Very good and quiet hotel for families with children. Everything is adapted for the children including swimming pool for the big ones. Room 104 has too soft madrasses but otherwise you always sleep very well.
Good quality hotel. We had family room which was roomy - separate rooms for kids and adults. Hotel is a bit far from city centrum but with a car it was really easy to arrive to the hotel. We liked the comprehensive breakfast.
It is a nice hotel with a newly renovated SPA. Very nice!! Restaurant was good and breakfast always tasted good. Rooms are all very big with separate sofa and lots of space. I can recommend this hotel.
I stayed at this hotel as a business traveler. The wifi was poor and it was impossible to connect to my employer's VPN as I was logged into the hotel's Internet. What is the use of staying here as a business traveler if I can't connect to the VPN from the hotel?
Efficient check-in, but directed to a lift that wasn't working - the hotel is apparently being refurbished, but I saw little evidence of it, Room (actually a small suite) was pleasant enough, though the bathroom was very '80s and gloomy. No questions of cleanliness overall, though the bath wasn't cleaned during my stay despite using it the first night. No proper toiletries, just two squeezy things - one for basin, other for shower. As is commonplace in Scandinavia, there were two single beds pushed together as a "double" (which can be OK) but also two single duvets (which isn't OK because they fall off). Basic selection of local TV channels, but most English-language programmes are sub-titled, not dubbed. Breakfast is reasonable, my big gripe would be the lack of proper juice - it's just concentrate that's diluted by a machine. WiFi was free & seemed acceptably rapid for email and VOIP home. Location is typical Scandic - plenty of free parking, the price for which is the location: it's basically on an industrial estate quite a long way from town. If you want to eat or shop, you'll need to have hired a car or take a taxi (both relatively expensive options, of course).
Ok - so I use this hotel quite regularly to visit family in Sweden. I am a "2nd floor member". During the time (from 2011) I have seen lots of changes. This time I was in a renovated room. Good points: Like the decor, dislike the hanging space, rather than wardrobe, but appreciate that at least there are still some drawers. Bath has gone, but I think I only used it once in 6 years, so.... OK. Looks like the safe may have more room for a laptop, but I couldn't get it to work and reception number was busy when I tried. Pool area is fine and new Sauna looks great. Switch of changing rooms for male and female simply doesn't work. Switch it back asap, please!!! Found new TV in gym can also potentially cause injury to those collecting weights - worth investigating. Gym balls have gone, although instructions for use still present?? New Atrium/reception/lounge is lovey, thanks - I do love the space and the sky view - glad you keep it. Breakfast is always good - even when pushed by numbers, staff remained cheerful and efficient. Bad points? I don't like new laminate floors in bedroom - was awakened by children running and playing in room above at 6am - not their fault - the floors were carpeted before. And you only hit the wooden bar between the bedroom and the bathroom with your toes once.....ouch! before you learn to pick up your feet. And still no air -con, so if you open windows to cool the room, you get woken by traffic noise. Lastly - hair dryer - only mirror with plug is in front of hanging space, so clothes get hairy - there's nowhere to sit and do hair/put on make-up anymore. However - even with these niggles, I will still be returning to the Scandic Star for their warm welcome, large rooms and bathrooms, lovely staff and hospitality.
Stayed here a week ago, was very happy with it. We had three rooms and was happy with all of them. We had our small puppy with us and was given treats, a bowl and a blanket which was very sweet. The only downside of it was that even though it was a puppy we had to pay 200kr extra, which was pretty expensive for a puppy. The breakfast was amazing, had everything you could want. Their gluten free section was fantastic which you can't get many places. We will definitely stay here when visiting Lund again.
Everyone was very nice to us and treated us very well. Our sommelier was both well educated and talked in an interesting manner about vines etcetera especially local alternatives. The food was nice and based on ingredients from nearby. Proper facilities and a relaxed but yet classy environment.
Rooms nice and newly decorated. Free coffee and tea in room. Rooney clean bathroom. Staff friendly. The breakfast bar was extremely nice. It had an array of delicious hot and cold foods. Waffle bar. Even a gluten-free table which made my husband very happy. I highly recommend this hotel.
Hotel is not in townn centrum and you need a car or taxi to go around. Clean a bit old fashioned rooms and worn-out bathroom but tidy. Quiet neiborhood but walls are very thin. I woke up during the night because some next door guy was snoring. Breakfast was good and plenty with English options too.
