Clean rooms, ok location, the metro station is like 5-7mins walk, good wifi connection(free), staff are very friendly and can speak English very well. Pool was closed(was advised it be open in summer around July). Overall I will say it's 4/5
Best place on Alcala, very clean, huge rooms, great team, great parking lot. Very cllose to the sub, groceries store near to the hotel, very good restaurants. 24 hour m vigilance, very quite street, Alll good !!!!!!
We stayed here for 3 nights in September. Really nice hotel, non fussy and basic. The hotel isn't located that close to the main square or park, but there is a metro station really close by that will take you straight there and is quite cheap (& easy to use!). The hotel is also located on a steep hill, so probably not the best for the less mobile. There are also plenty of shops and restaurants nearby if you didn't want to venture too far. The hotel was lovely. Massive rooms, 4 of us shared and there was plenty of space. Modern and really clean. There is a small kitchenette in the room, which actually is a bit useless and actually lets the hotel down (otherwise it would be a 4 star review!). You get a sink, fridge & microwave. There is also a coffee machine, but you have to pay €1.50 for the capsules (each). Why on earth there is no proper tea or coffee making facilities I will never know, this is something you get as standard in most hotels anyway. You get a few plates - but no cutlery, so you can't even make some cereal in the morning - so basically, the kitchen is a useless feature in the room. Breakfast is available room the hotel (I think it's around €7-€8), offers mainly continental - not actually worth the money if like me a pastry and coffee is enough, but there was no option given just for that (Hence why more facilities in the room would have been nice). The pool is on the roof, its small, but nice. Not many places to sit, as there was only about 4 working sun beds - all the rest were broken. Not a hotel I would go back to, but was a nice stay overall.
We stayed 2 nights in Madrid! The hotel was perfect for us because of the family room! Our children loved the room. The swimming pool was much smaller than on the picture! That was the only dissapointment.
We stayed over a long weekend to visit family. Despite it being almost 30 degrees the whole time the staff insisted that the pool was closed and that was that. Frustrating when travelling with children, perhaps management could consider a more flexible approach based on weather conditions, we were extremely disappointed. The hotel is ok, quite basic rooms that would benefit from a refurb and good clean. Although a kitchenette and fridge are provided, no cutlery or crockery is provided other than small glasses and some coffee cups. No kettle and the coffee is charged at €1.50 a shot despite the room price being quite hefty. Seems a little ridiculous to charge for coffee. The bathroom is minuscule and the shower sprays the bathroom completely making it all wet. One consolation was the large, comfortable bed, and helpful friendly staff. Location ok but you need to hunt for decent restaurants. We won't rush back, would recommend elsewhere.
Good size rooms, friendly staff but along way out of the city centre, but close to metro line. The rooftop pool though small is a nice little bonus for a city hotel. One small tip while taking a shower due to the pressure and height of the shower head and no door hold it or water goes every where, enjoy.
We stayed at Alcalá suites for a long weekend. We were attending a wedding out of town and wanted to be closed to the venue. We took a 4 bed suit but I forgot to add a cot to my booking as my youngest is still a baby. It was no problem at all and the amazingly helpful guys at the front desk sorted it out in no time. Breakfast was good and varied, swimming pool on the small side but perfect for the 44°C afternoons we had. I'm regards to location, we were able to easily reach Retiro and the centre in around 20', which was perfect. Can't fault the place, lovely staff and great location.
Located in the suburbs of Madrid, Eco Alcala is a reasonable hotel. As some other contributors have said, the Hotel needs a bot of a refit or facelift. Rooms are spacious and beds are comfortable. Rooms have everything you need, but considering the size, the bathroom is a bit pokey. Hotel has a room top pool, which was ok on first inspection, but my youngest daughter managed to cut her foot in the pool within 10 mins. Lifeguard was a bit useless, took 10 mins to locate a first aid kit ( didnt have one to hand). He was more interested in his phone messages. Well placed for getting metro into central Madrid. Free parking on street, or 15 euro for secure parking. Not sure if i would recommend. I think i would check out the travel lodge or holiday inn next door. A range of restaurants within a stones throw.
Stayed as a family of 5 in July 2016. The hotel is in an industrial area which gets busy and noisy during the week, but a short walk to a few restaurants and two Metro stations. Rooms were basic, clean and very large. Our room slept 6 with two double beds ( one on a mezzanine floor within the dual height room) and a sofa bed. The room came with a fridge ( with mini bar), a sink and some basic kitchen essentials. The room and hotel is clean and tidy but fit and finish could be better and a refit would be good. Reception, bar, restaurant and patio were all very nice, clean and chic. The staff were all exceptional and very warm to guests. Roof top pool is nice, a little on the small side and not that warm ( has a lifeguard too) but great to cool off at the end of the day. Overall not bad a base for a short city trip but could be a lot better.
Very comfortable room, nice breakfast, relatively easy access to metro. A great place to stay if you are just looking for a hotel to sleep in. They upgrated the room for our little family without extra cost.
