The place is in a great location, walking distance to all the places of interest in Belem, including the best Pastel de Nata bakery, and also near public transit to go to Lisbon Praca du Comercio and historical places nearby. The place is spacious and comfortable. The host was very nice and allowed us to check in earlier. Kitchen is equipped with everything we needed to have breakfast and dinner at home. Would for sure come back when in Lisbon again.

The rooms were large, clean, and quiet. We had a couple technical issues and the host worked hard to resolve them quickly. The location is fabulous. Many nearby restaurants and sightseeing activities all in walkable distance. Laundry on sight (washer only) with a grocery store a block away. Never heard any noise from the street, we could hear the upstairs renters in the early morning hours but it was easy to ignore.

The location was great, the property was in good condition and clean. The stay was good, but it would be nicer with better kitchen tools and cookwares. Also, it would help a lot if the key code and city tax were arranged before arrival, so everything felt smoother.

Nice Apartment with balcony. In a nice neighbourhood close to the tram and bus. Hard beds for us Scandinavians.

Our hostess Mafalda was extremely helpful. The apartment has a wonderful balcony with a fantastic view. The best place I could hope for!

This place is very basic…very bright…but no homey feel at all. We did not get to check in on time as their system was down so we ended up arriving in the dark after our tour and dinner had ended. The foyer has a faint light from upstairs when entering at which point my sister fell because she didn’t see the little step to the landing where the stairs continue. After arriving we found no soap in the bathroom the pillows for the sofa bed had no pillow cases and a waterfall leak under the sink. It’s a good thing the place left a pail to place under it. When we got up in the morning we realized there were only 2 cups to drink coffee for the four of us. With a little care…this place could be awesome!

Superb place for bigger groups in great area

Lovely stay for 5 days at City Stays Balem with family if 5 adults. Apartment had all the necessities and was in a quiet area (with supermarket nearby) and walking distance to Balem Waterfront. Best of all, communication with the ‘host’ was easy by WhatsApp and they managed to support immediately.

We were initially staying in Apartment 0 on the ground floor (honestly, not the best one, as it was at sidewalk level on one side and had a fully enclosed terrace on the other, so the light only came from above). There was a sewage smell in the toilet (I believe it was due to a plumbing issue). In short, we reported the problem and were relocated to the apartment on the second floor. Nothing to complain about there: it was clean, the view matches the photos, the bedding is good. Overall, very, very nice. Communication with the person in charge went very smoothly, and they made the apartment change easy for us.

The apt can use a paint job, cleaner bathroom & shower. Supply of at least one dish towel would be convenient, replacement of frying pan & small supply of laundry detergent & sufficient liquid dish soap would have been helpful.

Except for the bathrooms, the rest of the apartment was immaculately clean and very quiet, with comfortable beds, working amenities. Check in / check out was smooth. Wonderful, helpful manager. Room for improvement - the bathrooms were smelly, probably coming from the drainage system, and could be better equipped with a few simple convenience features such as proper hooks to hang up towels and clothes, shelving to keep toiletries while having a shower, and extra bath linens.

Out stay was pretty good. The size of the couch was good but not the bed. The bed was pretty uncomfortable and small. And also the utilities in the kitchen was pretty poor. But we felt safe and happy.

The apartment was really nice, much bigger than we expected. We are a family of 5 and there was plenty of room. We were there 9 nights and it was cleaned halfway through our stay, which was a pleasant surprise. Two washrooms came in handy with 5 of us. We did a quick load of laundry almost daily and hung it out on the drying rack. Very convenient. Great location, walkable to transit and the main street in Belem. The property owner was lovely and very helpful. Also accommodated us slightly early as we arrived early. Much appreciated!
