really, this hotel is the top class restaurant and hotel in the city. super famous, very well promoted. the restaurants food upstairs is ok ! compliments to the chef they know what theyre doing but im sorry to say that you chefs dont have the right service of waiters to follow their hard work. the waiters are acting like they're working or interested in the client, everything comes late, not in order even the dishes come separably, which is left to believe that its the kitchens fault but its not! actually the waiters are forgetting all the time, or they just really take their time! plus what is it that every 2 min you come and ask if the meal is ok or if all is alright ? once i said ' no its not ok " and he kept going on " ok great sir, enjoy' very robotic behavior its a 5 star, behave like one. we're certainly paying the price for it! and what is with one waiter and a trainee, doing more work that the waiter ? why is there a trainee in a 5 star restaurant anyway, i mean this trainee is 15 years old, and they have like 5 of those. a trainee is not supposed to serve in a 5 star restaurant.

We stayed one night after our dive trip and this was a wonderful place to relax and get ready for the long trek home. From the rooftop pool and restaurant to the Lime restaurant on the second floor the amenities were great. Breakfast buffet was a wide range of cuisine and delicious coffee. The hotel staff was professional and helpful, always with a smile. The accommodated our free airport transfers via high speed boat and allowed late checkout for a reasonable charge. Free WiFi was fast.

My husband I needed a hotel just for one night in Male. Hotel Jen was great! They have a speed boat that is complimentary to hotel guest for arrivals and departures to and from the airport. The hotel is super clean and was very nice. We arrived late at night but decided to walk around and explore, The president's house is just down the street as well as a huge mosque. There are some great restaurants that are open super late right next to the hotel as well. The Hotel has a nice gym and a cool infinity pool on the roof.

I'm usually accustomed to a certain standard of service at Hotel Jen. And this did not live up to it. We checked in on Dec 8 - on my husband's birthday, overnight. Let's start with the good - the guy who received us at the airport (local guy Roth curly hair) was friendly and hospitable. As was the porter. The rooms were very serviceable, functional and clean. Considering the price. What we did not appreciate, was the front desk first claiming they did not have my husband's booking - so it took us about an hour, late at night, after a long flight, to check in. Turns out - the girl only looked for my husband's booking with one section of his name, and didn't try other options. And kept insisting that we didn't have a booking. I asked to try a couple of combinations, which of course, then worked. But that was just the beginning. After we settled into our rooms. My sister and mother were kept up to about 2 or 3am, as the concierge kept calling her room, insisting that she had made two bookings. My sister had only made one, via a particular website. And had the reference number to prove it. The lady at reception insisted that there were two bookings. Get this - because she had a copy of my mother's passport, and because my mother's maiden surname matched that of the other booking. (And no - they had entirely different names. Only the same surname) So she called my sister 3-4 times during the night. And also, insisted that my sister had to pay for that room also. She also passed the phone to the duty manager who then said, that yes, we had to pay for it. And if we had any qualms, we had to settle it ourselves with the other website. Though, we were not allowed to have the booking number or information of the other booking at all - for us to call to rectify / cancel the booking - as that information was private. So basically. A rock and a hard place. Eventually they found the missing room owner. And all they did was barely apologize for the inconvenience and keeping my mom and sis up all night. That said - they arranged our transfers to our other hotel smoothly. And for that, we are grateful. Because I definitely was not impressed.

We came for one night on our way from Singapore and so arrived in Male after nearly 22 hours travelling. Transfer to the hotel by boat was easy and we checked in about midnight. Our room was fine although for some reason an extra rollaway bed had been put in which took up much of the free space. It was too late to have it removed though. Breakfast was more than adequate and we had time to walk along the front before transferring back to the airport for our flight on to Gan. For an overnight stop the Jen was ideal although check-in and out were a bit slow.

We stayed here for one night on our way to the island resort. Seaplanes to resorts fly from Male during specific times, which may be outside the international flight arrival time. In that case it is best to stay in Male for a night before taking the seaplane. That was our situation when we chose to stay for a night at Hotel Jen Male. Having said that, if we go back we will absolutely choose this hotel again! The hospitality starts with your arrival in Male airport. The Jen Male boat staff whisk you away into their boat that gets you to the hotel in a beautiful 5-10 mins boat ride. They then take you to the hotel that is less than 2 mins walk from the boat landing. They have a lovely cafe in the lobby area and beautiful pool side bar on the roof top. Food is expensive, as is everything in Maldives. The staff at reception are VERY helpful. Room service was prompt and tasty. They also got us to the Male airport the next day early in the morning for our seaplane. Overall a WONDERFUL stay and will recommend this place to anyone!

I came here to get a view from the rooftop, and I was not disappointed. The rooftop pool and viewing area provides wonderful photo ops of Male, and the staff had no problem that I was not staying at the hotel. I was quite pleased with this place, and I will seriously consider staying here next time.

They offer speed boat pickup drop from the airport. Hotel is located in capital island. 10 minutes ride from the airport. The staff at the reception were so courteous and their response and hospitality were top class. The amenities in the room alarm were great. The breakfast menu at the restaurant was not that wide but some delicious food was there. Have a pool on the top floor and not all the rooms have sea view. Had a query on my loyalty membership, when enquired promptly replied. A great service. And they belong to Shangri-La chain of hotels.

I needed a decent hotel for one night while in this capital city. Didn't want a budget hotel and wasn't looking for a 5 star resort. Just needed a nice, clean, comfortable room that wouldn't kill my back and had air conditioning. Hotel Jen exceeded my expectations! The host was right there at the airport to meet my flight. He escorted me to their boat transfer. Super easy. Wasn't more than :10 minutes. After a quick ride via boat, we were then transferred to a van and a short :10 later, we arrived at the hotel. Super nice, clean lobby. The front desk staff were super amazing! Check in was a breeze. My room was more than I expected. I'm a road warrior and travel every week so I have low tolerance for shabby rooms. The rooftop pool was small but who goes to the Maldives to go to a pool? The front desk team made a recommendation to make a day trip to a nearby island for a beach day and it was fun! Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for a business traveller or a night or two stay prior to heading to one of the resorts.

Came here for Sunday lunch during a business trip to Malé. Azur is a fantastic roof top restaurant, next to the infinity pool. Wonderful ambience, excellent food and service. Samantha, the Sri Lankan waiter especially helpful.
