint was that the hotel was being used as Iberostar's new staff training camp. Teams of youngsters everywhere, meaning some areas couldn't be used and at times it felt that we were in the way and all the constant training was a bit disruptive and annoying. Everyone was well behaved and friendly but it set a different tone for our holiday and made us feel that we were too early in the season before things had really started and the hotel wasn't really ready. When you pay a lot of money for the experience and a precious relaxing escape and holiday, you don't really want to see the training behind the scenes but experience the finished product. Saying that, it made for a bustling and rather unusual entertainment and children's disco with so many enthusiastic trainees and a happy atmosphere and good to see that Iberostar certainly invest well in training its staff!
This is just a step away from perfect. Food is amazing....sooooo ckean its u real. The staff treat you like kings, the list goes on. BUT The indoor pool. Before you say your holidaying in april.... the indoor pool is as cold as the outdoor. The mai reason we booked here is that the kids and swimm all day witb out freezing. I get the out door are not heated but the indoor pool???? The heat settings are on the wall someone turn it up
We really enjoyed our stay at Iberostar Albufera Park. The food was excellent and it was so nice to stay at a hotel that was right on the beach. Also everything the hotel was really clean and well looked after and the staff were all really nice. We'll be returning to Iberostar in the future.
Just back from our stay here with 2 young children. Hotel it’s self is lovely and clean, the entertainment staff were brilliant, my boys loved it! Really good pool and plenty of activities for everyone. Our room overlooked the beach, good location. My only complain is that one of our party has a severe nut allergy and the restaurant is full of them! Most nights there were peanuts sprinkled over most puddings, placed on tables outside when the children’s entertainment is on which isn’t good with young kids esp with the allergy, that part had me constantly on edge but that’s my only moan, everything else was brilliant :-)
Very nice hotel, spacious rooms lovely gardens and pool areas. Cannot fault hotel itself. However our Holiday is being sadly ruined by Parents smoking (quite alot of them in the children's Mini Disco area.) Shame on those parents for not only damaging their own children's health but my grandsons also who said he couldn't breathe it was so bad, we went back to our room at 8:15 two evenings in a row our evenings ruined. Iberostar you say your kid friendly - seriously ? You need to change your smoking policy in areas where there are children/ minors why should they breathe in toxic fumes by selfish others??? Won't be back for this reason only.
First visit for us, and it was excellent. Especially food, and service (special mention for Manuela and Sonia, they were so nice with pur son Aaron...). Location is also perfect, and the beach is fantastic. A couple of things to improve though. 1/ The quality of the kids show could be improved. The guys work well, don't get me wrong, but the show is kinda monotonous at times, and every day almost the same music... come on! There are so many nice songs for kids out there! 2/ Cleaning ladies work very well but otfen are too noisy. Be quiet! 3/ Linked to this: soundfproofing really bad. Room doors are oldish and every noise gets into the room. Kids - and parents - need to sleep well and soundproofing is essential! Please invest some money in replacing those doors!!!
We really had a great time in September in this hotel. I'll just point out a few things you may want to know before you go: - language: mostly German, British visitors, but I heard other languages too. Hotel personnel speak to you in whatever language you may choose. - location: quiet area. If you need some animation in the evening, you may search for a different hotel. Literally on the beach. - beach: several hotels in a row on the beach, so it could be quite crowded during summer. But hte beach is great, waters are shallow, great for the kids. - food: really good, much better than what we found in other family oriented hotels. Mostly freshly made, not many things coming out of a can or frozen, good choice, variation through the week, really appreciated it. - pools: clean, pool for kids with small slides, colourful characters. Kinda cold in September, as it was shadowed in the morning. - animation team: great for kids. Really nice team, they cover baby club, mini club, daily sports offer, evening sows, they work hard and are very professional (dancers, sports, circus trained) . The team is hand piked and it's really impressive to see all they can do and how many languages they speak. - services: as many other hotels, they offer services on site (massage, hairdressing, etc). I tested the massage centre for a back pain, it helped! - personnel: they will do their best to help you with whatever you need. - Abufera Park and Abufera Playa - they are practically connected, one is for the families and one is for ...the rest of the non-crying-in-the-middle-of-the-night rest of the population:). You have access to pools and restaurants on both sides. - playgrounds: they have a playground at the end of the restaurant for the kid, which is great! in the clubs (miny and babyclubs). There's a playground just in front of the hotel, with swings, slides. - rooms: had a family room, Not so good: the smell! the sewage smell, present almost every evening, and not avoidable even in the rooms (as there is a ventilation system in the room which is independent of the aircon, and you don't have control on it). the personnel will tell you it's because of the natural reservation ...it's not! IT smell like sh%t and its because of sewage issues. My husband goes out running every day and he saw workers on sites of sewage entries in the streets on several days. They have a problem. and it stinks! Had I been pregnant, for me it would be a deal breaker! Suggestions: the baby club could use more toys, books. Many thanks for a great time here!
