Our visit was over Easter. Had to change rooms as our request for twin beds at the time of booking was not accommodated in the first room. The second room was larger, but the room was not spacious at all. Very basic coffee and tea facilities in the room with very small paper cups. The staff made up for the average facilities by being some of the friendliest staff we had the pleasure of dealing with in France. Breakfast was included and it was above average with very nice Nespresso coffee. The hotel is very well positioned to be able to walk to all of the attractions and restaurants in the central area of Lyon.

For our overnight stay this hotel was fine. Well located in the nice centre of town. The rooms are smaller and more basic than i would expect by Mercure standards but everything worked and it was clean.

This hotel is in the real city center between 2 rivers, a couople of minutes walking from the main squere Bellecour, sourounded by the main walking and shopping streets. I heard some of the rooms can have a really strange smell and no windows but l can't tell because l got lucky. The service is polite and their english is average but enough. Food for breakfast is ok,not too many choice but the main dishes are coveres (egs, sausages, marmelade, yoghurt, cheese, drinks etc.). My room was on the 8th floor very clean, not too big but mkre than enough for me. There is a fridge and safe in the room. Tv has only french channels. Shampoo, shower gel and lotion are provided.

the staff were very obliging and able to help guide me through Lyon's many charms. The location was so convenient for museums and shopping and ofcourse the wonderful restaurants for which Lyon is so famous.

It was the 3rd time in 5 months that I've booked a room here. My room was smaller then before. I was surprised that breakfast was not included (maybe my mistake while booking and did not see the small letters). My biggest frustration is that the hotel offers no help/service at all with parking. A vallet service would add tremendous value. Also the admin was not ok. I have received two seperate invvoices for the two rooms I've booked.

I stayed for 3 nights recently, my second visit to this hotel. The reception staff are always very friendly. Both times the room given was small but adequate; very warm room with an adequate bed. The bathroom has a shower, and is a bit cramped. I did not have breakfast here so cannot comment further. The location is excellent in the city centre, with a good Italian restaurant next door, plus many others within 10-15 minutes walk.

We enjoyed our stay here in Lyon. The hotel is very well located for shopping and the old town. We had three in our room and really appreciated the separate toilet. We could also open our window to let in some fresh air a small but nice thing to be able to do. Our room was cosy but most certainly adequate for our needs. Plenty of options to eat in the area and breakfast is available if you don't want to wander far. I would stay again as it's good for the price and location.

We stayed in a tiny room, which was clean and well-equipped. The staff were helpful and friendly. The location was very convenient for an easy walk to the Plaza Republique, Place de Jacobins, and the Quai de Augustins to access the old city. Wifi was also excellent. I would recommend this place as a good place to stay in Lyon if you are looking for a comfortable place to sleep in the city centre, while not planning to spend too long in the room.

Expect no surprise in this small, nicely located hotel. No restaurant. Check in could have been a more pleasant experience (less waiting more smiles). Room is small but nicely decorated. Good wi-fi connection

Mercure Lyon Centre Plaza République is located in a quiet street in the Presquile District of Lyon. Most attractions in the city are easily accessible by foot or public transport. We had booked a Privilege Room which was large & well-appointed though the carpets in the room as well as the hallways looked well-worn enough to require replacement. Also, the room layout is kind of strange with the Bath & Basin section in one corner & the WC/Toilet in another corner. We found this to be quite inconvenient. Imagine having to go around the bed to the other corner of the room to wash hands after using the toilet! See attached picture. The breakfast was quite satisfactory. But they should definitely replace the paper cups that they provide for tea & coffee with real proper cups/saucers and the plastic stirrers with teaspoons. This seems to be case with all Mercure hotels in France.
