We spent four nights at the Cocotinos resort in August. It was a very relaxing stay. The hotel is small, well kept, the rooms are very big and clean. This is the perfect place to visit the nearby beautiful islands and do some amazing snorkeling there (or diving). The hotel is quite isolated and since we did not have our own mode of transportation we decided to have all the meals there. The restaurant is ok, but of course much more expensive than everywhere else on the island. There is also a nice free tea/coffee/snacks time every afternoon. The beach is clean although nothing special, but it is nice that you can go snorkeling from the peer and see many fishes and corals. The people from the snorkeling/diving center were very friendly and we loved the trips that they organized, but again prices are quite high compared to the average. They have free activities such as visit to the market and traditional villages, we did not take them, instead we wanted to visit a nearby beach and they were so nice to bring us there and come later to pick us up for free. All in all we enjoyed very much our stay, there were only two problems with the hotel and that's way I do not give them 5 stars. The main problem was the poor understanding of English of most of the staff; often it was really a problem to be communicate. The second problem was the limited number of sunbeds by the beach/pool, once everyone comes back from the boat trips they are definitively not enough.
I stopped here for lunch with a group of people. The food was really good. I ended up needing a room for a night, so I decided to stay here. It was surprisingly close to American prices to stay and eat here. The room was just what I needed, wasn't too fancy even with the price tag, but it was a safe, clean place to lay my head. I even got to checkout a little later than the normal time, without any additional fee. I had the complimentary breakfast which was great... much better than most continental breakfasts. I'd recommend staying here.
We stayed in August for 17 days at the Cocotinos resort and like last year we were fine, the staff are nice and caring, and you are like at home. The room is nice spacious, clean and well cared, as well as the bathroom. We have done massages every day at Spa, Mrs. Agung and Mrs. Tias are very good and very professional. We also did 24 dives with Odyssea Divers, which has excellent well-equipped boats, both underwater guides and on-board staff are very kind and cater to any needs. In short we were too good. Many thanks to all, you are in our heart.
We stayed here for 5 nights. This place was rather secluded and took one hour to get there from the airport. They have around 30 rooms with a big and lush garden. The room is spacious enough, yet not very well noise-proofing as we could still hear the sounds from the rooms next to us, as well as the noises of motorbikes on the main street. The resort has their own big swimming pool, beach and jetty and you can snorkel right there. You will see some big school of fish, giant blue starfish, and some corals as we did. The resort location is also convenient for daily snorkeling tour to nearby and faraway islands. It's best if you can avoid taking the tours on Sunday, as it will be pretty crowded on those islands, making the snorkeling less enjoyable. We didn't choose the service provider from the resort, given their much higher price tag, whilst the values were more less the same as offered by nearby fishermen and villagers. Despite our not using the resort's service, staff was still helpful to organize the tours for us. The resort's food was decent, we ate here all the time as there were not many options nearby. I'd suggest it's safe to stick to the chef's recommended menu (except the Balinese meal set, they used too much chicken - which wasn't specified on the menu, and the courses were not well cooked, IMHO). For other courses, I found seafood much better cooked than chicken/ duck. The latter was made very dry so that we couldn't taste the meat texture anymore. Staff was friendly and helpful most of the time. However, when there were some needs for troubleshooting they were quite confused. We needed to wake up quite early on the last 2 days for a/ diving trip and b/ checking out to go to Bangsal port. Given the restaurant wouldn't open until 7:00 AM, we were offered breakfast boxes. For both days the boxes included chicken sandwiches with some fruits. We were disappointed as soon as we opened the box, we found some ants crawling inside. Despite we immediately showed that to the receptionist on the first day, it happened again on the second day. We showed it to the receptionist again and gave up, given we were checking out. It then soon followed by another disappointment. Before going to Lombok, we booked the resort shuttle service (certainly not cheap but we wanted to be sure) to take us to Bangsal port at 6:00 AM on the check-out day. But the driver was late for nearly 30'. Given we needed to show up there on time to catch a boat, we double-checked with a receptionist the night before. The person ensured everything was arranged but then happened the incident. When we came to the reception at 5:55 AM, the first thing he asked me to do was to pay for the shuttle service (despite the driver wasn't there yet). The receptionist made many calls and couldn't answer our question as to why the driver was late. He kept moving between the desk and the back room without any explanation. That made us even more nervous. Luckily, we didn't miss our boat at Bangsal, but that gave us a heart attack. Overall, we had a decent stay. However, these incidents shouldn't have happened given the resort has operated for 7 years. For the price tags quoted by the resort, we expected a higher standard in service delivery.
The staff are lovely, helpful and speak English. Our bedroom & bathroom was clean and good standard. Very peaceful resort. Yet literally nothing else nearby. We were meant to stay 3 nights but moved to Kuta on the second morning. The food was bland, tasteless which is where we struggled with the thought of staying the whole weekend. The beach is actually about 75m Long (not 300m). Photos were very deceptive. The sea was un-swimmable due to coral reef. The sand was not raked and therefore not pretty white but full of seaweed. The Lombok website states 45mins from airport it took us 1.5hours. There is lots of potential here but the owners lacking focus on the Finer details. Had a massage which was lovely. I rarely write reviews and never had to switch places before. Therefore felt important to share our experience as the website is deceptive in our opinion.
It's location is in a superb area.... beachfront with blue waters & a pier. There is also a center for your snorkel/diving needs. Sufficient deck beds & canopy for you relax & sun tan. As for food, you do not have any choice. Chef's skills are not fantastic. My family's experience w their seafood is that fish meat are mushy & fishy tasting & my brother experience diarrhea after eating seafood. Basically, if you are hoping to have a wonderful dinning experience with food & view complimenting each other, the food is an utter disappointment. There is no convenient store within walking distance to buy anything!!!
It's a really beautiful place, very quiet, in a lush palm garden. The room is huge, with a big bathroom and also an external shower; air conditioning and fan; 5 liter driking water in the room, and you can ask for more if needed. Nice pool in front of the beach. In front of the hotel there is a coral reef where you can snorkel. You can go into the water directly near the coral reef thanks to a 120 m long pier. Good food in the restaurant and really nice and friendly staff. Great for a couple of relaxing days outside the touristic places.
The people at the hotel were wonderfully friendly and keen to help. The food was excellent. The beachfront villa made it very special, maybe less so in a standard room. The location is very remote so you have to be prepared to just chill out at the hotel and do boat trips - which was fine for us. Only negative the extremely expensive rates for diving - twice the cost of diving in Menjanagn island in Bali.
We had dinner here and were very pleased with the variety on the menu and the service we had. The staff were very friendly and made us welcome. The food was very good, I had the pork ribs and my wife grilled chicken. We fully recommend to one and all.
Beautiful spacious clean villa, great bathroom with indoor and outdoor shower. Appreciated the unlimited water in the room. Food good, staff great. Boat crew were excellent, trips to gili gede, gili ringgit and gili nanggu were good value. Massage at in-house spa lovely.
