Just returned to France with my daughter after a one week stay in this hotel. Personally speaking we had a splendid holiday. Built in the 50's, this medium sized hotel, (169 rooms), has a certain old world charm and is immaculately clean. We were greeted by a glass of sparkling wine, and allotted a spacious comfortable room on the 9th floor, with a lovely view over the mediterranean, exactly as described in our reservation. The food is varied and of good quality, fresh salad vegetables, fruit etc, and great care is taken in the presentation. The breakfast buffet is smashing, and the outside terrace for dinner is just beautiful. The staff, reception, waiters, chamber maids, are charming and efficient. They worked very hard and, in spite of sometimes suffocating heat (35° /38°), managed to retain their smiles and good humour. Now, on the down side, it seems important to note some points which might avoid confusion for certain guests. Primo, the hotel is built into the rock and descends in a series of terraces to the sea, so there are a lot of steps to negotiate. Obviously this can be very difficult for people who have mobility problems. If you have a very young baby, be aware that it will be hard work bringing a buggy up and down all those steps, especially in the blazing heat. Secundo, the hotel staff require people to dress correctly for dinner, this is written in block and bold on all the info pamphlets. Not to put too fine a point on it, "no shorts for men", whatever the length of the shorts, so pack some long light trousers. Tertio, sunbeds are at a premium as are parasols, and technically reserving them is forbidden, but no one pays any mind to this. People get up at 6H30 to 7H00 in order to lay down their towels which are incidentally provided free by the hotel. The hotel is in the suburbs of Palma, and there are no activities laid on for teenagers. The pool, though very pretty, is not large, and is generally taken up with parents and small children, or a group of uncivilized individuals who lie across the entrance, or sunbathe right in the middle of the waterfall, and stay there for hours. So basically, if you have a couple or three teenagers, their only occupation is jumping into the sea, climbing back up the ladders and jumping into the sea again. Consequently, if the jelly fish arrive, as was the case this week, then that activity has to be curtailed also. The hotel is classy and quiet, the area is extremely residential, so it's perfect for arest and relaxation. Voilà, as I said, we had a wonderful holiday, I would definitely recommend this hotel, and will certainly go back there again. If, however, I still had teenagers, I wouldn't choose this location, but opt for a club hotel better geared for their needs.

There's a lot of good about this hotel. Magnificent views, a good restaurant, and lovely friendly service. The rooms were spotlessly clean, as was the whole hotel. Air con worked everywhere. My price was £470 for 4 nights half board- a bargain! A few small things are worth considering, which stopped me awarding five stars. There are a lot of steps, because the hotel is over seven floors, which can be a drag. It's on a cliff face which is both magnificent but also means everything is on a separate level. There is a shortage of sunbeds and places to put them! It's a bit of a bunfight for a good spot and I found my European friends to be rather possessive if they felt a particular place was 'theirs'. The decor is a little tired in places. Nothing in disrepair but just a little drab and beige. It feels a touch dated. Overall I'd heartily recommend a stay, and if you measure your expectations on these items you'll have a great time. I would happily go back.

The hotel itself was lovely. Great location, beautiful views, nice bedrooms etc. Our bathroom was a little basic for 4* pricing but good enough. But as for the service, there were a few staff members who were lovely and polite - the bar staff were great and the bell boy too, and one or two of the receptionists. But the restaurant staff we met and some of the reception staff were very rude. For instance, after waiting for a taxi that had been ordered by the desk for a while, one of our group went up to ask if it was definitely on its way, and was snapped at. On another occasion, we were eating breakfast and were told we had to hurry up as dinner had "closed" as soon as it turned 10.30am. At a hotel of this standing, you shouldn't feel rushed to finish enjoying breakfast at the time the buffet begins to close. And payment for towels for the pool side etc were ridiculous. All in all there was a lot of great stuff about this hotel, except the attitude, and if that were adjusted I'd come back.

Beautiful views and public spaces and wonderful staff - special mention to David who helped me with boarding passes - however: a lot of steps which is not mentioned and could be an issue, the rooms are basic for a four star hotel with nasty plastic containers of soap, the sunloungers are not very comfortable and although a dress code was mentioned it was not enforced. Excellent food - we were half board and breakfast and dinner were great.

Very nice hotel, especially the view !!!! Outstanding view of the sea. We will recommend this hotel, the staff is very friendly and helpful. We travelled with our childrens and we had a beautiful stay in this hotel.

I was most looking forward to our time in Majorca...what's not to love, the sand, the Mediterranean Sea, the sun...! While I loved our time here, the hotel, to us, was quite average. The good... -THE VIEWS! -the location outside of downtown Palma -proximity to great bars/restaurants within walking distance -breakfast was plentiful and there were tons of options (service for this was great too) -bus stop right outside the hotel lobby - but you have to stand AT the stop for the bus to stop for you. The not-so-good... -the first lady (Linda?) we encountered at reception during check-in was not friendly and not very helpful. The bell-boy, David, was very courteous and offered us sparkling wine and answered all our questions. -feeling like we were nickel-and-dimed: 3 Euros/day plus key deposit for use of the in-room safe (build it into your price please...this is standard everywhere else), 15 Euro deposit for each each beach towel (deposit returned upon departure) -the sun loungers by the pools - uncomfortable and unless you got up very early to reserve the lounger you wanted, which is not allowed, but not enforced, you would not get one during the day. We ended up at the beach club down the street for one of our days, and it was heaven! -stairs EVERYWHERE - we didn't mind this as we got used to it and felt like it was a way to work off all the good food, but if you can't handle uneven and sometimes steep steps, this is not the place for you. -touted as a 4-star hotel, but the lack of the hotel upkeep and the service of some of the reception staff would bring it down for us. Overall, an average experience at a wonderful location! If I were to return I may look at staying next door in the bay at Hotel Bon Sol.

Absolutely perfect hotel, out of busy Palma. Sunsets were to die for, buffet was excellent, swims in the ocean were magic. Service was exceptional, hosts and welcome champagne was lovely. Clean hotel, had all the amenities necessary. Really great. Room was non smoking and had the best view, Lateral Sea View. Sauna good too!

Nice place for vacations in summer clean beaches good weather friendly people's we enjoy all my trip peace full city very good hotel clean hotel Management breakfast is good at dinner live music we really enjoyed

This hotel superseded my expectations. On arrival you are greeted with bubbly , the male receptionist was very pleasant and helpful. I was very happy with this hotel in every way. I had an excellent room which was very clean with a fantastic view of the port which was full of cruise ships. The reception area has this amazing smell and was immaculately clean. Th.e package I got with booking.com was 3 nights with bed and breakfast and evening meal for £244. This I thought was fantastic value breakfast was good and dinner was gorgeous. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and will be going back.

When we checked in the Receptionist said no request had been made for two rooms with sea views, even though I had E mailed them with my request. However the gentleman at Reception very kindly gave us an apartment instead with beautiful views. All the staff we met were lovely. Very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast on the terrace was a wonderful start to the day. Hotel itself was very clean and I liked the quirkiness of the layout on different levels. There are an awful lot of steps outside so not suitable for someone who perhaps has a problem with this. Having stayed in many 4* hotels I'm not sure this hotel warrants that rating but certainly deserves a 3*. The apartment was very tired looking and could do with a complete overhaul. Certainly didn't spoil my trip and I would stay there again.
