Vies, aftands en onveilig

Vies, aftands en onveilig appartement. Restanten urine op de wc’s, haren in bad, oven niet schoon, in de douche een gebruikt stukje zeep. Afvoer wastafel zo verkalkt, dat het water niet weg kon lopen. Ook zijn de stoelen niet schoon en zit er een scheur in de bank. Dit hebben wij, globetrotters, nog nooit meegemaakt. Op onze klachten werd niet gereageerd. Maar wel werd zonder toelichting de 100 pond borg afgeboekt van onze creditcardrekening. Verder was de buurt erg onveilig. Het appartement lag op een soort industrieterrein tegenover een opslagloods. Als we dat hadden geweten, hadden we nooit geboekt. Maar dat konden we ook niet weten, want het adres op de website van Hotels.com, via wie we geboekt hadden, was niet de locatie van het appartement. Die werd ons pas 45 minuten tevoren doorgegeven. Tijdens ons verblijf kwamen wel 5 politie-auto’s langs om iemand te zoeken. Dat geeft al aan wat voor buurt het is. Parkeren kon ook niet veilig. Rhinos wilde dat we bij de opslagloods parkeerden, zonder enige sociale controle. Maar met een volle auto gingen we dat echt niet doen. Toen ik in de parkeergarage wilde parkeren, liep iemand de parkeergarage in, weer uit en ging toen bellen. Geen goed gevoel. Dan maar parkeren in een secured parking op 10 minuten lopen.
