I stayed at the Sea Sprite on Hermosa Beach for a couple of nights before heading to my daughter’s place, and I can’t say enough good things about it. The entire experience was fantastic. The rooms are beautifully upgraded—modern, fresh, and beachy in the best possible way, without feeling themed or corny. Every detail felt thoughtful and well done. The restaurant on-site was a standout. Absolutely incredible food and atmosphere, and such a treat to have something that good just steps away. What truly made my stay memorable, though, was the staff. Every single person I encountered was friendly, attentive, and top notch. They made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. If you’re looking for a place that combines comfort, style, great food, and genuine hospitality, Sea Sprite is a gem. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat. In fact, I can’t wait to stay here again!

Everything started well. Around 8 PM our TV started resetting like there was an issue. Around 9 p.m. decided to go to sleep. I guess there were power issues the air conditioner/heater would make beeping noises every 3 to 5 minutes for about 30 seconds. I went to front desk and there were five other couples complaining about power to their room. Etc. Waited for Manager to show 20 minutes and left my number for them to text me. They never resolved the issue until two in the morning. Was not a good night sleep I guess SCE was working in the alley finally after talking to someone in the morning, they try to blame it on them I couldn’t believe I paid 400 bucks for one nights day and they didn’t care about making things right. The front desk lady took my number and email and said she would pass it to the manager. The power went out at 9 AM in the morning so we had no heat just to warm it up a little. Couldn’t even find valet to get my key.
This split system air conditioning heater beeps from 9 PM till 2 AM.

Pros: The property is on the beach. It has a bar and restaurant. Rooms were clean. They Had beach chairs and bikes to borrow. However, it is a very noisy place. We were there on the weekend. All rooms enter from outside. Our room was over the patio bar area and the music was loud and you could hear conversations and lots of people walking up and down steps all hours. The walkway lights were bright and shined through the room blinds all night. Rooms were dark. No lamps or overhead lights in main area. Our last night an alarm and flashing emergency lights went off outside at 1:30AM and continued until morning. There is not a regular coffee pot, no ironing board but there was a steamer and the blow dryer was terrible.

WARNING: Deceptive Advertising & Zero Accountability from Hotels.com Do NOT book through Hotels.com — they are deceptive, dismissive, and completely unhelpful when their listings turn out to be false. I booked a room through Hotels.com (Reservation #73230688635600) that explicitly stated “sleeps 3.” Based on that, I included one additional guest beyond the two adults listed. When we arrived, the room had only one bed and no rollaway, sofa bed, or cot — meaning it could not possibly sleep three as advertised. This is false advertising and a breach of contract. Hotels.com misrepresented the property, and when I reached out for help, they refused to issue even a partial refund. I spent hours on the phone with their so-called customer service, only to be met with indifference, runarounds, and empty apologies. No resolution, no accountability — nothing but wasted time and frustration. Hotels.com offered absolutely nothing to fix their mistake, even though they admitted the listing said it “sleeps 3.” They clearly do not vet the accuracy of the properties they promote, and once they have your money, they simply don’t care. This is not just bad service — it’s deceptive and an unethical business practice. I will be reporting them for misleading advertising under the Federal Trade Commission Act and state consumer protection laws.
