We loved staying at this great hotel. The staff manager (owner?) of the hotel was incredibly nice (fluent in Italian, English, French and German...) and made sure that everything was great with our stay. The breakfasts were phenomenal - everything for every taste with great Italian flair. Besides the traditional eggs, bacon, cold meats, cheese and wonderful Italian pastries, the yogurt was phenomenal. He personally made sure that we received the coffee of our choice (best Americano's I have had in Italy) each day. Great value. My only wish is that that wi-fi were stronger - it was extremely slow.
We were delighted to find Palazzo Alexander! We loved the location near the city wall and close proximity to many delicious restaurants and city sights. The hotel staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating. We will definitely return to this lovely hotel.
This is THE hotel for us! As a matter of fact we liked it so much we stayed here on our way back to France. It has modern rooms that evoke past centuries. The staff are exceptionally warm and helpful. Full breakfast, served to your tastes. The location is close to the many attractions of Lucca and most walk-able. Verrry comfy!
A comfortable very accommodating hotel. Breakfast was substantial and very fresh. The breakfast staff listened to your every desire and fulfilled them as much as possible - even to a home made macchiato. The day manager parked and sorted cars if you drove - a major help with the limited parking available in Luca. Also assisted with interesting things to see en route to the next destination. Definitely would return.
Really well located historic hotel in beautiful Lucca. It's a very short (less than five minute) walk from the bus station and also from the centre of town. Check-in was easy, the room large with a really comfortable bed and good storage space. There were some issues however: - the walls are thin. Very thin. I could hear pretty much everything that was said (and done...) in the room next to me which was a little awkward, but it is a very old building so partly understandable - there was only a small bath in the bathroom which I could just about fit into (I'm around 6ft tall). There was a shower attachment but was unable to use it without soaking the entire room as there was no curtain - mini-bar wasn't re-stocked at all after the first night when I drunk two bottles of water - 4 out of the 8 bulbs in the room didn't work Having said all of this, I really my stay. It's a great hotel full of character and I staff (especially the owner) were absolutely fantastic. Pleasant, happy and helpful at all times and a real credit to the establishment. For these reasons, I would happily return to the Palazzo Alexander and would recommend to others. Thanks.
Last week while we were sight-seeing in Lucca, our adult son injured his foot. We told the daytime manager, who offered to allow our son to sit in the hotel lobby after we checked out of our rooms, so that we could finish sight-seeing without him. The manager made up an ice bag and provided a pillow for our son's foot! We also got a incredible value when we booked a "family room" for the three of us. The "family room" ended up being two rooms, each with a king bed, separated by a door -- at the price of a double room! The rooms were spacious and the breakfast was good. Location was also convenient to all major sights. Highly recommend.
Hotel Palozzo Alexander is a wonderful boutique hotel located within the walled city conveniently near the bus station with its historical centre an enjoyable short walk through narrow streets. The hotel is very clean with tastefull Tuscan decor and furniture. Our room on the 2nd floor, via lift, was spacious and most comfortable. A delicious breakfast is provided with attention to dietary needs as required. WiFi access completes the offer. Owner Mario, supported by son Gabriel, is a true gentleman with a lifetime experience in hospitality. He will ensure your stay is a special one with his warm friendly nature and depth of local knowledge and no request is too much for either. We highly recommend Hotel Palazzo Alexander! Thank you Mario & Gabriel best wishes for continued success! PS. While in Lucca be sure to: walk the historical Wall, a distance of around 4.5 km taking about 1 hour and enjoy freshly baked focaccia from the famous bakery Giusti found in Via S Lucia. Say hello to owner Luca from Lucca.
Have been here many times and referred Palazzo Alexander to all our friends. The elegant place does not miss. It is a boutique hotel with 15 rooms/suites. The rooms are simple and elegant. There is a lift and a delicious extended breakfast. The owner and staff is knowledgeable. You should not be disappointed.
We spent one night in this hotel, very nice view from the room in the top with a balcony. Also the breakfast was good, like have a breakfast in friend's house. The localization is perfect and the service by the owner great. Lucca is a place very friendly with babies, you can walk with the stroller.
My girlfriend and I stayed here for a week in December, 2016. First of all the operator of the hotel, Mario, is a wonderful nice and respectful man. He will do anything to help you to make your stay comfortable. His son also works in the hotel, and is just like his dad. Any problems you have are dealt with immediately. We had one of the bigger rooms with a balcony. We loved that room because you get the sun on the balcony in the afternoon. So I would highly recommend this room if anyone was to stay there. Breakfasts in the morning were great. I have stayed in many hotels over my time but the eggs were fantastic. Also Mario makes an excellent cappuccino. I thought the location of the hotel was excellent. It is in a quiet spot, but a short walk away from all the main attractions. So overall if you are looking to stay in Lucca then I would highly recommend this hotel. Again a big thanks to Mario and his son.
