Good and respectful staff 24 hrs service. Very comfortable bedroom and really quite. Includes an excellent breakfast serving anything you like. Every morning has a cleaning service so the bedroom stays clean everyday. The staff gave me a room on the 9th floor which was nice because I had a view. The location is exactly near to the Mall and to the town centre. I suggest it unconditionally!
Booked this place for somewhere to sleep before an early flight. Found it to be great value and very comfortable for the overnight stay. Room was spacious and the staff all friendly. would stay again.
In terms of value for money this is a good option. My key gripe is that the rooms at the back of the hotel facing the square are noisy due to all night revellers (presumably unemployed-it was a Monday !) and my room (809) had a glass pane missing from the secondary glazing and noisy pipes. However , the staff were great at 2am and gave me an excellent double room ( 818) which faced the car park and was quiet. The breakfast is also very good . Even with SatNav this is not an easy hotel to find ( one way system ) and working out the best parking option is overly complex. It’s worth paying more and not using the nearby mall - go for the library at £8 for 24 hours (but you are charged every time you move)or the hotel at £10 if they have space .At 11pm in the dark it’s no fun trying to find the hotel through the complex Mall whilst walking past mobs in the dark . I might stay here again if I get the right room .
Room was clean and more than acceptable, however, the temperatures way too high and I barely slept. The windows only open a crack (for obvious reasons) but the radiator could not be turned down. I probably would not stay again based on the poor nights sleep.
There is little to complain about besides the location. Being in Luton there are limits to aesthetics but once inside all the home comforts are quite apparent. A pity no pool. Service was speedy and polite and guests are required to pay on arrival. The breakfast was fantastic and was greeted by middle-eastern waitress, perhaps Iranian, with a high level of cordiality. The rooms were snug, quiet and immaculate. If only I hadn't had to check out so early. Find a ramp leading up to the hotel lobby overlooking a car park. Not immediately obvious to spot yet set in the heart of Luton town.
Wow for £48 and a last minute booking on the same day the thistle certainly surprised us. The hotel was very clean and staff at the front reception were welcoming. Our room was 511 and one of the biggest I have stayed at for a budget price. A small bathroom however functional. To have breakfast included with the price I would certainly return to the hotel if in the area again.
The hotel was EXTREMELY difficult to find.. Siri and google maps on 2 different phones kept trying to send us down a Bus only Lane.. however after 40 minutes and several stressful calls to the hotel we finally found the hotel.. with no parking available..but parked in the below public carpark.. the reception area was nice.. small but nice.. We got to our room and it was perfectly fine and the bed very comfy and a decent size., but the bathroom was really not nice..bath looked rank as did the grout between the tiles.. the shower was very low pressure.. but toilet and sink were clean.. Breakfast was perfectly o.k and well stocked and free hot drinks were a bonus.. Perfectly o.k hotel with some nice features but our bathroom really let out stay down.. it is after all a very important feature of a hotel stay..
I struggled to find this place and it didn't help that their post code was wrong. It was booked on Booking.com and on there it's wrong. I found it on other sites also. They really need to correct this!! The hotel was located at the top of a ramp which looks like a car park. I was also in a high top van and could not get past the entrance due to the metal frame they'd got on the entrance. The hotel reception was pleasant and they offer free coffee, but that because there are no drink making facilities in the rooms. The room itself was okay, a little battered but what I found disappointing was the very small bathroom. I have a large frame and wide shoulders and I could not sit on the toilet properly. I had to turn sideways almost. They don't serve food unless you want a pizza, so I had to go out and look for somewhere. I was quite tired and didn't want to venture too far but there was not much choice; it was either Nandos, spoons or a vast choice of fast food kebab shops. Wouldn't stay here again or at a thistle express.
Located over a shopping centre in Luton this hotel is very handy for any city visit. Staff are friendly and efficient. The hotel is clean and breakfast is provided, free tea & coffee and WiFi is also available. Rooms are small but for a budget hotel they are absolutely fine and the bed is very comfortable. Call in advance for spacific directions, sat navs get very confused with the location as it's over the shopping centre and if you want to drive to the door you will need to access via a carpark at the rear of the hotel.
This is probably one of the best places to stay in Luton. I have stayed many times in this place and it has never disappointed. Well designed hotel, well fitted rooms and well managed overall. Clean and tidy also as you’d expect from a good hotel. Only minor issues I have and wish they can improve is first the front desk staff. I don’t know what Thistle’s policy is with hiring but management seem to be so keen recruiting very young inexperienced staff. It takes sometimes 3 of them to resolve an issue with no experienced person in sight. You’d be lucky to get a smile from some of them, clearly proving their training was focused on procedures not customer relation. They have to justify their existance sadly and some are so serious that make you think they run a nuclear facility not a hotel. Thistle should realise many modern hotels have moved on to self checkins altogether rather than overstaffing their front desks. Breakfast is also ok but I hardly know any hotel with breakfast closing time of 9:30! And if you are a minute late doors are shut on you. Some things are way too much procedural and strict with Thistle, shame for a good hotel that you can’t feel as relaxed.
