Conveniently located between the centre and the lido area, you can stay at this adult-only hotel and walk to pretty much everywhere in Funchal. It looks nice and modern with stylish decor. The room was very spacious, comfortable and very quiet (maybe because it was located in a sort of annex building away from the main road). We could control the air-con in our room and it worked very well. Shame you have to pay to use the safe in the room like if it was a cheap hotel though. The buffet breakfast was abundant but it was more about quantity than quality. The sausages were cocktail sausages and the pancakes were always cold. Furthermore, a part from one single morning when we had some special local treats, the rest of the week the choice was always the same. They organise some entertainment for guests around their bar in the evenings, that is nice. Overall it is a good hotel and I would recommend it to friends.

A very nice hotel though a little tired in places. The best thing about the hotel was the staff. They were absolutely brilliant and nothing was too much trouble.. We stayed half board and the food was always excellent. The waiters and kitchen staff were always ready to accommodate every need. Excellent bar staff as well - always smiling and joking. The entertainment was very poor especially on Christmas Eve and we went to our room at 10pm so a little disappointing. Christmas day was a no no. But, this was to be expected in a Country that celebrate on Christmas Eve. I would stay again but if I did, I would be very much wiser as this was the first time at this hotel and indeed in Maderia. Downside: There was no iron or ironing board available and no matter how well you pack, there is always something that could do with an iron. I found the laundry costs to be too high.

Stayed at this hotel for a winter break from the dismal weather in England. Rated 4 star in a convenient location in the center of Funchal. The relatively new hotel is very nice, the staff are excellent, breakfast buffet also very good. The major problem preventing a 5 rating is the noise from motorcycles speeding up and down the street and several barking dogs-i have to think there is a kennel nearby, as the barking is incessant.

I am reviewing this hotel again after an almost two year break.s our tenth stay at this hotel and it was good to note that all the factors that draw us back are still present. It has an excellent position, close enough to the centre of Funcal for this 81 year old to walk in and out again; though any fatigue would lead to a short bus ride, with three buses stopping more or less outside the hotel. We have always found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful; and especially this time when, following an accident, I became crutch-bound. We are perfectly happy to accept the trade off between low cost ad a lack of frills. The food is excellent in both quality, variety and quantity, provided that you are not looking for gourmet catering. Our room had all we required in terms of facilities, though we did notice that the mattresses and pillows were lumpier than we had expected, and that building works outside created quite bit of noise during the daytime. Overall a heart-warming experience..

Having already reviewed this hotel earlier... I forgot to mention that although it says 'Spa, ' it does not actually have one on the premises! However, there is a sauna, steam room and a covered jacuzzi/pool together in an area with a reception desk saying Spa...please ask reception for price lists. Having asked reception for a price list...hoping for a massage in their Spa.. I was informed that you have to book one of the packages and you're then driven to their 5* sister hotel for the treatment. The only problem is the receptionist could not locate the price list... Says it all....

Have travelled for a Christmas break with family but so far from the reviews I had read prior to leaving home, I'm a little disappointed!! The hotel is quiet, very quiet...certainly for the older age group and whilst the chefs and one of the waiters are friendly and chatty ( and the bar staff), the friendliness of the reception staff, especially the older men is somewhat to be desired... The food is edible - a buffer with a decent selection but clearly they ring the changes with what was there the day before. However, this is one area of the hotel where customer relations has worked. The pillows (all 4 of them) feel as though they have totally disintegrated and we're still waiting for replacements. The shower head is broken, our 'balcony' is a triangular gap therefore you can only stand on it not sit at it and the air- con does not work. Personally speaking I would not say there's a huge Christmasy feel...

Four nights before moving on to our timeshare. Very comfortable and everything you could ask for in terms of amenities and good food. Very good breakfast and buffet suppers. Most hospitable staff and very good entertainment. Well worth the money and we shall hopefully return next year.

Just leaving after the most wonderful time in Madeira. Many thanks to Andre and his team for making the holiday so special, again. if you are disposed to having a fantastic time when you are on holiday then look no further than "The Enotel" No wonder guests keep coming back - already looking forward till the next time. p.s. The Madeira evening in the bar is unmissable.

Stayed here for a long weekend was given a room on floor 1 overlooking the sea. Madeira is quite hilly but don’t let that put you off because taxis and public transport are plentiful. We had a shuttle transfer from the airport. First drop off took 15-20 minutes. Check in took no time. The ground floor has a large reception area which is broken up by large sofas and chairs which leads to the bar area and where the evening entertainment takes place which was on nearly every night although we didn’t experience it because we like to go out. The room was average but comfortable, no tea and coffee making facilities but there was a fridge. The TV had lots of English speaking channels ,more than I can remember elsewhere. The breakfast room overlooks the ocean if you get the right table. There was excellent choice of food the coffee from a machine was really good. The location of the hotel is 20minutes walk to Funchal centre if you walk back there is a short stretch where you will face a steep hill. It is 15 minutes from the Lido which is a relatively flat walk until you drop to the front. Would I stay again...of course.

Requested a top floor sea view room and enjoyed the views and quietness. Plenty of choice for meals at dinner for everyone and service was excellent, plates cleared from table very quickly under the watchful eye of Maria and Carlos the bar man was very entertaining. Enjoyed the music most nights, Weather was pleasant and lots of guests were sunbathing most days. Have booked for next year as Madeira has been our favourite resort island for over 10 years now.
