The location of the apartment was in the centre and close to the station. We stayed over Christmas and Sittard was lovely and festive. However it was extremely cold and only three rooms had heating and struggled to get the apartment warm enough. The hallway, stairs and toilets were very cold. I expect it will be lovely in the summer or more usual temperatures. ( it was minus 6 degrees outside)The apartment is above a car repair shop and there was a very strong smell of petrol on the first floor bedroom, hallway and lounge. Fortunately this disappeared as the garage was closed for the Christmas holiday. The apartment was very well equipped with everything you need although everything looked a bit tired. The rooms were on the first floor ( lounge kitchen, bedroom with large double, toilet) and second floor ( main bathroom, double bed and two singles and large laundry room) It is worth noting that to have a shower you need to go through the 2nd bedroom The children slept there so we couldn’t use the shower when they were sleeping. There were three toilets which was handy, but the ones on the 1st and 2nd floor caused a loud noice on the 2nd floor which woke the children up so we had to use the toilet on the ground floor which was the only ordinary flushing toilet and had no heating. The parking space was useful and location excellent but the apartment did not feel luxurious.
