Arrived just before midnight, receptionist very welcoming and provided the information needed to get us started. Room is spacious and spotlessly clean. Mini supermarket next door opens late. We sort of panicked about hotel choice when reading the previous 4 or 5 recent reviews but to be honest, people need to stop over exaggerating and bare face lying about hotels on trip advisor.

We arrived at MS ALAY apartments , in the evening reception staff were friendly and helpful, get to our room which was clean and tidy, we stayed for 10 nights, cleaners were awful, as we went to the beach most days and they was sand from our feet and towels this was not swept or moped the floor were dirty though out our stay as well as our beds they were made every 2/3 days but the sheets were never changed as they was tomato sauce stains on them the beds are not very comfortable either!! The balcony we had was ok!! There was only 2 seats and there was 3 of us!! The kettle in the kitchen was broken which was replaced and then the new kettle caused the electric to stop working!! (Tripped the fuse!!) The poolside/ pool bar!! The pool opens at 10 there is fencing around the pool with is locked until 10am!! There was also grit at the bottom of the pool, as we watched the pool cleaner each morning not doing very much had a hose and wash the floor around the pool with water only! And then sprinkled power chlorine from a bucket like (feeding the birds) no such thing as a net or a hose to suck the dirt out! The life guard was there everyday but was useless more a job description of a poolside helper she spent the day lifting out sun loungers and getting the money off people for them as each bed cost €1.80 each!!! Per day!! This in my opinion is unacceptable as you have paid for the holiday u shouldn't have to pay to lay at the pool as well!! The pool is a shared "communal" pool where there are locals who live in the flats/apartment around the pool and have full use of it and also the ms alay hotel have full use of it too, where the people who stay in the ms alay apartments don't have the use of the hotel pool down the road!! The "lifeguard" also likes to go Into the reception quite a few times daily not sure what for!! And likes to sit at the pool bar for cups of coffee chatting!! The pool bar opens at 12-8 there is no music and no one is allows to have there own food or drink as everything has to be bought at the pool bar! The food is just ok!! Location Is good just a short walk to the beach and the marina Would not stay again nor would I recommend.....

Reception friendly, room basic but clean, good air conditioning & great location. It was a cheap 4 nights away for us so wasn't expecting too much. No hairdryer or iron in room although I'm sure you could have asked reception. Kettle and toaster was the cheapest of the cheap and had to get a replacement when the kettle broke. Our fridge wouldn't stay closed half the time. Beds a bit too hard for me, pool area okay, bar didn't open until 12 and your asked not to bring your own food or drink down but we still did. My one major problem staying at this apartment was the noise. We faced onto the main road which was busy, we were near the elevator which was also very noisy and there was a lot of noise from people returning to their apartments at night.

Great location next to the port and the square. Although the square can get a bit noisy as people return in the early hours we'd still go back. Spacious room with everything you need. Overall a lovely holiday.

This is by far the worst place we have stayed. During our week there 3 days in a row the rooms were not cleaned even though we clearly hung out the sign. No fresh towels, 1 toilet roll given per apartment and is ment to last 2 days or 4 in our case as they ignore our cleaning sign. Reception didn't care when we complained. Both my husband and I came home covered in bug beds(confirmed by gp) there's only about 30 sun beds in the whole complex and sweet Jesus the noise. It's not one bit sound proof, the people beside above and below you might aswell be in the room with you and that's no exaggeration. 24/7 people running up and down the halls shouting and roaring with nothing said to them by staff. We came back stressed and tired out of our minds. Avoid this place like the plague!!!!

Oh my god, where do we begin! I suppose with the positives because there are so few. Location to beach and Benalmadena marina is good. 5 minutes walk to both. That's where it ends for us. It's located very near the 24H square so you would expect a bit of noise but we could never be prepared for what we experienced. The noise is 24H's also. I don't know what this hotel is built from but it sounds like cardboard and ply wood. You can hear every single sound from every single room around you. Rooms beside, rooms above, rooms below. People's conversations can be heard and I've never come across a rowdier place in all my life. 24H's a day people are roaring, shouting and talking at the top of their voices in the hall ways don't mind the drunken revellers singing and chanting out on the streets all night long. Doors slamming, opening, slamming again, even the lock being turned has the most obnoxious sound. One semi English channel on tv. Wifi is €20 for the week if you want access in your room and it's a complete waste of money. Fridge wouldn't stay closed, we had to prop a chair against it. Beds are horrible and slide around the floor with every movement. We got stuck in the lift twice for over 5 minutes each time. The cleaning service is supposed to be every second day but it is not. A single roll of toilet paper between two people for three days just doesn't cut it as they are tiny. I have no problem using the same towels two days in a row but three/four days doesn't cut it. Beds were turned down using the same sheets for the entire week, disgusting! The pool is grand but no music, no entertainment, no control over children bombing in beside people or diving in across them, one child nearly knocked my wife unconscious with their knee diving over her. We have children of our own so we understand children will be children but the carry on is down right dangerous. Women walking around topless which to us, was highly inappropriate in the company of children. The staff don't want to hear about complaints, they simply don't care. We wanted to leave after one day but wasn't willing to leave the extortionate price we'd paid behind. We came here for rest and relaxation but now need to recover from this horrible experience.

Lovely hotel with brilliant staff who are very helpful to guests. Brilliant location for the marina and beach 5 minutes down the road, and the all night party square 5 minutes up the road. Nice rooms well kept with good room facilities, pool view side doesn't get much sun but the front gets it all day and the people watching in the evening is good fun. Hotel could do with somewhere for people to meet up with other guests in the evenings and all tho there is a shop right next door a few vending machines might be good. Washing machine and tumble drier available cheaply in hotel.

I stayed here for 10 nights in a studio. Prior to arrival, I emailed and requested a quiet room overlooking the pool. I was advised this could not be guaranteed. I ended up on the 3rd floor overlooking the busy road. However, it wasn't a problem. I was never disturbed by street noise and the sun was on the balcony til late evening. My view to the left was the sea and to the right, it was a mountain. It was actually quite good fun to sit and people watch. The air con was probably the best I've ever had in Spain. It was wonderful to walk in to after the heat outside. The studio was spacious enough for 3 people. There was enough wardrobe and storage space too. The kitchen area was compact but perfectly adequate for our needs. I found all the reception staff to be so helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them. The same can not be said of the man who runs the pool bar with his (wife)? He wasn't very friendly at all. I understand this amenity operates separately from the apartments - it didn't open until noon each day and closed at 8pm. The food there was reasonably priced and the drinks were €6 for a spirit and mixer. The pool area was lovely - grassy with plenty of beds. You pay €1.80 a day for a sunbed but do get a foam mattress so it's nice and comfy. The pool itself is a good size and was always a good temperature. The location of this accommodation is brilliant. It's a 5 minute walk to the Marina and beach, a 2 minute walk to '24 hour square' and there are plenty of shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants in the immediate area. I would definitely stay here again if I was going to Benalmadena.

Get place to stay. Rooms exceptionally clean, really helpful receptionist. Surrounding grass area and pool areas well maintained. This complex is situated on the border of the old town and new town. Both within easy walking distance. I highly recommend this, as a relaxing holiday.
