Novotel Wroclaw City3.0 out of 5.0

Whilst this is an average Accor Group hotel, there are some points - The bathroom and separate toilet floors are very cold stone. some under floor heating would be a good idea. No heated towel in bathroom. Shower floor very slippery. The receptionists are very good and helpful. There is a large well kept garage with mature treas. The restaurant is good but when one stops at more than one Novotel the menu is boring all the same. Surely, the chefs can produce some interesting local dishes. When we stayed in a small hotel there was an excellent duck with plums for example
Most said already in the title. I only stayed there overnight, so I may have avoided noises of repair works. The night was very quiet and cozy, the breakfast more than satisfactory. Three kilometers of detour from major highways - it is really worth its while. If I wanted to visit the town of Wrocław I would have chosen a different hotel.
We stayed in this hotel after arriving in Wroclaw Airport and before heading down south towards Czechia. This hotel is not placed in a city center but next to A4 highway, which makes it a perfect stopover for a night while travelling. The exterior does not give a good first impression (old communist style building) yet inside it is much much better. Reception, lobby, bar and restaurant are all kept up to Novotel standards. Rooms are clean and spacious. I cannot say a bad word about any of that. Breakfast service is good, giving you a sufficient choice of different dishes. A special note and thank you to the hotel staff - everyone was very kind and helpful, especially bartender Lukasz. Overall it is a good quality hotel, reasonably priced and placed perfectly near the highway in case you are driving by car. I do recommend it.
The staff were really friendly and continued to top up the water jugs. We ate from the lunch set menu so there was limited choice. The food came quickly and was nice. The chicken with vegetables was very good. I would recommend.
This particular Novotel is typical 3* hotel. Of course you can't expect any luxury there, but all you need is on very good level. I'm regularly there (almost once a week) and I really appreciate the personal touch from the team working there. Reception desk is very friendly and they always try to meet my wishes about the room. I really appreciate also Mr. Lukasz from the bar that is always very kind and helpful. In the summertime there is a garden where you can relax in the evening.
I happen to have (this year) silver status in Accor Hotels, so I got welcome drink. I could have had a drink, but bartender lost recipes for drinks and could not remember how much of each ingredient to put in... so, I asked fro white vine -- I was offered a glass of FRESCO vine. Those who do not know, FRESCO is pseudo-vine that you but in Tesco for about 2 euro a bottle... this is like, the bottom feeder of all vines. This should not even appear in a NOVOTEL -- it belongs to IBIS Budget.... Brrrrrrrrr I understand that Accor hotels want to rip us all, but there is a limit to being cheapskates... Hotel is old... and it feels... generally speaking, it needs complete refurbishing / remodeling -- for the price (and the brand) quality of the building is... BAD. They lost my online check-in... Breakfast is very nice -- with special stand to have freshly prepared eggs in various form... this itself brings the quality one level up (to average), but I want to express my overall displeasure with the price performance. This is NOT your quality Novotel... do not expect what you would normally expect... this is an old / used Novotel that has managers that are cheapskates...
Novotels are a low end hotel chain but this one in Wroclaw has got to be at the bottom of their list. This is an old, tired property in serious need of refurbishing. Maybe the badly stained carpeting put us off but even our lower expectations didn't quite prepare us for the condition of the furnishings in the room.
We stayed there with a tour group and understood that the hotel would not be luxury ( to say the least). The location does require taxi, the lobby is fine. Our room was really disappointing. The carpet was extremely stained- the bed and bedding were fine and clean. The "couch" or whatever it was extra piece of furniture to sit on was pretty gross and not very solid. ( I sat on it using a towel). The breakfasts were good, nice varied selection and food was good. Overall it was not terrible, but the carpeting and couch really were not what I would expect.
We stayed here for one night to break up our journey to Krakow. The hotel is 5 to 10 minutes from the motorway and 15 to 20 minutes from the old town. As you would expect from a chain hotel in this price category, the rooms were clean and functional. Most of the other guests seemed to be part of German bus tours. Because we arrived quite late, we also had dinner in the restaurant. The menu consisted mostly of burgers, pasta, steaks and some salads etc. You wouldn't necessarily go there if you had the time to find somewhere else but the food was well presented and the staff were helpful and friendly. We skipped breakfast and opted to drive into the old town centre instead.
This Novotel does not seem as great as other worldwide Novotel hotels. The staff here are nice but not necessarily helpful, we came from the UK and forgot to bring an adapter, usually most hotels are happy to provide but this one stated that we'd have to buy 🙄. The room is somewhat basic but clean. The location is good, not sure I'd come to this hotel again.
