I had a room with rivernile view which was quiet and clean. The restaurant offers variety of excellent delicious Egyptian food and some international dishes. I enjoyed every minute of my stay. The staff is very friendly and try to please every customer. The staff helped me to arrange my visits to the old touristic sites. I loved my trip I will definitely visit again in the near future

Popped into this hotel for a drink last week while staying at winter palace and was charged £20 for a single red label whiskey 1/2 a mile back towards Luxor the Iberotel asked only £6 for same drink ,even winter palace( fantastic hotel) only charge £10 pound for same with the most amazing service and bar staff you will find anywhere in luxor ,p.s Sonesta measure drinks old winter palace just pour and most measures are at least equivalent of doubles regards

Waking up to the view of hot air balloons in front of the valley of the kings.. separated by the nile.. absolutely stunning! It almost looked like a painting! The most friendly staff, clean & beautiful pool, food at the restaurant was great & great location. 10/10 would definitely stay again..

The hotel was convenient and clean and the staff was professional and kind. Dining options when I stayed were a bit limited but I worked around them. One thing that I did not like was having to pay for WIFI in my room. The hotel is advertised as having free WIFI - free WIFI in the lobby is not free WIFI to me. I should not have to pay for WIIFI in my room. This is the only hotel I stayed at during my 10 days in Egypt where I encountered this. It was $100 for the day with a 2nd day free and I have several instances where the connection was poor or slow responding. I was also there for 3 days and just needed WIFI to get me through the next six hours or so and had to purchase another entire day. Such a rip-off!

Couldn't be better than SONESTA St. G hotel. Even though this is not the state of art hotel, Here is comportable and pieceful, and give you pleasrue to stay. Also, the view of terrass forward Nile river is fantastic at any time, morning with sunrise, afternoon, evening with sunset!! if possible, I would like to stay as much as I want! Thanks for appropriate service for all time I stay!

We have always stayed in this area of Luxor in the past but never in this hotel. I was impressed from the moment we arrived. We had a direct Nile Room on the third floor. The view was amazing. I could watch the river and West Bank from my bed and finish off the day with a great sunset. The people who looked after the room and us could not do enough for us. Breakfast was a little disappointing as there wasn't a huge amount of choice. If there was a large group in, it became a little difficult to get an egg made easily. The pool men and waiters in that area were great. They always tried to make sure you had shade if you needed it (I certainly did!) and plenty of towels. Cool towels, drinks and fruit came round regularly. Overall I can thoroughly recommend this hotel and we will be back.

Although we only stayed one night at this location the hotel was very comfortable and the staff was amazing. So welcoming and hospitable! We had two connecting rooms which was nice. The also approved a late checkout at 330 with no extra charge.

We stayed here for 3 nights while visiting the ancient sites around Luxor and also visited Abydos via the desert road. The hotel has beautiful old world charm and a relaxing atmosphere. The breakfast was excellent with a good buffet selection. We enjoyed the large swimming pool which overlooks the river. Our room was spacious and clean. The only minor issues were no free wifi in rooms (wifi in lobby only) and then our room on the east side of the hotel is adjacent to the town's water pump station which disturbed our sleep due to the constant high frequency whine of the electric motors.

We go to Sonesta quite often to spend time with friends upstairs in the Bar. We always enjoy being served by Osama...he does whatever he can to please. Just a delight. We went to dinner on Monday in the Italian Restaurant. We ordered a Margarita Pizza and Pumpkin Ravioli. We were informed there was no parmesan cheese, so that limited our selection. Taste of both was average. They did serve a bread basket and butter at no extra charge. Many of the restaurants charge for this now, as tourism is still down and they are trying to save money whenever possible. Total cost was 250 el, which is $14 at the current 17.72 el per dollar. Very reasonable. The hotel presents well, except for the mouldy door coming from the large indoor planting area in the lobby. The glass was removed and that was a mistake, especially for people with allergies. Also, the brass railings in the front entrance need to repaired, as they are very wobbly.

I joined a tour for my first time in Egypt and they booked us at some pretty swanky places. I would definitely include our stay at St George as one more Western Style resort hotel. I didn't get to see much of the property because we were knackered by the time we arrived in Luxor. Check in was smooth. My room was clean. My bed was at par for the other beds I have stayed on my trip to Egypt, in that they are hard, but the pillows were good here and the air conditioning was great, and the staff was very friendly. The shower was okay, but the door on the shower had me thinking I was going to be stuck in the shower and miss my ride. I managed to struggle out. The view from my room was very pretty, overlooking the Nile and the pool. The pool was not busy at all. There was another tour staying at the hotel and when they weren't inside their room, it was quite loud, but the second they went into their room and closed the door, I couldn't hear a thing. I did order room service and it never arrived, and after waiting an hour, I was too tired to bother inquiring why it hadn't come yet, so I didn't eat that night. The manager was very apologetic when he heard about it from our tour guide. I would recommend this hotel. It was very nice.
