This is my first visit to Lisbon, and I am pleased to have selected this hotel. After a quick and pleasant check in process, my room was expected and was big, and bright. The safe batteries were low, so I called the front desk for assistance. Within what seemed like minutes, the technician arrived and was already done installing and checking the functionality of the safe. Nice! This hotel is in a great location, clean, and has a very good breakfast selection. Upon leaving, checkout process was smooth and they kept our bags as we ate breakfast. I would recommend this hotel. Great customer service and hospitality.
The location is great, a quiet hotel but conveniently right next to metro station Marques de Pombal on the blue line. You can take the metro or a shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel – very easy!! It's in an upmarket area and only 10 minutes stroll to Rossio Square in the heart of Lisbon such as bars, restaurants and the St George's Castle! Rossio also have a main-line train station to go to Sintra were the The Castle of Moors and Pena Palace are. We also visit Cascias and Estoril beaches, again you take the metro down to Cais do Sodre station. All in all, the hotel was a great retreat back from a long day site-seeing or walking in our case! The breakfast was great with a good selection of food! The staff was very friendly and helpful. I did asked to change our room by the lift the moment we arrived and straight away moved to a nice room over looking the front which has palm trees, metro station and an outdoor cafe/bar. The room is very good size with aircon. Wifi is also free with strong signals. All good for us and really enjoyed our stay in Lisbon!
This hotel as it is about a 20 minute enjoyable walk down Avenida da Liberdade to the main squares. The rooms are nicely decorated and sufficient size but not too large. We stayed here two nights which we enjoyed but I would have enjoyed it more if the packets of instant coffee had been refilled after the first night! We used the packets the first night and no more were forthcoming!
The location is good: 2 metro stations from Praixa or Alfama. With Nice view over the Liberdad Boulevard, it serves a generous buffet breakfast (although the lack of any vegetable should Be a minus). The room was very clean, with all the facilities of a 4star hotel. The stuff was nice, although I didn't like the fact that We arrived quarter past eleven a.m. and We were offered a room without a working AC. The option to that was to wait "until 14.00". After I Said that We will wait, fortunelly another room was "found".
We're there for 2 nights and we live it! They had a cot for my 8-month-old baby, a great breakfast, very clean and comfortable room and nice staff. I have had a Preggo Roll and love it, it was gender and very tasty! I would probably go back to this hotel if I stayed in Lisbon, the location is wonderful!
I stayed here as I had an extra day in Lisbon. The hotel is in an excellent position for access to public transport, it is in a very upmarket area with lots of designer shops and nice cafes and restaurants nearby. It was clean, staff were very friendly and helpful. The room decor was a little dated, but well maintained and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was a good size with a nice bath. It was well worth the money paid and I would highly recommend staying here.
Excellent hotel in good quiet location with very friendly and helpful staff. The a/c in the room was quiet which was a bonus. Map provided which was very helpful in finding our way around. We walked down towards the port area and passed the Rossio Station where trains run to local areas - Cascais and Sintra. These trains are unbelievably cheap. Being over 60 we paid only 2.70 euros for a return ticket to Sintra which is a place definitely worth a visit. There are lots of places to visit in Lisbon and the buildings are spectacular. We visited the Castle of St.George which was a steep climb but there are lots of Tuk-Tuks or golf carts to transport you if you are unable to walk up. Would we visit Lisbon again and stay at this hotel ? Definitely.
I travel for business matters most of the time, so my stays at hotels are always short and of course, in a hurry..... but anyway I have always even a short time to to relax a bit. The Marques de Pombal is extremely well located at the Avda da Liberdade, with a very easy access to A-1 motorway, both north or southbound, whichj is the motor way that "crosses" Portugal from North to South...till Lisbon. Apart from the excellent location, a very warm and helpful reception staff (must say I find portuguese people are very kind to foreigners) I got a nice & clean room, more than decent breakfast, and a very reasonable price. I would deffinitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lisbon.
We stayed here for six nights and were very happy with this hotel. It is in a great location, just a 10-15 minute walk from the main hustle and bustle and there is a metro stop right outside for those who are less energetic. We found the hotel to be clean, modern and the staff we encountered very friendly, especially those on front desk who were so helpful with any queries we had about Lisbon. The buffet breakfast was always well stocked and with a good choice. We would happily stay here again. We would have given this hotel 5 stars but often the milk/cream and sugar were not replenished or adequately stocked up and I had to buy hair conditioner as this was not supplied by the hotel. I know this is a small thing but I would expect this in a four star hotel.
Very nice location for visiting the beautiful city of Lisbon. The bar was very pleasant and great selection for breakfast. Rooms are ordinary but nicely appointed. Seems to cater to tour groups but that is not a problem.
