Full entertainment program organised by Martin, bar staff wonderfull, Gonzalo,Tamara, and Michael make you very welcome. only critism, would be no tea making in your room?, Within walking distance to beach and shops,
I've written this review based on the price of €670 for 4 nights and taking into account that it's a four star hotel. The hotel is situated by a busy road in a residential area with some restaurants and bars near by. There isn't a view of the beachfront from the room but it's just a short walk away. You can get a bus to the marina from outside the hotel which has a number of restaurants. The rooms are noisy as the walls are thin. Our next door neighbour kept me up with their snoring followed by their TV at 7.30am each morning. You can also hear traffic noise and people in the corridor. You have to pay to use the safe, the minibar is empty and water at the bar is more than €2. There isn't tea or coffee in the room and you will need to order a extra pillow. If you want a towel for the pool, you pay a deposit followed by a charge to replace them. The breakfast buffet is good and they take your coffee order at the table but you have to get up and get your own milk. You get the same table each day. If this hotel was closer to €500 for 4 nights I'd have given it 4 stars. The staff are very good and helpful but it's not worth the money I paid.
I booked this hotel purely based on the amazing TripAdvisor reviews but I can't say I feel as positive about my experience at this hotel. Firstly, I found the check in a very cold and abrupt experience. The Receptionist made me feel very unwelcomed. I did have few questions in regards to the tourist tax (I thought it was included but it wasn't and I just wanted to clarify this) the receptionist just very abruptly said this is your bill and you have to pay it. Of course I would have paid it I was simply trying to work out what is that I was paying for. Not a very good first impression I must admit. Then the negatives just followed on. The room we have been give was very noisy due to the main road nearby, even with the closed windows you can hear the traffic noise which I am not used to. You can hear your neighbours TV and we were very unlucky to have been next to a very early bird watching news at 7am! The walls are not soundproof at all!! The bed is very hard and I found it super uncomfortable ( I don't know how no one else mentioned this in previous reviews) I have been told that the reception cannot provide me with an extra duvet as the cleaning lady have gone home. They did bring an extra blanked though which I was grateful for, although it didn't make much diffetence. Also the pillows are flat and not the most comfy ones either. No kettle for tea or coffee in the room. No mini bar. You have to pay to use the safe and pool towels, something that all 4 star hotels I have stayed in, provide at no extra charge. Also no towels at the SPA. We have asked to be moved to a quiter room which was accommodated but then had 2 seprete beds and an aircon that made a squeaky noise. The good bits are: the breakfast is very good, the 3 pools are nice with loads of sunbeds, the snack bar has nice selection of good, the bar staff very efficient and friendly ( unlike the reception ) but all the bad outshines the good especially. I would most definitelly not stay here again. I don't usually spend much time in a hotel room on holiday as I am alwayd out and about but the comfort of the bed is a must and this hotel sadly lacks it. The location is good for the beach but if you are looking for more than a handful of restaurants nearby I would recommend syaying closer tl Alcudia Old Town and the port.
Excellent stay from when we arrived at 12.30am to be greeted with freshly cooked food - very, very welcome! Really enjoyed our stay. Staff excellent and very friendly. Would definitely stay again. Only disappointment throughout whole stay was first aid by the pool was non-existent after an elderly gentleman hurt himself.
Enjoyed everything about this hotel. No need to rush for that sun bed. Plenty of choice around the pools or a short stroll to the beach. Hotel is fabulous, very cool and stylish public areas. Large rooms with big walk in showers. Excellent facilities. If I was the manager I would feel immensely proud of the staff. They were so friendly and fun. Thank you to Michael for the recommendations of the local Gin! (Head still recovering). The bar staff are the nicest ever. Very smart too. Lunchtimes we enjoyed sharing a freshly made pizza from the pool side kitchen. Best ever I have tasted. Breakfasts and evening meals were amazing, so much choice and nice to be allocated a table for our stay. Welcomed each night on arrival at dinner, very nice touch. I cannot wait to return.
I've just returned from a 8 night stay at this hotel with my sister and it was probably one of the best hotels I've stayed in. The hotel is beautifully decorated, the grounds are well maintained and it is immaculately clean. It is close to the beach and with a bus stop right outside, the island can be easily and cheaply explored. The food was varied and tasty and there was something for everyone. The deserts were a particular favourite of ours (especially the chocolate fountain). There was no need to be up early in the morning to reserve a sun bed as there were 3 pools and plenty to go around. There is entertainment in the evenings and the drinks prices are reasonable (with very large measures), so if you don't want to venture out, you really don't have to. The biggest asset though for this hotel, is its staff. They have to be the nicest, most accommodating, hardest working, friendly hotel staff I have ever met from the receptionists, cleaners, waiter/waitresses, bar staff, entertainment to the hotel manager who was very visible around the hotel. I would especially like to mention Dominick, Michael and Gonzalo from the bar and Malena our waitress in the dining room, who made our week that much more enjoyable. The only thing I would suggest would be to put a kettle in the room. It would have been nice to have a coffee on the balcony before breakfast when we first woke up.
Grupotel Maritimo is a bright and clean hotel but positioned in a residential area and a 5 minute walk to the beach across a busy road. The view of the sea is obscured by another hotel the Condesa de la Bahja which is on the beach. Check in is very slow with cash deposits required for use of room safe and to get a beach towel (for which you pay €1 to have a fresh one). All 3 pools are small but when we visited the hotel was quiet so finding a sun lounger was not a problem. On half board we found the breakfast and dinner menus good. The big disappointment was the rooms which are missing some of the basics - no drawers apart from the shallow ones in the bedside tables, no full length wardrobe for hanging a dress or trousers and no pen and pad for jotting notes. In the bathroom there is no box of tissues supplied, no shaving / magnifying mirror and the mirror on the wall is positioned quite far back, no adequate storage space for cosmetics despite the fact that there is plenty of space under the wash hand basin and no hook on the back of the bathroom door to hang anything, A nice enough hotel but plenty of irritants - for this price it should have a higher spec!
This hotel is brilliant - from the friendly helpful staff who went out of their way to ensure everyone was well catered for, to the cleanliness. The location is perfect, the beach is across the road from the hotel and there is a bus stop outside with bus routes to Port Alcudia and Puerto Pollensa. There are plenty of bars, shops and restaurants within minutes of the hotel .. we can recommend El Patio - possibly the best steak I have ever had! The floridita beach bar (within 5minutes walk from the hotel) is also a great choice. We went on a Robinsons boat trip and also went to the pirate show - both were well worth the money - the pirate show was amazing . All in all, we cannot fault this hotel - and the staff absolutely make it! Special mention to Jose, Michael, Gonzales and the entertainment manager, Martin. We will definitely return.
Stayed here for a week in Aug 2017 on the recommendation from a work colleague and it was what we expected and more! The hotel was spotless. Bright and airy reception area and very welcoming front of house staff. Staff always had a smile on there faces and would always say hello. Buffet style breakfast and dinner. Great selection, could have something different every day and still not have tried everything. Quality of food and cleanliness of the dining area superb. Shops, bars, restaurants and beach a 5min stroll away. Was that good, the day we got back we looked at booking for next year but only for longer. (Only downfall is the lifts) but I really wouldn't let this take away from how good the maritimo is.
Just returned from a week in Alcudia and what a hotel this was absolutely fantastic. From the moment we got there until the end we were well looked after the staff from reception to bar and restaurant are amazing nothing was any trouble no matter what you asked for. Hotel decorated brilliant 3 pools and plenty of sunbeds which you could get anytime of day nobody rushing around putting towels on beds or anything amazing. Restaurant was well run and food always looks delicious especially the sweets 😁 and didn't disappoint, rooms beautiful I could go on and on reviewing this place as we couldn't find a single fault with it would definitely recommend this hotel Spotless and couple of minutes from beach so location good also will definitely return sometime in the future.
