To get to parking you have to go down a very narrow street and make a blind turn with a very steep slope.
The water was out for the whole hotel when we arrived in the afternoon. It came back on in a couple of hours. The next morning, we had no hot water. I was told it would be back on in 20 to 30 minutes. After breakfast, I went to the front desk and was told the hot water wouldn't be back on until the afternoon. I asked for a different room to take a shower. It sounded like the entire hotel didn't have hot water. When the owner/manager (?) heard me talking to a front desk staff, he got on the phone and the hot water was back on within the hour. The other staff member should have taken care of this without me having to complain. The beds were hard, the room was dark and dingy, and the furniture looked like it was from the late 1980's. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Great location and very friendly staff. Only thing lacking was quality of WiFi service. Signal was very weak and unreliable. Also be VERY careful with the parking garage. It is EXTREMLY tight. Overall a great experience and I would recommend this hotel to anyone-- particularly for the value.
The hotel was renovated since my last stay here several years ago. When we checked, they had a queen size bed for me and my sister because they claim that was the accommodation I reserved. They made an adjustment and put us in a room with the view of the gave River which was fantastic. They also saw both of us are handicapped, so the room has all the necessary bars and handles we could use. I have recommended La Solitude Hotel to my friend and travel agent. The hotel is very close to the Sanctuary.
Great staff who quickly responded to all of our requests. Room was on the river side of the hotel and offered a great view. The only problem was no refrigerator in the room, otherwise everything was great.
Close to grotto and shops. Right on the river, beautiful area. Staff pleasant and helpful.
The hotel is hard to find by car, due to the very narrow and crowded streets. However, the view from the room was superb, and the location allowed for taking a stroll in any direction and be close to key points of interest. Underground parking garage is secure but it's somewhat difficult to maneuver to get in and out (very limited space). Overall the staff was extremely helpful. Free guided tours to the sanctuary are not offered every day.
Great location! Close to stores an the Grotto! Everything was within a short walking distance and the staff is very helpful.
The hotel was very good. Clean and nice and a beautiful mountain and river view. Very nice. The only thing that I would like better if they would keep dinner open past 10pm. One day we arrived rather late around 10pm for dinner and the kitchen was closed, not only in this hotel but all the sorrounding restaurants. I guess it's a French thing :) Apart from that, the hotel was very nice.
