What puts people off going to Lourdes is often the cost which is usually about £800 on an organised pilgrimage. If you stay at this Apart Hotel (which provides either food or self catering) you can do it for less that half price. Use Ryanair from Stansted. They fly direct to Lourdes and my return fare was £100.Some of the rooms overlook the foothills of the Pyrenees!
Good and helpful staff, but one wonders why the soap is missing not only in the rooms but even in the public restrooms. When the concierge is asked to provide with the soap, he shrugs as if it is a nuisance to ask. The carpets in the halls and restaurant are not filthy but look like. The rooms are decent and spacious, they are kept clean as is the bedding. The breakfast is not to die for, so skip it. Overall, not exactly what we expected, but it is Okay. Wouldn't come back to it.
This hotel was easy to find and only a short walk to the grotto. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, with a fridge and kettle available. There was also a small hob for our use, although I didn't use it. The air conditioning was effective and greatly received during our stay in July. The staff were extremely helpful and have a good command of English. I phoned the hotel after my visit because I thought I had left my purse in the room. The manager was so helpful and immediately investigated the situation. Fortunately, I was mistaken and found my purse. When I phoned the hotel to explain, the manager was very grateful and was genuinely pleased. I cannot comment on the breakfast because I didn't have it. However, there is a comfortable seating area with bar, as well as a small outside courtyard.
Having driven overnight all the way from South of Portugal we arrived 5hrs prior to check in. We were met by Manel who was very approachable and courteous said she'd have a room ready for us within the hour. Our request for a double and balcony had not come through via Booking.com. Again this was no problem. She was on the phone to housekeeping to get the first available room with those requirements ready for us. Room was very clean and spacious with a lovely kitchenette and microwave. As it hurriedly readied for us the only thing missing was coffee cups which was remedied as soon as highlighted. Only slight blight was the breakfast. At €9 it was not valid for money. As the staff for a proper coffee as the one provided is weak and awful! Would definitely recommend this Apparthotel to anyone visiting Lourdes and can't praise the staff that we came across enough. They were all fab. Special mention also to Mario who checked us out. Thank you all for an enjoyable stay.
Ok so when me and my family arrived to the hotel Lorda in Lourdes, we thought nothing of it, seemed like a nice hotel and we were happy by the looks of it on the outside. First off I would like to say that we payed for a non-smokers room and as soon as we entered the room we were greeted by horrible smell of ciggarets. Secondly our room hasn't been cleaned for two days. The lobby of the restaurant has a terrible smell. The receptionist said that the wi-fi in the hotel is very good when we asked, but the wi-fi only worked in the lobby. The beds in our rooms were very uncomfortable, every move on the bed felt like the bed was going to collapse any moment. The dishes and the cutlary was unwashed and filthy, some of the glasses had stains on them and some weren't even washed. The bathrooms in the hotel were horrible, the smell of sewage fills the room. Overall the hotel is kept unclean and in a really poor state and is very dirty. If you are going to Lourdes I would advise you look for another hotel, this hotel will ruin the experience for you and your family.
We pre booked two nights via booking.com which was non refundable, but we walked out within 15 mins of arriving it was so awful. The hotel stunk of stale cigarettes from the moment we arrived in reception, we had booked a room for two adults and one 13 year old, the triple room was stark and bare and smelt damp. The bathroom was a walk in wet room with a disabled shower (which we didn't need or book) the bathroom was dimly lit but you could still see the dirt in the room. It has to be the most unwelcoming room I have ever seen not to mention smelly and border line unhygienic.
I stayed at the Lorda in July for 4 weeks and loved every minute of my time there. The hotel staff are very efficient, friendly and went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. The receptionists - Delphine, Julie and Manel and Didier were consistently professional, courteous and always ready to meet my needs and fill the requests of the clients. Everyone at the Lorda was always smiling and concerned about client needs. The food and the service in the Dining Room are First Class. The hotel is immaculately kept and the rooms are serviced daily. My room contained a kitchenette and exceeded my desires for comfort and cleanliness. Mr. Dupont, creates a warm welcoming atmosphere for clients and maintains first class quality in the Hotel as Director. I already made future reservations to return twice in 2016 to the Lorda because IT IS TRULY A FIRST CLASS APPARTMENT HOTEL.
It's basically a no frills hotel for pilgrims since it's just a short walk to the Notre Dame Cathedral or Sanctuaries Notre-Dame de Lourdes. It's a lovely walk to small gift shops and to the shrines, with the pyrenees as a backdrop. our room was small but comfortable and very clean. the bathroom was clean and had the basic amenities.
Huge airy room with balcony overlooking the town. Helpful staff, everywhere beautifully clean, lovely stay. We did not eat here but love the hotels location, away from the crowded hotels. The pillows are not great 😕
Check in was fine which included a free upgrade, room was very good (spacious and clean), having a laundry was useful, but when it came to dinner and breakfast we were not catered for and not treated as valued guests. We turned up for dinner and the head waiter proceeded to deliver us with the tour group set first course dish despite us asking for the full menu to select from. When we finally got our meal after an hour of waiting still with no drinks, one meal was wrong (duck order, steak delivered) but both meals were poor. Next morning we turned up for breakfast at 8:30 as advised by reception to avoid the tour groups, but all the breakfast had been eaten by the tour groups! We complained and left to have breakfast up town, cancelling the next days breakfast booking at the same time. frankly, if your are a traveller and not with a tour group, we suggest you avoid this place. The hotel is about 7 minutes walk from the Grotto
