This is not a great hotel, but in the midst of other in Macae it is worth the price. My stays here all all connected to arrive/eat/work/sleep. It is near the beach, like 8 minutes walking, and it is in front of a small, simple and cheap restaurant specialized on Costela and a nice cold beer. Anyway, you may have your dinner on hotel´s restaurant.
The hotel is going through expansion work. You see lots of material around. The rooms are big, but you notice they are used. They gave me a non smoking room that smelled cigarettes. They changed and gave an upgrade. The hotel has a restaurant that serves normal food. Nothing exceptional. Wifi did not work properly in the room. Very slow. In the lobby ok., The breaksfast is OK, bur nothing special. The city has others hotels, less expensive and less old.
Negative: Wifi free but working erratically. Mosquitoes in the bedrooms. Terribly noisy. (HVAC, ventillation, other rooms etc...) No french channels at the TV. Positive: Personnal ok. Breakfast free and correct.
I have been staying at this hotel on and off for about 6 years and have no problems what so ever it. I would not say it is tired in fact I still think its as it was when I first styed there. Okay the walls are a little thin but that in itself is not a problem basically this is a buisness hotel and not a holiday hotel and it suits its purpose. Rooms and bathrooms are well appointed and more importantly clean. Staff are excellent. Food is excellentOh and they have smoking rooms a very rare commodity.
This hotel is ok. It's oldish looking and showing its age a bit. It's clean and the staff was quite friendly. The food was decent overall but the buffet was not. Better to order off the menu. As of February 2015 there is quite a bit of construction. Nothing at night but in the day it was noticeable. They have a pool and sundeck but they are very small. Decent exercise equipment but the room is quite hot. Overall pretty good. But could be better.
Stayed here a couple of nights. Far cheaper than most of the hotels you can find in Macaé. Friendly staff, good food FREE WIFI. If you like simple and not too much fuss then this is ideal. I liked this hotel better than some of the more plush ones available. And a wee free sweety when you check in. Nice touch.
The walls, floors and celings are about as thick as a cigarette paper, if the room next door phone rings, which in my case was each morning at 4:45 for wake up call it is the same as if my phone was ringing. Then the shower, toilet flushing noises all travel very easily. The only saving grace was the person next door atleast could carry a tune when he was singing inthe shower at 5am.... If I had booked this myself I would have moved out after first night. Apart that all was ok, room confortable, good shower, very nice reception staff. Breakfast is basic but ok. no where near by, need taxi to get around. At the end of 5 days was glad to get out of there....
The hotel is fine, but nothing special. It is not really close to anything in Macae and you either need to drive or take a taxi (R$15 to places close to the hotel). The staff speak English and were friendly and helpful. The food is pretty good and they had a good variety- and I ate at the breakfast buffet, dinner buffet and ordered room service. There was always coffee and sugar set up at the front door which was nice. The rooms were average but the walls were a bit thin and I could hear the other guests and people in the halls. There was free wifi throughout the hotel- thank goodness!- but it didn't always work great. The hair dryers were really horrible and I would definitely suggest that someone with medium to long hair intending to stay at this hotel to bring their own. The website says that there is a coffee/tea maker in the rooms. There wasn't. I did use the gym once during my stay and it was ok. One of the walls was made of big windows, which let in lots of sunlight but lacked a real view. There were two treadmills facing a TV, an elliptical, bicycle, a bo-flex type machine that was a bit loud to use and some free weights. The website says that there is a stair stepper, but I think they meant the elliptical. There is a pool at the hotel but it is very, very small and didn't look clean. The position of the pool also makes it always situated in the shade. But there were some chairs to lay on if you wanted to tan. However, I'd just opt to go to the beach. If you are coming to Macae to work, this hotel is fine. I would recommend a hotel closer to the beach to anyone else.
The Best Western Dubai hotel is way overpriced, but so is everything else in Macaé, one of the most expensive cities in Brazil. The room was clean, comfortable, with free wifi. Breakfast is good. The location is not that great, it's a bit far from the beach and restaurants, but I arrived there at night and left in the morning, so that wasn't a problem. I was intending to stay in a hotel by the beach, but they were all fully booked.
This hotel is clean with pleasant and basic rooms. The air con works well +. I didn´t eat in the restaurant but the breakfast was typical of all hotels in Brasil with plently of selection. The negative points are lack of Wifi and the location Although not far front the beach you really have to take a taxi especially at night There are some computer terminals to use in the reception area and altough internet via cable is available in the rooms the lack of Wifi is a big negative
