The staff was wonderful. The facility was clean and well kept throughout the stay. It was busy, and I felt no inconveniences during my stay. We ate lunch and breakfast in the lobby cafe, and we enjoyed both meals.
Nice hotel. Clean and centrally located. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a large common area with tvs and comfortable seating. It has a little lounge and a fire pit outside . I would recommend staying here.
So, are my concerns with Marriott buying Starwood coming true. At first blush, this hotel appears nice for a Courtyard. The lobby is well appointed, although why hotels think guests want, or why guest do want, to sit in a lobby like it is their living room is beyond me. The room was a decent size, and standard room. In short, it is a standard Courtyard. Now the concerns. 1) my deadbolt did not work on the door. Good thing I keep a 9mm pistol on the nightstand. 2) the bathroom was unacceptable. There was hair all over the floor. How hard is it to run a vacuum in the bathroom. 3) At 3 am the guest in the next room woke me up at 3 am playing music. I called the front desk. 4) Upon checkout the desk clerk could basically have cared less about my concerns. No apology or offer of some type of token of reparation. Starwood hotels will throw points at you with any concerns being raised. I would not stay here again, and Marriott should seriously look into this unit.
Stayed here for 2 weeks and here's my review: Pros: - room is comfortable - the complimentary tea tree collection that comes was a nice touch - Starbucks is just downstairs - there's a bowling alley across the hotel ( didn't have the chance to go though) - I checked in late on the day I arrived and the receptionist who greeted me made everything easy. Got to check in my room in less than 5 minutes. Cons: - there was one time that the cleaning lady forgot to lock my room, complained to the receptionist and the guy just said , ok. I was like "seriously? I have stuff there" - no complimentary water - fridge didn't have a room to store ice cream, your ice cream is guaranteed to melt. - breakfast wasn't initially included but the other co- worker from my company staying in the hotel told me he had breakfast included in his rate, we compared and we both had the same rate, I complained and the staff initially said it's not part of my plan, after several discussions, they mentioned it'll be included. No apologies or anything for the previous days' experience. An apology honestly would have been enough. If it weren't for my business trip, I would have chosen another hotel.
Stayed here for business. Easy location to access. Hotel has DEFINITELY undergone a very modern restoration. The interiors are soothing. Ample areas to lounge. A bistros that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner options-limited options but anyone can find something to eat here. The bistro also offers beverages from coffee to wine and beer to cocktails. Staff is very friendly and kind. Room was immaculate-looked as if I was the first person staying there. My only negative was that due to late booking and few rooms left I ended up with a first floor room next to the stairwell. Sleep did not come easily as a bunch of drunk guys were up and down the stairs all night long. That is not the hotel's fault at all but the fault of inconsiderate guests. You can hear everything-and I do mean everything that occurs in the stairwell if you are in this room. I did ask for a change after check-in but nothing else was available. So you make the best of it. I would definitely stay here again if I am in town for business
From Housekeeping to Front Desk to Bistro, our stays are Amazing! Emily is doing a fantastic job with guests and Bobby does an awesome job as well. Thanks so much guys for making this a home away from home. -Rm:334 😎
The hotel was very modern looking and clean. We had a first floor room with a sliding glass door/screen door, at the back of the hotel. There were a couple lounge chairs out there. You could also walk down to an area with table/chairs and fire pits. It was nice having the screen door, because the weather happened to be unseasonably warm and there was a nice breeze blowing. The only negative would be that they didn't have free continental breakfast with the room. They had a bistro that you could buy breakfast (my husband spent $14 for just himself). Nice location to universities and restaurants. Would definitely stay again.
We always stay Marriott because we love their chain of hotels! This location had several red flags. First, there were small blood colored splatters on the one of the comforters. Second, the toilet paper holder was falling off the wall. Third, there was not complimentary breakfast, not even free coffee or a muffin. We had to either leave the hotel for a meal, or pay for extremely overpriced meals at the hotel bistro/Starbucks cafe. Most importantly however, once we left for our college tour, housekeeping came in to clean our room, and they left our door open after they left. We had not checked out yet, all of our belongings were still in the room, as it was well before check-out time. When we returned from our college tour, we found our door propped open with housekeeping (or their cart) no where to be found. Luckily all of our possessions were still there, but it was upsetting to know our room was kept open for who knows how long. Additionally, when housekeeping came they took all the soaps and shampoos and did not replace them. We were unable to shower before checking out and hitting the road for our long trip home. Unfortunately, we are not likely to return to this location.
A good experience. I required a handicap accessible room. It was easy access. bed was comfortable. nice pillows. good service from friendly front desk person. Jacob was very nice and helpful. One complaint is that the walls were thin. every time the person in the next room coughed, I heard it clearly. good walk in shower except the water pressure needed improvement. it never got really hot. it was like using a watering can. I got clean but it could have been better.
I've stayed at the Courtyard Lynchburg on multiple occasions. It's a very nice property generally. However, on two occasions I experience black mold in my ice bucket. It happened over a two week period. I advised management. After the second occurrence I decided not to stay there anymore. I asked to placed on a different floor and found the same problem the second time. I think that they need to sanitize all of their ice machines.
