As a " Grand Class H10 Member" It saddens me to report that this Hotel falls far short of the standards I've come to enjoy over the years. The rooms small but clean, many guest placed their luggage out on he balcony to give that extra space. Most of the rooms had sea views, through trees in some cases. Rooms on the fourth floor or above are best. The bath sides are steep and difficult to get in or out. The safe was free with a small key deposit. The bed clean and comfortable and the presence of a good coffee machine helps you to prepare for whats to come. Unlike some we found the staff pleasant and accommodating, although thin on the ground even absent at times. The restaurant!!! what came out of it was pretentious rubbish, fish served cold sometimes raw, other times so over cooked it turned to mush. All the meals lacked vegetables, and presentation. The best part of the evening was watching the faces of newly arrived guests as their food was presented, the waiter returning to the tables with glasses of Presecco by way of an apology for the food sent back. It proved to be a very expensive holiday reverting to eating out for sanity's sake. If you want an expensive 3xxx B & B in a quiet location then good luck. I will never take the H10 logo as sign of quality again and no I will not be back.
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The chill out rooms are really worth it with a relaxing terrace and beds overlooking the pool and beach. It has a classy look and feel, seems new and rooms were very clean. Maid service twice a day and extremely friendly staff always happy to help with anything, especially Isabel. Breakfast was fantastic, great variety of foods and nespresso coffee as well as bubbly! I will absolutely be coming back here and recommend the hotel and surrounding Port D´Andratx and Camp de mar as great places to spend time with many good quality restaurants specialising in seafood.
Stayed here 1 week late August. Wonderful adults only hotel. The best things were the location close to the beach, great and tasty breakfast and comfortable beds. The only thing that was not so good was the spa that must be updated.
We stayed at the Blue Mar towards the end of August and were bitterly disappointed. The only saving grace were the staff (restaurant, bar and chambermaids), who were wonderful. The reception staff were unfortunately sour and quite unhelpful. The Hotel In General This is a classic case of clever photos not being anywhere true to reality. The reception area is nice, clean, crisp and looks like it was recently refurbished. The stairwell carpets are dated, frayed and dirty. The location is v quiet. There isn't much in the town, the beach is small but nice enough. If you're wanting to sit and do nothing and not have any night life accessible by foot this is the place to go. The Rooms We staying in one of the chill out rooms on the first floor that 'benefit' from the chill out beds. The room was small, tight to walk around the bed for 2 people. Very dated. Not radio as advertised etc. The bathroom looked very tired and therefore gave the appearance that it wasn't clean even though it was actually clean. For one night our duvet cover had holes in it and looked past it's best. When requesting an iron / ironing board, we received (like a previous reviewer) an iron that had frayed cabling, a leaking container and were told to iron on the bed as there wasn't room to put in an ironing board! haha The chill out area was never tidied. On arrival we saw towels left on a lounger, after 24 hours we told reception they were there (along with overflowing ashtrays, napkins from someone's lunch), and were scowled at and told that's the responsibility of the lifeguard who only works between 10-6. 24 hours after that conversation we had removed the glasses and took them to the bar and again reminded the reception that it was still dirty up there. This situation was a regular occurrence and therefore we avoided using the beds. Absolutely NO point in paying extra for these rooms. The Pool Area Hilarious. The sun deck is not a sun deck. It is two steps up to a platform where they have squeezed in a few posh loungers that are reserved at 7am. On our stay there were families who reserved them that early and didn't turn up till 11. Hard to police, not something that doesn't happen in many hotels but just funny. Bins often were left over flowing. Food We are foodies. We like good food. The food on the website is a million miles from what is served. Breakfast is the best of the three meals that can be taken. Fresh omelets are nice. The precooked full English type food isn't very nice but passable. Bread and pastries were ok. Lots of people on TA have moaned about the coffee machine being slow. It's a pod coffee machine. They all take a long time but the coffee tastes good so worth the wait. Lunches are nice but bog standard - salads, club sarnies etc. But are done well. Dinner ha that's a joke. The amuse bouche are pointless, not tasty, and often of v. interesting colours (bright purple sauce???!). The mains were a joke. No vegetables ever served with any fish or meat. All meat and fish are overcooked. The sauces were claggy, and unappetizing. Most was v. grey but made to look fancy with flowers or herbs or pretty plates. Probably the worst food I've ever had abroad. DO NOT BOOK HB. B&B and then grab a taxi to other local ports where there are lots of options. Overall We shall not be returning. One of us works for hotels so we do have higher expectations than most I agree. But basic maintenance is a must for all hotels. Many things were broken and could be fixed easily to prevent further damage. It felt as though the hotel was vastly understaffed. The GM walked around a bit, starred at the sea, NEVER spoke to a single guest (unbelievable) and sat slouched in his office. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone ever.
Had an amazing week at the Blue Mar, great room with fantastic sea view. For breakfast there was plenty of choice, with omelettes cooked to order. We stayed on a half board basis and the a la carter menu suited us for the week, the menu rotated every three days. A great hotel, quiet and really comfortable sun lounges but you have to be down early to reserve one.
The hotel is infront of the sea so all rooms have great sea view. The beach infront of the hotel is awesome. There are also a few nice restaurants very close to the hotel. The only thing is that the rooms need to be renewed as bathrooms look quite old style. Overall I had a great experience.
This is our third visit to Blue Mar and once agin cannot fault it. Upgraded us to a suite overlooking the whole bay. Fantastic. Breakfast superb. Reasonable bar prices and very friendly staff. They are the same ones that have always been there. In fact we love it so much we have booked again.
Lovely boutique hotel on beach in nice resort, friendly staff. Great location for Andratx Golf Course and only a short taxi journey to Andratx Marina with its restaurants and bars. plenty of sunbeds around pool and really relaxed atmosphere
Great hotel in a perfect location. Close to the beach and resort centre with everything you need for a great holiday. Hotel staff were very helpful and cheerful, breakfast was fabulous. Many good restaurants in the immediate area for a nice meal in the evenings. Loved it !
The hotel is in a lovely spot and we found the property itself to be very attractive. Rooms were cleaned every day to a high standard. The food however was awful and spoilt our enjoyment of the holiday. I complained to the under manager whilst I was there and found his attitude upsetting and unhelpful.
