Can't remember the last time I stayed in such conditions. When we first arrived at the hotel around 10 pm we found huge puddles of water on the room floor, and a stench of something rotting in the room or somewhere nearby. The room was flooded because windows were left open (probably in an attempt to get rid of the stench) and it was raining a lot on that day). After complaining we were moved to another room, that had carpet covered in do many stains. The room had a tiny bathroom with a miniature iron bathtub with enamel broken in multiple places and shower that was impossible to fix on the wall, so it had to be held on hand at all times. Next day we were moved to the first room. The room was dried and cleaned but the rotten smell did not disappear and remained all the time that we stayed in the hotel. The stench completely ruined our stay. There was no table and no chairs in the room, just three beds, a closet and a wardrobe. Refrigerator was very small - I had to remove all the shelves in order to fit 1.5L water bottle. There were no hooks or bars in the bathroom to hang towels. On the positive side, the room and bathroom were spacious. Large windows with great views of the city. Nice rainfall showerhead.

If you just need a simple place to stay, walking distance to attractions this is a good place. Bring earplugs and slippers. No issues at check-in/out, staff was kind. Didn’t get the breakfast, but there are so many options around.

The room condition was unacceptable. We booked 5 nights at this hotel with twin room shared bathroom , when we arrived they give us a very tiny room with shower(no toilet) , this room is very tiny and hardly turn around , the window shade is broken and can not close , the light are very dame with one light bubble doesn't work, the carpet is very dirty and after all the most important thing is there are mold everywhere, around shower room and the wall corners. This is big concern and will cause health issue. I asked to change room next day and they did change room for me , this time the room is bigger and a little bit better condition, but there are still mold around bathroom and the toilet is loose and we have to be very careful every time when we use it. Anyway , This was worst experience for our trip. I totally understand this is very old building , but they should make them livable for the rooms I had stayed. Beside all above, the hotel front desk staff are very friendly and helpful.

Ok place but if you have large suitcases .. there is a first flight of steep stairs before you get to the 2 person or 3 suitcases elevator. Our room was very small, none of the suitcases could be left open on the floor Good location for eateries and down hill walk to city center.

In my opinion, This hotel was great for the price. Its architecture is beautiful. It is like staying in old times. Its views from my room were really nice. Perfect location with walking distance to many activities, shops, restaurants, san Jorge castle and coffee shops. My room was very spacious with AC. and huge shower, little fridge and safe box. Its elevator gives a lot of character. On the other hand, the hotel has some stains throughout the common areas and it is noisy, but I guess the whole city is noisy. Breakfast is very simple, but has coffee bread, cheese, cereal, etc
