Very clean, staff very helpful and price extremely reasonable!! A very nice place to stay and use for our (home base) We drove to many interesting places in the area. We would recommend it for someone needing to get away and have a very nice place to stay!
Cell service here is almost non existent. Wifi is a joke. Cant send work in from inside. Have to go downstairs or outside. Room was clean, water hot, bed too firm for me though, felt like I was laying on the floor. Front desk clerk never at the front desk always in the back. Had to ring bell to get her which made me feel like I was bothering her each time. Coke machine doesnt work.
Right off, this hotel, as were the rest in Gonzales, swamped with evacuees from Harvey. We expected there would be noise, etc., but were pleasantly surprised that, considering the volume of people, is was quite quiet and managed. Our room request was granted, and we spent a peaceful night before traveling south to survey damage to our property. Once we found, on the second day, that our power was restored, we released the room so someone else would have a dry place to stay. Although Gonzales is a small town, people there have big hearts and made every effort to ensure our stay was comfortable. Good job and thanks!
It's been a couple of years since we've stayed here. Good stay with no issues. Probably a three star hotel, but the cheap rate and nice old lady cooking the good breakfast bumps it to a four. 10-12 miles from I-10, for breakfast they don't put a lot of items out at one time so you may need to ask for some items, your basic sleep inn that was remodeled in the last five years. Good stay for the price. Best eggs I've ever eaten at a hotel breakfast - they are real-slow cooked scrambled eggs.
We stayed here one night. The hotel is nice for the price; However, the wifi is not the best. If you are on business then this may not be the hotel for you. The tile was cracked in the elevator, and black mold in the bath tub. The breakfast is pretty good, but needs whole wheat bread, oatmeal, and grits. We would stay again.
Don't know who has been writing reviews for this hotel but it was the worst ever! Check in went ok, staff was nice but not really helpful or what I would call friendly. Found dead roaches in the room, spiders in the shower. Informed the front desk & the response was "ok. I will leave a note for them for tomorrow." It was like it was no big deal. Never offered to move us or fix the problem. If my kids weren't asleep already we would have left. Breakfast the next day sucked!! Went downstairs for breakfast at 9am. Most of the food was out. Asked for refills & got a crazy look. No forks, knives or spoons. Eggs, sausage & potatoes were swimming in grease. Asked for a bagel & it was not pre-sliced. Asked for a knife but they didn't have any. tried to pull it apart & it completely crumbled (which means it was old!). Towels were dingy & yellow (supposed to be some shade of white). The tub sounded like it was going to break & crash thru the floor if you moved during your shower. The staff never offered anything for the problems we reported. Just basically blew us off.
We recently stayed here because I had a major water leak on a Sunday and the water was turned off and wasn't able to be repaired until Monday, so I got a room here for me and my young son. I got the King Suite with the living room area it was perfect for the occasion. We made a mini vacation out of a bad situation. We ordered pizza and picked up and ate in the breakfast area dining room, then went swimming in the pool and afterwards went out for ice cream. The room is very spacious as is the bathroom. The hot breakfast was decent and a great start for our day at work and school. I noticed the following night that I had forgot my phone charger in the room. I went back Tuesday morning to ask about it and it was in the office so I was able to get it back. The only negative I can say is no one was visible at the front desk when we arrived and checked out and came in and out during our stay. After ringing the bell it seemed to take a long time for someone to come to the front desk. This is a great place to stay, always clean, reasonable prices, nice staff. This is always my first choice when I need a room.
Stayed a Friday and Saturday night. Room was cleaner than expected (with a slight smell of mold in the bathroom.) Carpet didn't turn colors when walked on with white socks. King bed was comfortable and had ample pillows. The TV may have been a high resolution, but was not in high def mode. Wifi was faster than many similarly priced hotels. Towels were rough but tolerable. Shower was walk in, small and left water on the bathroom floor. (Maybe the source of the mold smell) We heard very little road noise and little noise in the hotel either. (Not a lot of slamming doors or people clomping upstairs or the floor above.) Parking was ample even though there were numerous oil worker trucks in the lot. (Fracking in the area.) Breakfast was better than average for a hotel of this price. Link sausage one day, sausage patties the next. Scrambled eggs both days (need salt and pepper, just get it while you are in line) and some sort of soggy fried diced potatoes. Yogurt, some fresh fruit, oatmeal packs and the ubiquitous waffle iron. We would stay here again.
Large clean room with good comfortable furniture and bed. Nice clean lobby area and friendly staff. Plenty of parking and easy loading unloading.Very safe and secure area. Good breakfast all at a very reasonable price. Great for this Winter Texan on the way to SPI!
The stay was great and beds were comfy. The lobby was decorated really cute for fall. The only thing was that breakfast wasn't the best. Not much to chose from and everything was cold. But other than the I recommend this place.
