We picked this hotel based on Trip Advisor and were not disappointed. The room was updated, clean, great breakfast with very attentive servers and the service was top notch. We were picked up at the airport on arrival and when we left a driver delivered us to the train station. Although the hotel was the most expensive of our trip, it was well worth it.
This is a sumptuous hotel, with such lovely, friendly and welcoming staff. We were picked up from the airport by a liveried driver and nothing seemed too much trouble for anyone. We chose to eat in the hotel on Saturday night - the food was excellent and to be highly recommended.
This hotel is located centrally and at the same time not too far from the airport. I wouldn’t personally stay there if I was visiting for a long weekend for the purpose of leisure. I do feel this hotel is primarily good for business travellers. There isn’t much atmosphere. The breakfast buffet is good. The bar area is lovely during evenings. I did not use the gym or pool but heard it’s good. Whilst the rooms are spacious they don’t have much style. Very Ok - nothing special. The hotel is clean.
Hotel is quite nice, but vastly overpriced. Central location is convenient to walk to bars and shops. Don't drink in the hotel bar as it is so overpriced. I would not visit again. Terrible value for money.
Luxembourg is always a good place to stop as Jet A1 price is lowest and airport is without hassle. The hotel is very good and breakfast is excellent. Good service and nice rooms. Centrally situated. Good place to say a couple of days.
So this is unimpressive from the outside. Unless your a fan of precast concrete. That said it is not unpleasant. Reception area is relatively small for such a large hotel but quite effective and staff were polite. Room, was OK certainly spacious in the living area but bathroom was poor, with a side of wall shower attachment which for anyone over 6 foot may find hard to use. I certainly did. Evening bar was the highlight of the stay, very classy and nice environment.
I like almost everything about Le Royal. I like the location - it could not be more central without being on a main square. I like the staff, so well trained, helpful and professional. I like the concierge - down to earth and not at all stuffy. I like the large rooms. I like the cleaners who kept the rooms spotless. I like the gym and leisure facilities. But, but but - I stay in a hotel so I can have a nice place to sleep. In order to sleep I need a nice bed. Why, when you have a great hotel with large, modern rooms, would you put a queen-sized bed in all the rooms? I can cope with a queen-sized bed if i have to but why use a cheap mattress? The springs were hopeless and every time I moved I woke myself up with the rolling. It beggars belief that a great hotel would use a cheap mattress but that is what Le Royal have done. So, it hurts me to only give 2 out of 5. I won't be staying again until they fix their mattresses. Such a shame because everything else is first rate, but if your guests can't get a good nights sleep it is pretty poor.
Hotel has all amenities expected from a 5* hotel, however considering the rate per night it seems pricey for what is on offer. Well, Luxembourg is an expensive city after all..... Staff was friendly, breakfast had more than the usual fare and the location of the hotel is ideal for a stroll in the city center. All in all a satisfactory experience
I have to admit It was hard to find a suitable Hotel to stay in Luxembourg city! And after a long research on trivago and tripadvisor I ended up booking the Royal directly through their website: free breakfast, free return airport transfers (pre booked by e-mail), no extra charge for one 7 years old child. Plus, access to the indoor pool, sauna and gym. I was really impressed with the service. There was someone waiting for us at the airport when we arrived, we were offered one bottle of water each, got to the hotel in 10 minutes, luggage was immediately sent to the room. The room itself was very comfortable with a great lighting system, with all necessary amenities, including robes, slippers, umbrella. The Hotel is 5 minutes from Place d'Armes, so truly central. Next day we had breakfast, that was very good, and when we got back to the room they had already cleaned it. At night they also had a turn down service and chocolates were left on the bed. The only negatives were the bathroom slide door that was hard to close, specially if you have long nails, and a small quibble with Breakfast that was immediately solved. You won't fall in love with the Hotel itself, as - at least in my opinion - the architecture is unimpressive, but they truly compensate with excellent service in every way. I highly recommend this Hotel, and don't forget to have a drink at the Piano Bar!
Stayed there in the weekend during a short trip to Luxembourg. Clean and nice seized room, located on 1 floor. Unfortunately the room above us made a continuously (nearly 2 hours) racket of pushing furniture around.... Anyway the breakfast was great and so was the very alternative staff. Will come back!
