Its been a couple of months since we stayed at Martinique, back in July. We booked the all inclusive option, the food was fine pretty whatever, but the drinks were strong and ongoing, the upgrade to the inclusive was worth it just for that if you add it up really. The hotel is well located, easy walk to the nightclubs. Its not a very luxurious option, but its clean and the cost came out to a bargain for us, so would return.
Was on holiday in September at the Martinique hotel, its a great party hotel, had a blast, met a lot of new people, everyone was our age and out for fun and some summer sun. Would not holiday here with my parents of course, but would return with the lads, the food is fine, drinks are pretty good, the room and terrace were massive, and it was easy enough to get everywhere.
We paid about 200 Euro a night for one of the worst experiences ever. It looked so good on the internet but it was just full of noisy teenagers. The people at the reception are very unfriendly but I can understand why because their lives are not easy dealing with their customers. Everybody parties there all day round. You cannot rest at the pool, at night there is noice... but I do not mean a bit... constant noise of people yelling, singing, shouting, music... it just stops at about 5 in the night when everybody is passed out. Cheap liquor shop just around the corner, near the beach. Perfect for teenagers that can go for the first time alone on holidays. TV: pay extra for the remote control! Iron: pay extra! Etc... Location of the hotel was good. Rooms very basic with IKEA kind of furniture.
The hotel was nice and in a great location, just a 5 minute walk from the beach. It wasn't anywhere near as noisy as some of these reviews make out, although we did go towards the end of the season. The rooms were spacious and fit 4 of us in just nicely. The beds were comfy and the balconies were huge! There was a lot of storage space and the kitchen area was a great addition even though we were all inclusive. The air con worked perfectly (so well that we had to put more layers on during the first night because it was so cold!), but we didn't try the wifi as we read that it wasn't very good. We had no complaints about the all inclusive food, there was plenty on offer and something for everyone, even if it was pretty similar every night. Unfortunately you are only permitted to get one drink at a time which is understandable but the area near the bar is small and cramped and it would have been nice to take some drinks upstairs with us. This meant that we didn't really make the most of the all inclusive drink. The pool area was a nice size and there was almost always somewhere for us to sit, however we only spent a couple of hours around the pool as we found it annoying being bugged by holiday reps every 5 minutes and we much preferred the beach! The reps are my biggest complaint for the hotel. I am aware that they are not working specifically for the hotel but for the nightclubs and holiday groups, however they did spoil the hotel experience. You couldn't even walk up the stairs without being asked if you're going out tonight and if not why not and they were continuously walking around the pool pushing you to go to their nightclub. The individual reps are lovely and will leave you be if you make them aware that you're not really there to party, but the others are relentless and often quite rude. Other than that, we can't complain for the price we paid!
Biggest room I've ever stayed in. Kitchen with fridge and kettle and proper lounge area plus a big balcony. Apartment great for 2-3 but 4 would be push. Big hotel so great sized pool and plenty of sun loungers. Good relaxed feel and mainly similar aged people in groups and I felt a bit too old for the crowd. Staff ok. Gave us all the info we needed and help to sort our transfer. We didn't go all inclusive so can't say what the food was like but the drinks we got at the hotel were all good and cocktails tasted great. Near the Pirates show and water park and not far from the strip. BCM reps are always hanging around the hotel and they tell you whats happening in the club that night. Good fun for the younger crowd.
Magaluf is known for it's wild nights and clubs and although we wanted to enjoy that side of things we also wanted some down time to chilax and take things easy. Martinique was spot on for that. We went all inclusive so spent hardly anything apart from nights out. Room was great and even the sofa bed was comfy. Cleaning staff did a good job and left fresh towels for us. Food was better than we thought it was going to be and drinks good too although you have to cue up a fair bit at night. Pool was great for the daytimes and met loads of people. The hotel is near enough to walk to everything but we did use taxis twice but they were cheap. Brilliant week.
3 girls heading to Magaluf for our first holiday! We had a great time and we got what we paid for! When we arrived, it was late at night, but obviously being in Magaluf, the night had only started! We upgraded to all inclusive, which was a god send as we saved soooo much money doing this! We woke up pretty much mid day, however there was always food on for the us and it great, just what you would expect! The pool area was big enough and plenty of sunbeds for everyone! The atmosphere around the pool was great too as people were there to party and have a good time. There are reps from Thomas Cook and the BCM who go around the hotel selling tickets for a discount and for the upcoming events around Magaluf. The rooms were very spacious and the balcony was huge! Only issues with the rooms was that as they were so close to each other, it could get really loud when trying to sleep and with a bad head.... it wasn't great, but again you have to remember that you're in Magaluf, you are not there are a relaxing time. The hotel is about a 10 mins walk from the strip and on your walk back, you are more than guaranteed to find a group of other people walking back with you, which helped us a lot as we were getting sooooo confused a lost haha. The hotel is pretty much walking distance from the water park, the pirate show (Highly recommend the late showing!) and the go karts! we never got any form of transport while we were there except from the airport transfers which were about half a hour each way, and that's including picking others up from other hotels. The hotel fit its purpose and if I was to return to Magaluf (however I don't think my body could handle it haha) I would!
A lot of groups are staying at this hotel on holiday, we met a lot people that were having fun, we booked all inclusive and food was good but it was kind of alike every day, drinks were good and nice not having to pay or worry about them. They have cleaning service every day so the room stays clean even through all the mess we made every night, Magaluf is a great area everything is a stone throw away and easy walking distance. The cost of the room and the all-inclusive package was good, just wish the wifi would have been better.
Room was very spacious and seemed clean, however the beds are stained with all kinds of crap and I and my friends woke up with bites. Beds are very comfy but only bothered to look at the cleanliness the following day. House keeping was very bad, they kept on forgetting to bring towels to the room and had to wait over an hour to get some when requested nicely. Staff are very rude and not very sympathetic. Bar staff are lovely, but seem bored of their job... Food was decent, had a lot of variety. Wifi and tv for a week and even one day is very expensive. Outside pool is ice cold, hotel is very stingy. Entertainment was minimal and lounge/bar room is very small. Not a hotel for children as it is in the center of magaluf. 5min walk to the strip is a positive and the beach is extremely close to. Annoying sales man everywhere you go trying to sell you crap. If you dont like running a hotel, find another job
We had an apartment in the hotel. We had experienced many problems with our apartment because the room was very dusty and had been rarely cleaned. We had no free Wi-Fi or breakfast. We had to change our room because it was so bad. We had no sea views, no kettle or microwave. The only good thing was that the indoor swimming pool was really nice and warm, compared to the outdoor pool which was freezing cold. Also, there is a beautiful seaside a walking distance away and ALDI superstore a three-minute drive away.
