The hotel is in a old manor house in a small village, located about halfway between Lucca and Pisa. It was hard to find when we first arrived. If you like peace and quiet in the countryside, then this location is ideal. There are a few restaurants on the main road between Lucca and Pisa, but their opening hours are unpredictable. The hotel staff is friendly and breakfast is adequate.

Perfect choice

This place was perfect for what we were looking for, situated in the village of Santa Maria del Guidice. It was the perfect setting to experience the real Italy but so close to both Pisa and the outstanding beautiful Lucca which is a must visit. The hotel itself is situated at the top of the village perfectly placed for stunning views of the Tuscany rolling hills from both the breakfast/dining terrace and the infinity pool. We had a superior double room which was large and spacious and the decor was in keeping with the renaissance building. Probably not to everyone's taste but exactly what we were looking for, we didn't want to be in a corporate hotel that could have been anywhere in the world. We loved the quirky safe in the stone wall. The bed was great and the shower very powerful, towels and toiletries were changed and stocked each day, the shower gels etc were really nice! Breakfast was your typical continental, cold meats, cheeses, cereals, fruit etc along with various sweet treats as well and no complaints at all . We only had lunch twice at the hotel but it was good portions and very nice. If was a limited menu with Paninis, flat breads and a different pasta each day but definitely value for money. We only ate dinner once , the food was good but unfortunately the service let us down a bit on the night, we put this down to the large wedding also being catered for. Overall a fantastic stay.

A very special place

a really unique place with a very special atmosphere - completely relaxing and a beautiful location. It's family run so very down to earth. The place wasn't completely ready for receiving visitors yet but the staff went out of their way to iron out any difficulties. Absolutely charming and homely with great breakfasts and a stunning pool

Great pool at this rustic gem

Fantastic new pool with beautiful views of the hills! Lovely old rustic building with lots of character. Our room was spacious and clean. Double bed a bit too firm for us but kids slept well. Good to have air con, though was a bit noisy. Good buffet breakfast with something for everyone from Italian cakes and fritata to croissants, museli and fruit. Plus eggs and continental beakfast. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Good base to explore Lucca.

Situato in una posizione strategica per arrivare a Lucca centro e a Pisa. Immerso nel verde, posto suggestivo ma forse più sfruttabile nella stagione primaverile ed estiva. Abbiamo prenotato una depandance perché l’ultima camera disponile. Stabile composto da circa 10 mini appartamentia qualche passo dalla villa, composto da una camera con fornelli e lavandino ma sprovvista di qualsiasi utensile quindi del tutto irrilevante rispetto ad una camera normale, letto matrimoniale composto da due singoli attaccati che si staccavano ad ogni movimento. La cosa peggiore è stata scoprire che le camere fossero comunicanti e Con sottilissime pareti. Alle 6:30 siamo stati svegliati dai nostri vicini entrambe le mattine del nostro soggiorno, e di nuovo alla 8:30 dalla donna delle pulizie che spostava mobili e passava l’aspirapolvere. abbiamo cominciato questa problematica alla reception e ci hanno risposto che questo problema fosse stato già rilevato da altri ospiti, ma nonostante tutto non ci hanno fatto nemmeno un euro di sconto. Non so se ci tornerò, ma sicuramente dovrò assicurarmi di non pernottare più nella depandance. Irene

Di questo hotel solo il posto dove è situato è bello, per il resto le camere sono sporchissime, impolverate, vecchie, trascurate, molte cose sono rotte, abbiamo trovato il copriletto con delle macchie vecchie di sangue, il frigorifero con la maniglia rotta e l'interno dello stesso sporco e puzzolente, le porte che non si chiudono...evitatelo

No lo recomiendo. No nos pareció un hotel al nivel de la tarifa pagada porque el colchón de la cama estaba muy muy mal, como una montaña rusa. El desayuno malo por la calidad de lo que ofrecen. Aunque explicaron que la tarifa es por ser una construcción histórica creo que descansar es esencial en un viaje.

Vi boede i anneksbygningen og der var rigtig dejlige udendørs forhold med bord og stole til hvert enkelt værelse. Således kunne vi også sidde at nyde udsigten. Morgenmaden var fin med et alsidigt udvalg.

Purtroppo ci siamo stati solo 2 giorni. La nostra sistemazione era nella depandance accanto alla villa: pulita, spaziosa e confortevole. Ottima anche la zona piscina. Da consigliare.

L'avantage de cet Hôtel est qu'il est situé entre Pise et Lucca , dans une ville au calme , et dans un cadre naturel parfait. il y a de la place en extérieur , une belle piscine entretenue . un tres bon accueil et la restaurant sur place est aussi de bonne facture , donc que dire de plus !!! c'est l'endroit idéal pour être coupé du flot touristique et recharger ses batteries. Rien à voir avec un hotel en ville !!!!
