My stay at Novotel was last minute, due to travel issues between Jakarta and Bali. I wish I would have spent my entire time at Novotel. The beach was amazing and staff incredible. On paper the Novotel is fantastic and the amenities are great. However, I was left with a very bitter feeling when I was extorted by the hotel driver. I also found that many staff members were not as welcoming or accommodating as I would have expected. Some of the guys in the beach hut kept pestering us for money. I also had to make several requests multiple times before anyone would act on them (i.e. room service, borrowing a pen, etc.).
