We spent a long weekend at the Delfino hotel. We had a lovely superior room, with a nice balcony overlooking the pool. The room was spacious and pleasantly appointed. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast was very nice with yogurt, fruit juice, breads, meats and cheeses and good coffee. There is a nice pool area with plenty of lounge chairs. The staff was very friendly and quite attentive. This is a nice three star hotel with a good location, located a few stops on the bus number 2 from the Lugano main train station. There are fridges in the room, but they just have water. There is a bar near the pool if you would like something more. As other reviewers have mentioned, other than soap in a dispenser, there were no extra amenities in bathrooms ( such as shower caps, cotton balls, q-tips, skin cream), which is a bit a unusual these days in a hotel, but there are several shopping options within walking distance if you have forgotten something. A very nice feature in our room, was the provision of beach towels for use at the pool. All in all a very pleasant place to stay in Lugano.

I am rating this hotel a two, because I had the impression that they are only interested in your money then you can go. The hotel is situated about 1.5km from the main rail station it cost us 20 CHF to travel down a fairly steep street to it. About 1 km below is the rail station Paradiso if you wish to climb back up to it. Down the street 300 m you cross under the road and begin to find a good selection of eating choices. That said the hotel was clean and quiet, small room and tiny bathroom. No tea, coffee making facilities at all but a fridge helped keep my water cold. Air Con had been unplugged and remote removed, no hotel compendium to explain anything, no extra toiletries in fact I have had more provided at a caravan park onsite cabin in Australia for less money. Breakfast is Buffett and usual continental meats, cheese etc. Not a hotel to find yourself in if you were jet lagged from a long haul flight. Staff were pleasant and I would liked to have been more positive but a tired traveller doesn't feel catered for here.

The Hotel is located a bit less than 2 km from the centre, but this is close enough to walk, but there is also a bus station in front of the hotel (and stay in Lugano includes free ticket for public transport)! The service was very lovely and helpful. As it was off-season, the Hotel was not empty, but the rest of the quests were rather silent too and this guaranteed a good night's sleep!

We enjoyed our 5-day stay very much and wish we could have stayed longer. Clean and well-maintained hotel with good old-fashioned keys. Well-equipped room with a good bed. Our balcony with garden view was a bit small. Plentiful breakfast buffet. Nice terrace area with a small swimming pool. Very friendly and helpful staff. The reception staff gave us vouchers with discount on the funicular to Monte San Salvatore, busses etc. City centre can be reached within 15-20 minutes by foot, best along the lakeside. There is a garage, parking by payment.

Friendly staff but the property is quite dated which the price per night does not reflect. The buffet breakfast was simple but plentiful. We ate dinner here which was reasonably priced and tasty with some nice wines available. They have a pool area which we didn’t use (due to the weather) but it looked pleasant . The hotel is a nice 15-20 minute walk in to town but there is a local bus nearby.

I was looking forward to our trip in Lugano but the hotel service was a huge disappointment. What seems to be the hotel lobby is a private bar/restaurant. The waiter was rude and kicked us out. I left and while waiting for the elevator he continued pointing with fingers to my wife. After my wife complained he said it’s an Italian thing and we should speak Italian. We asked for his name and while leaving we could still hear him arguing loudly in Italian. All happened in front of other guests, for me it was a very embarrassing situation. I understand every hotel has its policies but this is about how you treat guests that are on vacation. Bottom line I strongly recommend not to book this hotel.

Our room was on the second level with a balcony overlooking the lake with a beautiful view. Hotel was very nice and clean with a good bed, although the bathroom whilst being adequate, was a bit small. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We were there for four nights and ate at the hotel on all those nights. The hotel is away from the town centre but a bus stop with a 15 minute service operated all day. We received free travel vouchers during our stay and used them to get to the city centre. Buffet breakfast was quite good with a good variety of food.

Stayed here for 2 nights after travelling from Tirano by Bernina Express Bus. Found the hotel easy as local bus stops right outside, 15 mins from Lugano Station. Rooms lovely, we had a lake view from our balcony. Staff excellent and very informative. We were given a free travel pass for local buses and trains, very useful and extremely well used during our stay. Hotel is a stroll away from the lake and town centre. Breakfast good standard.would stay here again.

Nice hotel close to the lake and Monte San Salvatore. The city is a few bus stops away. Avoid rooms in the first floor since the bar and restaurant below can be loud in the eveving. Good breakfast with normal choices.

It’s really good value for money type of hotel. Nicely located, close to lake front (5 minutes from the hotel) ; bus stops are near by, in fact stops right in front of the hotel. Although restaurant menus are limited but restaurants are near by. Staffs are really helpful and always willing to help. Overall highly recommended.
