Hotel Alif Campo Pequeno

Due to a lost flight we arrived at 2 in the morning and checked aout at 10. The staff was friendly, the bed and the breakfast good. The hotel is old and at the time undergoing some refurbishment. Some areas are closed for construction works.

A friend and I shared a twin room for three nights. The structure of the hotel is old and tired - while renovations are underway (a noise issue while we were there), our room (supposedly already renovated) had a broken toilet (staff did not respond to a request to fix it until the next day!), and mold in the shower. Wifi is open access, so I was not able to check-in for my flight. I asked the front desk if they had a secure site I could use for this and they said no. We bought Hop on - Hop off bus tour tickets from the front desk, but they sold us tickets to the Busline (Greyline) that stops less often near the hotel (instead of Lisbon Sightseeing) - they made no effort to inform us there were options. Parking was a very *tight* underground area at 8 Euros a day. The breakfast in the B&B package was actually quite good, saving my rating from being one star!

I stayed a week at this hotel. Upon check in I was welcomed with the sound of banging and other construction occurring on my floor and throughout the hotel. Changing rooms is a waste because it can be heard everywhere. I had no idea this was happening during my stay. Why are future guests not forewarned???? The construction is Monday to Friday 10am to 7pm. If you are sightseeing, then you have no worries, but if you are resting it is a huge disturbance and annoyance. The staff was helpful and nice. The location was near the Campo Pequeno subway station. Access to all tourist attractions were very easy to get to via train. The hotel cost was reasonable. The free wifi was good. Our room was an updated one, but very small. I understand that providing modern rooms to all guests requires construction, but guests should receive something in exchange such as a discount, or something. Also, patrons should be notified of this so they can make a more informed decision when choosing their hotel. Especially if, in my case, we have to deal with it for an entire week vs one or two days.

The hotel is currently under renovation so perhaps in some time my comments won't be valid any more. But for now: it is noisy during daytime (drilling etc.), which no-one tells you about until you arrive at the hotel. The rooms are ok but basic. Mine lacked a fridge (there was an obvious spaces marking where it used to be), the ceiling panels were loose and there were holes between them, the bathroom smelled bad (plumbing problems kind of smell). The corridors are rather dark and gloomy. It was indeed rather clean and the staff was polite enough but no fireworks there either. I would wait until the renovation is finished, maybe then it will be ****, right now it's barely **.

There were renovation works going on, yes, but this also happens in other hotels. The price is good, the personnel is friendly and helpfull and the rooms are clean. There's a metro entrance close by to get you into town, and a cheap cab ride brings you to the airport.

Hotel is very old, but there was a lot of construction work going on, so might me better in the future. Almost impossible to take shower in the evening as it was difficult to regulate the water temperature. It worked only in the early morning. Rooms to the street side very noisy! Too expensive for that sort of hotel!

We stayed here with friends so that we could see the sights of Lisbon. The hotel is ok for a few nights but it needs a face lift. I think they may be doing this as the hotel bar was closed while we were there. The room was clean but basic. The location is not great to see Lisbon. It's a trek or a cab ride into town. The hotel does breakfast which was ok but not cheap. You may have to eat breakfast here as we struggled to find anywhere near by to have breakfast. Also, if like me, you need a cuppa to wake up, this is your nearest place. There is no tea and coffee making facilities in the room. There is a hot drink vending machine in reception.

Since few years I have been to this hotel. I have always enjoyed it: cheap, clean, nice service and good breakfast! It is also close to the metro...And if you want to walk to the city centre, it is around 30 minutes and it is a good way to visit Lisbon!

Hotel Ali's well located although a tad out of the tourist zone. We used the 736 bus daily € 1.85 each way to and from the Praca Commercial which we used as a staring point to our day. Hotel old and functional, breakfast poor on the day we visited so we went to the Cafe Londres and the Panaderia Portuguese opp. the Campo Pequeno. Both staffed by English speakers and very friendly and helpful.

We spent here a couple of days , rooms are s bit small but very clean . Staff polite and very helpful . We did not had breakfast included but you can always have it for £8.5 but to be honest there is a lot café around Lisbon and very cheap and you can go and enjoy a good Portuguese breakfast .
