I had a great stay at the hotel. Room was large, elegant and comfortable. Check in and check out were flawless and room service was timely. This is what all hotels should be; there is, however, a price to be paid for this opulence. It is expensive, but I will not complain.

I loved this hotel. Flawless service, spectacular room in a the classiest neighborhood. The attendant at the front desk had been with the hotel for 3 years. She told us that the General Manager started out as a bus boy so knows the hotel very well and runs it like a family. Most have the employees have long tenure too. In 2009 they closed the hotel for 2 years of renovation and they didn't fire ONE staff member. They provided them continuing education from computer training to enhancing language skills. How impressive it that! Once you hear that story, you can understand the pride they all take for delivering trust quality service. The location was prime. Each night we had a cocktail in the lovely bar before venturing out for dinner. One night we go home late and wanted dessert. The restaurant was closing and when we told the manager we just wanted dessert he said, absolutely come on in. He set us up on the outdoor patio and it was beautiful and romantic. Fabulous property from staff to service a real winner.

Fantastic location for the best shops in Madrid. Weekend break (without kids) was superb. The hotel staff here are exceptional, and our room and all the facilities of the hotel were top class. I want to return already!!

My son and daughter-in-law celebrated their wedding at Villa Magna very recently. I couldn't have been happier at the way in which Villa Magna managed this very special occasion. The feast which was served to us was absolutely delicious and the waiting staff were extremely efficient and professional. I cannot think of any aspect of the day that was not faultless and would recommend Villa Magna as a first class hotel for any wedding reception.

Had a great time here and found the staff very helpful. Very nice room and good location that is quiet and inviting. We were able to enjoy Madrid and love a hotel that is not too touristy we felt well taken care of. Loved it

Hotel Villa Magna has beautiful interior and all you can ask for. Inside the hotel Villa Magna you can find one of the best Chinese Restaurant, bar, and El Corte Inglés. The lobby decor is beautiful. The rooms and services are very well taken care of. The location is beautiful. Very quite and not crowded in comparison to El Centro de Madrid. You could walk from this location to El Gran Via, surrounding area you will find bars, restaurants, Salamanca avenue, and small places to sit and relax. If you wish to indulge this hotel is absolutely good and do recommend.

Pretentious is the word I would use for Villa Magna. That's harsh, I know, but they are pretending to deliver a 5 star service. We only stayed one night at Villa Magna en route from Madrid to Barcelona. We had also had a lovely stay at The Principal Madrid before travelling south, so this experience didn't spoil Madrid for us. The fundamentals that they didn't deliver included: No visible room number - we had to remember which room it was (a number of rooms didn't seem to have numbers). No tea or coffee making facilities. I spent 10 minutes looking for them, then rang room service to be told that no, my room doesn't have these facilities. What? Madam, you can request a coffee machine.I ask for a kettle and some English Breakfast tea. They don't have English breakfast tea and they will send me a selection of teas. The Cinnamon tea was very nice, but not quite what I was looking for at that time. Also no milk. No bottled water in the room. We boiled water in the kettle and let it cool. Kinda like camping! They told us that the water is delivered at turn-down service. This service occurred after we had retired for the night. At 4.30am we were woken up by a raised female voice outside our door which continued in an adjacent room for about 1/2 an hour. We suspect this may have been the same woman we saw several times in the lobby demanding loudly that (e.g.) the staff take her shopping to her room (next to ours). While management have no control over guest antics in the early morning, it demonstrated to us the type of person staying at this hotel. There was a surplus of staff who were attentive at breakfast and in the lobby and the food was nice though over-priced. We concluded that the focus of the hotel was to pander to the needs and wants of the pretentious and ostentatious rather than provide a genuine service. We always stay in 'good' hotels and do our research to choose a place that is comfortable if not luxurious. We got this one very wrong.

Nobody wouold suggested that the Vila Magna is by any means 'cheap''s not! But the hotel has had a complete rennovation in recent years, and is comfortable and elegantnin the extreme, and the service is impeccable.

Several of of friends recommended the Villa Magna, so we decided to give it a try, in our previous stays we had chosen the Ritz or the Palace. This will be our choice from now on., the location, the 5+ Star service is well worth it. Make your reservation through Amex Platinum as it is a part of their preferred hotels and you will receive some perks if you reserve through them. If you can afford it don't hesitate!

I would venture to say that the Villa Magna is the best hotel in Madrid. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The beds are very comfortable. The baths are spacious and have lots of amenities. Location is good. The hotel is in the neighborhood known as Salamanca, which is filled with good shopping and restaurants. Not far from the museums and the Retiro Park.
