We spent a night here after a vehicle breakdown. We and our dog were made very welcome, the dinner and breakfast were good, and the 4 person room was spacious, clean and well equipped. The decor in the room was showing a little sign of wear, but that may have been because we had been allocated a "dog room" but I cannot be sure.
We booked this pub as a getaway from home for one night and they totally delivered. Great room, fantastic food and comfortable environment to just relax and sit back and enjoy this Quaint little village. We will definitely book again. Thank you Dog&bear for a lovely break xx
We recently spent a few days at The Dog and Bear , Lenham,we go there as a base for our travels around Kent, but really because Brian and Ann run a great pub.the welcome on arrival is genuine and ongoing during your stay, excellent food although I have to say missed the kippers for breakfast, mind you the local bacon is perfect the best I’ve tasted for a long time.I like to see well run family businesses Brian and Ann run the Dog and Bear as though it was there own great, the beers good too, will be back.
Second time here as before after a long day driving. We rang late to see if there was a family room that would also be pet friendly. To our relief we could not have been made more welcome. Perfect sized room with space heater for instant warmth. Full English breakfast included in the price set us up for the morning. Just what we needed! Thank you
This place is a real gem. So often when you travel with a dog you are allocated a less than satisfactory room. Not so here. We had a great room, were made to feel very welcome and had a lovely dinner and breakfast. Our room had outside space for the dog and was very comfortable. The staff were very good and Lehman is a pretty village. Will definitely visit again.
A Saturday night stay in a pub hotel, this time we ventured in deep Kent and found the Dog and Bear which is overall a good hotel, but our very spacious double room faced the internal courtyard which had very loud customers laughing their heads off till very late. We thought that the hotel needs to make an effort on remembering that not all customers want to stay up all night and so perhaps a 10pm closing of the courtyard could do? The very fluffy and white towels were very good quality BUT the ones for the shower stank of bleach! Too much in fact! It was overpowering.
We arrived and was shown straight to our room, it was large and comfortable, but cold, there was a fan heater in the room to use. We had a couple of drinks in the bar, then went back to our room, the staff were very friendly. The food in the evening was very nice, i had the Hearty curried lentil, tomato & coconut soup for starters which was delicious, my husband had the Chicken Wings that he enjoyed, for the main i had Oven roast chicken schnitzel, which again was lovely, and he had Beef steak and ale pie which he enjoyed. Breakfast had a lot of choices, i went for the Poached Egg on toast with avocado, and Husband had poached eggs on toast, nice Coffee and quality produce. We would be very happy to stay again.
Found this hotel on a recommendation from a local during a stay nearby. Dined there four times during our week's stay, and were very satisfied on each occasion. The dining room is attractive and welcoming, the staff very friendly, helpful and efficient, and the menu choice good. We tried several different meals, and all were well cooked, well presented, and generous portions. Would definitely recommend as a place for a good meal.
Stayed here alone recently - it's old and friendly. Good pub grub and selection of English beers. Near shops and post office and has great parking. It's a quiet village and perfect for a stop off as it's very close to Folkstone. Recommended.
A quirky friendly pub with lots annexes and rooms... The booking in was excellent by a young man who was very helpful, polite and friendly.. The room we had was excellent with a very comfy bed and plenty of room to manoeuvre. There was bottled water, tea and coffee and the bathroom had lots of toiletries ...The only niggle was the shower head that couldn’t be moved to wash lower area 🚿😂.. We managed though 🤣. The restaurant food was very good and so was the service. Breakfast was also very good with a variety to suit everyone.. We will return 😀
