The staff at this location could not be more friendly. I can not compliment the morning staff enough. I have never had such great customer service in all my stays. Clean. Centrally located. Alcohol and food available at the bistro.
I travel quite a bit and stay in many different Marriott Courtyards - and this one was by far one of the best! I loved the modern lobby, the immaculate and comfortable rooms and the friendly staff. It is obvious that the hotel has been recently renovated. I did not use the gym area but I was large and had lots of great equipment. The Bistro was similar to other Courtyards and the service was prompt and courteous. The hotel is a short drive to the downtown area and right across the street from a large shopping mall. It is also a short drive to Thomas Jefferson's Retreat Home, Poplar Forest. It is well worth the time to visit the historical landmark.
An overnight stay on the way to a conference revealed, again, why we continue to choose Courtyard by Marriott. This Lynchburg, VA, location is a seventeen y/o hotel that was recently renovated. The hotel is immaculately clean. The manager, Lynne Simpson, obviously knows how to hire and train her staff. Without exception, every staff person we encountered was engaging and helpful and went the extra mile to make sure our stay was exemplary. Of particular note, in addition to the manager, Ms. Simpson, were Front Desk staff member Andrew Drinkard who was extremely helpful on the phone before we ever set foot in the hotel and continued to be so after we arrived and Bistro staff members Barrett Farrar and Bobby Brown who made breakfast a delightful ecperience. Our room was spacious and comfortable with some of the best beds I’ve ever slept on in a hotel. There is a convenient exercise area with modern equipment and a very good lounge/bar area, especially for a small hotel.
Only hotel I stay at in Lynchburg, VA area. We are Marriott Rewards members and thought we would try this Courtyard, due to proximity to Liberty University where my niece attends college. We have stayed several times and have always experienced high level of quality we have come to expect from Marriott. We like the new Bistro design, rooms are comfortable and staff is attentive and friendly. Home away from home in Lynchburg!
This Courtyard is what you would expect of a Marriott Courtyard. It was nice that they recognize the gold status with potential late check out and water. Wifi was free and the beds were very comfortable. Service was friendly and professional. The AC/Heater controls are on the wall, not the window unit... read the small print so you won't get frustrated. Would have liked a safe in the room, more for peace of mind. All in all a good stay.
While I am not a fan of the Bistro breakfast nooks at Courtyards, the rest of our stay met all of our criteria for a motel. Clean. Quiet. Helpful staff. Comfortable bed. Location close by Appomattox Courthouse, our destination.
I have been staying here one or two nights a week for the last month. Last week I realized that they had set the thermostats so 68 was the lowest the room could go. Previously it had been 64. That's just not cold enough to sleep well and it's unacceptable. I knew there was no point in calling anyone because I had to wait to check in while the desk woman went to look at someone's suite where the a/c was completely broken and hadn't been repaired. If it happens again this week I won't stay there again.
This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. Staff here are very professional, courteous, and friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel if you need to stay in Lynchburg.
The staff was wonderful. The facility was clean and well kept throughout the stay. It was busy, and I felt no inconveniences during my stay. We ate lunch and breakfast in the lobby cafe, and we enjoyed both meals.
Nice hotel. Clean and centrally located. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a large common area with tvs and comfortable seating. It has a little lounge and a fire pit outside . I would recommend staying here.
