Visited this hotel at end end of March this year 2018 for 5 days over Easter. On arrival was offered a glass of Cava which was a lovely touch. I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, reception and staff were really friendly and helpful. My partner told them it was my birthday and the hotel staff organised a bottle of cava on ice in my room and a note from my the team wishing me happy birthday, it was a wonderful surprise. On the days we managed to leave the gorgeous surroundings of the hotel we would order a taxi to the old town which was around a 5-10 minutes at the most drive away. The pool area and spa area were amazing, I didn’t get any treatments at the spa just relaxed at the spa pool which was really enjoyable. It really is the perfect place to relax, enjoy and be pampered.

This trip was a free stay on account of building work when I stayed at the hotel the year before. I was over the moon to receive an upgrade to one of the new suites on checkin, it really was a nice surprise - large space with separate living area and dressing area with a TV in the ceiling no less over the bed! Great views out to the Cathedral and the harbour with all the cruise ships and mega yachts. The hotel is classic hotel which has updated its image with contemporary rooms and suites over the last few years and caters to an older crowd. The spa is terrific with a maze of hot and cold self treatment rooms and saunas. The pool scene has wonderful gardens and the comfiest Su beds I’ve experienced - deep padded on robust mental frames. The beds are not closely packed as in many Med hotels but you feel you have a nice amount of personal space. The breakfast is pretty epic with such an array of juices to pastries to hot food for Asian and European tastes. The hotel is quiet and quite secluded with no shops or restaurants around the hotel (although Porto li shopping centre is a fifteen minute walk or five minutes in a cab). I enjoy each time I stay here and would definitely recommend it if you want to relax by the pool or spa for a week.

This has been recently refurbished and the rooms are BEAUTIFUL. Very elegant, comfortable, CLEAN and with good facilities. Very impressed. Fabulous view over Palma. Spa one of the best ones I have been in, beautiful. Fabulous breakfast buffet. Just love everything about it. Don’t want to leave.

Myself & three girlfriends stayed last weekend for a spa weekend booked through Secret Escapes. We were offered Cava on arrival before heading up to our deluxe, sea facing rooms on the 6th floor. Breakfast was buffet style with a wide variety of fresh fruit, cheeses, meats, breads & also a gluten free area. Eggs could be cooked any way, including omelettes & pancakes. There was also a selection of cooked breakfast items . The evening meal was from a set menu with 3 choices for starter, main & desert, all presented & served as expected. Entertainment was available in the evening. All staff were extremely helpful at all times. Lovely spa area, with treatments available .

Stayed for a week and was amazed how friendly and efficient staff other hotels could learn a lot from this place Nothing is too much trouble little bit of heaven . Nice and spacious and outdoor areas are large pools are lovely

We booked here as I’ve had work colleagues stay here for an overseas event and loved it and we got a good deal as it was January. It’s a bit out of the way from the city itself but if you don’t mind walking (we didn’t) it’s not too bad, or you can grab a taxi or the bus right outside the hotel if you wish. The service was top notch, we were offered a drink on arrival and started our stay with a glass of cava. The bistro bar is a little bit expensive but you pay for the convenience in hotels and the service was great and friendly at all times. The breakfast was really good and with views overlooking the port and into old town it was lovely. We needed some help with our telly remote (batteries died) and had it sorted in a few minutes! Absolutely brilliant service all around and very happy we stayed here.

Stayed here for the first time last weekend, and the experience in general was very good, but there were just a few things that shouldn't be found at a 5-star hotel. The good things included the amazing staff on reception and in the bars, the food was great (both breakfast and dinner, as well as the food in the bar next to reception - one of the best tortilla española I've ever tasted!). The spa is excellent, with some great facilities (the herb room and the salt room were amazing). However, the floor here was dangerously slippy and a couple of time I almost fell over - I think there should be someone cleaning more often. Take care while there!! Also, the receptionist refused to give us a robe for the spa, and in a very rude manner, even though we were speaking in Spanish. The room was very good, but definitely not the "executive" that we had booked. Also, some parts of the hotel need renovating, as they feel a bit 1970s. In short, a great hotel and it's a shame that I had to mention some negatives, but if they were addressed, then this would be an excellent!

This is the third time in 3 years that we have returned to this hotel and again were not disappointed. For some £550 for 3 nights including flights (4-7 Jan 2018) then this is outstanding value at a 5 star hotel. Rooms are very well appointed as you would expect for a hotel such as this and have every luxury you can think of except no coffee/tea making machine! There are swimming pools at two levels outside in the extensive well-manicured grounds and the gardens are very well thought out. If it is Spa , and or gym that you seek then this place has everything you can think of with every type of gym equipment , steam room , sauna ., quiet room, and so on and so on .It is all free to use. This being said then treatments are not cheap but are indeed very good. The guys will get many brownie points with their loved ones if they splash out on a treatment . So, then what did we find? Well, the reception got us mixed up with aa previous client which lead to confusion. Not a good start ! This being said then the reception is ultra-efficient as is the service in either the restaurant, and Bistro the two places to eat. The food is good in either but well overpriced in the restaurant as unless you get a breakfast ‘deal’ prior to visit then it can cost you around £25 pp a ridiculous amount to pay. The Bistro is fairly priced has excellent staff and is the place to eat. I must say that I am quite surprised by those who say ‘it is on hill’ or ‘along way out of town’. Why not do some homework prior to booking it might help you to make a more informed choice. It’s is another very good experience for us and we will be back again later in the year.

We have been coming to Palma for several years now in December to do some Christmas shopping and enjoy the climate but this is the first time we have stayed at the Valparaiso. What a treat! First of all the hotel is a little out of the Port but the benefit is it is SO quiet. The public areas are beautifully decorated and the Christmas decorations were so tasteful. We had a choice of rooms so we opted for a sea view and it was very comfortable, good beds and a large bathroom. Perfect to return to after a day shopping! The breakfast choices were extensive and we were spoilt for choice and everything was fresh and tasty, particularly enjoyed the mini Danish pastries! We used the indoor pool and spa every morning and it was a huge bonus, the facility was luxurious. We will definitely be returning to the Valparaiso. All members of staff were helpful, polite and professional.

Room: looks like from the nineties - smelly carpet and nothing feels 5* Service: ok but again not 5* - feels more like a 3* hotel as it is defo not gentlemen serving ladies and gentleman Location: Close to palma and good view on Palma bay Breakfast: Good. But that was the only thing. Would never return to this hotel. Has zero Spanish feel and could be anywhere in the world. Not my cup of tea.
