Mercure Lyon Centre Plaza République

We stayed in a tiny room, which was clean and well-equipped. The staff were helpful and friendly. The location was very convenient for an easy walk to the Plaza Republique, Place de Jacobins, and the Quai de Augustins to access the old city. Wifi was also excellent. I would recommend this place as a good place to stay in Lyon if you are looking for a comfortable place to sleep in the city centre, while not planning to spend too long in the room.

Expect no surprise in this small, nicely located hotel. No restaurant. Check in could have been a more pleasant experience (less waiting more smiles). Room is small but nicely decorated. Good wi-fi connection

Mercure Lyon Centre Plaza République is located in a quiet street in the Presquile District of Lyon. Most attractions in the city are easily accessible by foot or public transport. We had booked a Privilege Room which was large & well-appointed though the carpets in the room as well as the hallways looked well-worn enough to require replacement. Also, the room layout is kind of strange with the Bath & Basin section in one corner & the WC/Toilet in another corner. We found this to be quite inconvenient. Imagine having to go around the bed to the other corner of the room to wash hands after using the toilet! See attached picture. The breakfast was quite satisfactory. But they should definitely replace the paper cups that they provide for tea & coffee with real proper cups/saucers and the plastic stirrers with teaspoons. This seems to be case with all Mercure hotels in France.

We stayed for one night so we put up with the room which was very small. Although we were only two people it was necessary to choreograph movement. The ensuite was also small. The bedside tables were trendy but useless and left no room for glasses or book. However, the breakfast was excellent as is the location.

The hotel is located a block off the plaza republique in the Presqu'ile area on a quiet side street. Location is perfect for shopping and seeing the major attractions. There are lots of restaurants in the area. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was small and the layout was a little cumbersome with very little surface space. The bed is on the hard side with some flat pillows. We had to pull an extra set out of pillows from the closet. Internet works great in the rooms which isn't always a given. The hotel charges extra for breakfast although this wasn't made clear to us when we checked in. We only had it twice during our five day stay and it wasn't that great. In checkout we were charged 75 euros for four breakfasts. There are plenty of cheaper options down the street. Do not waste your money on the buffet if you can avoid it.

What I like about the hotel The location of this hotel is excellent. It is very close to restaurants, shops and many tourist attractions. The beds are comfortable. The front desk staffs were helpful. What i do not like about this hotel The price is too high comparing to room size and amenities. The window is very small and did not give enough light in a room. I was surprised that they had small paper cups and plastic cups for guests instead of ceramic cups. The room made me feel that the management gave the MINIMUM quality of everything for guest. In conclusion I do not think that I will choose this hotel next time

Spent one night here on way back from South of France. When I searched I requested parking on When we arrived it wasn't clear where the parking was so i went inside and it was explained that the car park was on the next street so we had to go and park and then walk back to the hotel and then the next day i paid for the parking (public car park) didnt really mind but defeats the object of asking for inclusive parking (main reason i chose the hotel). Staff were pleasant, room was small but clean. It was fine for a stopover but it didn't blow us away. On check out i was charged over 200 euros - some sort of pre authorisation which i thought was done at check in? anyway like i say it was fine for a stop over but with so much choice i will chose a different hotel next time i am in Lyon.

Just perfect for us We stayed for 2 nights and the hotel was great. New rooms like a boutiq room Its a small hotel that is perfect for tralvel in the city. Perfect location!!! Reccommed take Bicycle near the hotel

To be fair, I don't think it was intentional. The toilet was smaller than one you'd find in a caravan and clearly when one gentleman had stood up, it looks like he caught his old fella on the wall, shame someone hadn't cleaned it up. Comfortable double bed, but you'd have to be very tolerant of your partner to survive more than a couple of nights together. Worth noting that Accor/Mercure sent two requests for a review, for different sites, this is the second.

Located in the heart of Lyon,in between the Rhone and Saone. Low price for a four star hotel on a top location. All 'must see' attractions are at walking distance. Hotel bar is not open on Saturday and Sunday night, but with over 800 bars and restos in Lyon centre, I did not really mind..
