Grupotel Acapulco Playa - Adults only

I booked this hotel for its proximity to Palma for a weekend break and because it was adult-only, and I was not disappointed. Location wise it is ideal if one wants to be away from the city centre but with easy access via the excellent and cheap public transport system. The hotel is right on the promenade overlooking the beach. It appears to have been recently renovated with spacious and smart public areas and an excellent bar area. Our bedroom was a seaview room on the first floor which had access to a sunbathing area specifically for bedrooms on our level. The bedroom was compact but spacious enough and decked out with ambient lighting, a large flat-screen tv and a clean and spacious bathroom with excellent shower. The patio doors led to a small seating area and then up a couple of steps to the exclusive decked sunbathing area. My only gripe with the room was a lack of tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel is obviously geared towards German customers (as is the Playa de Palma resort) and we were the only non-Germans in the hotel at the time of our visit. This did not in any way affect the excellent quality and friendliness of service we received from all of the hotel staff whether it was the chamber maid, bar and restaurant staff or reception. Nothing was too much trouble. I honestly cannot understand the poor reviews from the UK reviewers. Breakfast was included in our deal and again, it did not disappoint. Choice, quality and quantity of the hot and cold buffet was excellent. We didn't take an evening meal in the restaurant as we preferred to eat out but the menu looked to be good value. The bar served reasonably priced drinks and one could also get food until 3.30 pm. Service in the bar was particularly friendly and very efficient. Entertainment of fair quality was provided on each night of our stay. It was certainly on a par with that in hotels claiming to be of higher star rating. A plus for a winter stay was the indoor pool area. The pool was a bit small for a decent swim but it was clean and heated. The area also contained a sauna, steam room and a large jacuzzi. Robes and towels are available for a refundable deposit. One aspect of a difference of cultures between us Brits and the German clientele was the ease in which some German guests were happy to wander around the pool and sauna area in the nude. It didn't bother us particularly but others may be offended. Being situated on a long flat promenade area running all the way to S'Arenal one way and to Palma the other way, the hotel was well situated for pleasant walks by the sea. Bikes are popular in the area and one could hire bikes directly from the hotel. As mentioned previously, public transport is excellent with frequent and cheap services to Palma and beyond. Being January, much of Playa de Palma was closed but there were enough shops and restaurants to choose from. One restaurant in particular, the Sirocco, was an unassuming Spanish bar/restaurant that served good value and good quality Spanish and other dishes. Back to the hotel there were a couple of gripes. It does seem petty on behalf of the hotel to charge for the room safe and for wi-fi. Even so, overall the hotel is very good indeed and I would not hesitate to go back.

booked last minute to go to this hotel if you are british dont go there .the hotel itself is nice but NOone SPEAKS english the waiters receptionists no one it was awful .the hotel is full of german people who were very ignorant not one person spoke to us all the food was german there was no british food at all except the fruit.THE bars shops were all german based honestly i have never felt so intimidated in all my life no one spoke to us or understood us i would never ever go back there again if the hotel was free .honestly if you are british dont go there

The rooms are extra small, so we had to ask for a different room, very dark, not possible to read in the room, lots of German TV channels but only one working in English, asked two times if possible to fix an extra channel in English...never was, deposit box/safe is in each room but for an extra fee, as well as bathrobes (we booked via booking.com so it should be stated that extra fee is required), no parking around, breakfast very basic and I do not even want to imagine the dinners, not really possible to keep expensive bike - no garage provided, an ok place but we will not be back and opt for Iberostar which we visited before

We stayed here for 3 nights in early December and cannot fault the hotel. Not sure if we would like the resort in the summer months but we found it a lovely winter destination. We stayed in room 441 which had a large balcony with sun beds. Although winter we did manage to use them for a while one morning. The promenade is right outside the hotel and you can walk to either S’Arenal or the other way to Palma. We hired bikes and cycled to Palma along the cycle route which had some nice places to stop on the way. The bar and staff were excellent and we enjoyed the entertainment at night. Also this hotel is very warm and comfortable and we will return.

Superb food on restaurant ! Good location. Perfect beach ! We were late arrival and missed our paid dinner and there was no cold food packet in our room. Small room with noisy air-conditioning system. No free parking. No free sunbeds on the beach infront. Very unfriendly staff !

Gorgeous female at front desk blond blue eyes fit, Had to mention her beauty Only encountered Bad staff in restaurant bald dude, think he is a tough guy, bar man at pool attitude served me fresh orange juice warm, no ice staff the small cutie in restaurants was amazing, she should get promoted as she was always with a warm smile x Beds were okay not Marriott but okay not great AC in hotel rooms looby but I'm Scottish I appreciate very much the front desk male who made my room stay the same, you know who you are and what I mean, I really appreciated it so 🙏 The pool is great you can just swim lengths or chill Noise from outside is not bad at all considering the beach and roads, it's pretty silent Hall corridors noise was good, the sound of furniture can be heard but the neighbours in adjoining rooms can't reallly be heard, Ideal hotel for couples, mainly I was a loner all alone lol Food was great in restaurants and bars etc and fairly priced all over hotel Black out blinds are not 100% but it's still okay, the shower is very good large and powerful good for couples he he as large The beach is like 20 yards from the front door to the sand Hope that helps, sucks going on holiday alone though The rest were all nice inc cleaners,

My friend and I chanced upon this hotel while in Mallorca. The location is close to the airport and just a few steps to the sea. There is a road/promenade to cross to get to the beach, with little motorised traffic but hundreds of bikes passing throughout the day. It's a great place for a stroll, and I felt safe while doing so. Our room was standard sized and clean. It did not have coffee/tea making faciities, however, I did see the front desk giving a kettle to someone who requested one. There is a safe in the room to use free of charge. Wi-fi, however, was not free, which I found very odd for a hotel of this calibre. The breakfast had a nice variety of options: several hot options (with one option being created personally if desired), good fruit selection, and lots of cold meats and cheeses. There was a bit of a change up daily with the hot options, which was good to see. We only had one evening meal in the hotel (on our last night), and I wish we'd had more. There was a very decent selection of food and the price was very reasonable. If you're going to partake of the evening meals, purchase them when you check in to save some money! The BEST part of the hotel was the incredibly wonderful staff. From the warm welcome we received to the helpfulness when we asked questions, nothing was too much. A special mention goes to Mateo in the restaurant, who greets you like an old friend and makes you feel like you're the most important person there. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Hotel without children, very relaxed and clean. We had a very nice stay for 1 weel. Meals are perfect and cookes well ! Swiming (warm) pool inside, outside swimingpool was yet to cold. We had vieuw at the beach sea. You can walk allong the sea in the nice pavement. Everywhere nice vieuws.

The rooms were clean and spacious and the bathroom and double shower were super. There were two negatives however. Firstly, there was no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, which to us is a disappointment as we enjoy our morning cup of tea in bed prior to going down to breakfast. To compound matters, the hotel, although claiming 4* status, does not have room service. So take your own travel kettle. Secondly, we had requested a double bed as we are a tactile couple. What we got in fact were two fully made up single beds pushed together with sheets tightly tucked in. A let down for our Valentine holiday. Breakfast was a continental buffet, geared mainly to the high German clientele, with plenty of fresh meats, cheeses, cereal and fruit. There was a plentiful supply of croissants and pain au chocolate. The evening meal at the restaurant was ok being buffet style, with sufficient choice to satisfy most tastes. The bar was a pleasant place for an evening drink, with outdoor tables for warmer nights. It also serves reasonably priced snacks in the afternoon as the hotel does not cater for lunches. For beach lovers the municipal beach opposite the hotel is fantastic. Travel into Palma town could not be easier. There is a bus stop outside the hotel with buses 15 and 25 serving the town. The number 15 is the stopping service and takes about half an hour, whereas number 25 is the express and takes half the time. Both buses charge a flat fare of 1.50 euros, which is very good value. Reception can advise timetables. The general ambience of the hotel was fine but due to the room issues would probably not stay there again.

Couldn't fault hotel although when booking through booking.com the only facilities is for bed & breakfast. Evening meal is available at €20 for buffet. Number 25 bus goes to palma old town worth a look
