Hotel was very clean. Staff friendly and the hotel is central to everything. Breakfast buffet had extraordinary amount of choices. Make sure you have a translation app if you don’t speak Spanish, staff are not fluent in other languages. You nor they don’t need to ..... there’s an app for that!
Unfortunately the location of this hotel was its best feature. Whilst staff were friendly and helpful, rooms were basic and breakfast was average at best. A small cupboard (not a modern wardrobe) for clothes with a safe within. Our room on 3rd floor was larger than the one we previously stayed in on 5th floor. We stayed here before and after a trip to the Amazon and the hotel was very good in storing our luggage, for which I thank them. However, rooms which front onto the street suffer from noise and both times our room was on the front. Breakfast was also a disappointment as items weren’t replenished quickly eg. Milk and bowls for cereal, the coffee machine caused problems for every new guest (largely because they were choosing coffees with milk and it was generally empty) Attention to detail was lacking and because items were missing from place settings, people took them from other tables and exacerbated the problem. It was convenient for our need, had two great restaurants within 20m but on the whole, rather average.
This hotel was right in the heart of Miraflores. The staff were knowledgeable; the breakfasts very good with many choices; the rooms were clean with duvets and great pillows! Easy to walk to great cafes and shops. Taxis are plentiful and very inexpensive to get to museums and other areas. We spend days here before and after the Machu Picchu trip. Go to Lima!
The hotel is a located in a nicer part of the district Miraflores, however that is all positive we can say. Although 4 star the hotel was the least favorite from all hotels we stayed in 3 countries during our trip. Rooms are small and it is a transient hotel for big groups that stay for a night. It was extremely noisy – we did not sleep at all because groups of people were arriving and leaving all night. One could hear doors slamming, inconsiderate people speaking loudly, cars from the streets, etc. We were in many other hotels with big groups but never heard the noise as in this hotel. In the buffet the dishes and cups were sticky at the bottom and food not to par with a 4-star hotel.
This hotel is fantastic. When I entered the hotel the bellboys were very welcoming and the same for the reception. The safety box did not work and they immediately gave me another room. I stayed here a couple of nights before my trip through Peru and I stayed a couple of nights after my trip through Peru. The rooms are comfortable, the beds are perfect. The location of the hotel is great, just walk out and you are in a very good part of Lima. Lots of restaurants, shopping and ten minute walk to the ocean where there is more shopping and restaurants. It is also near a beautiful park, park Kennedy. Thanks to the friendly people of this hotel who treated me awesome I wish I could come back there soon.
This hotel needs to do something about their doors. They are so loud! And it is not because of people as I tried many times to close my own door quietly and it was impossible. Wifi signal was very weak. Staff at front desk are friendly and do try to help but their English is pretty limited. They should also update their room key system. They have those real keys with a big tag with your room number. As a woman travelling alone, that is a security concern. On the good side, the location is pretty good with walking distance to beach, Miraflores and Kennedy Park.
The hotel is located right in the middle of Miraflores with walking distance to the kennedy cat park (5min), the other parks and to the Larcomar shopping center (10min). There's plenty of restaurants and bars in that area, too. The hotel rooms are clean and spacious (rooms are different depending which room you get which we were pretty surprised about). The breakfast buffet is good with various choices. The staff is friendly and helpful. We stayed in two different rooms and both were very cold (altough there's air conditioning / heater which didn't work properly) and you hear everything! We woke up several times because of the street or other loud noises in the hotel.
I had the good fortune of staying at this local chain hotel while on business. I found the staff, especially the general manager, Sra. Mara, extremely attentive to all my needs, business and personal. The hotel is in a wonderful location, within easy walking distrance of the coastline and restaurants in Miraflores. I highly recommend it for either business or pleasure.
Good, standard "meat and potatoes" place with a servicable restaurant. Nothing special really but within walking distance of the main tourist attractions of Miraflores. Quite a bit of ambient noise from the street and from other guests moving around in the early morning. Our booking was part of a tour so I can't comment on value for money. Probably best for one or two nights only.
Without doubt the reception staff at Hoteles San Agustin are the rudest and most obstructional I have ever dealt with. They think nothing of lying to customers. We stayed here as part of a package to the Amazon, which meant we needed to deal with the check-in staff twice, and so my comments are not directed to an individual but to the culture of the hotel. We requested a double bed. On the first stay we got to our room around midnight to find it was two singles. A phone call to reception was met with that is what we requested (wrong) and then when I insisted that we had not I was firstly told we could just use one bed and when I pointed out that was silly instructed to call back in 5 minutes. Given it had been a long day and we had an early start the next morning I simply gave up. Next time I asked the staff before accepting the key did the room have a double bed, and she assured me it did. Got to the room to find twin beds. Down to reception to be told there are no double beds available. I refused to believe this and stood my ground. Suddenly speaking English became an issue but by simply refusing to accept their lies I finally was allocated a double bed after about one hour. During this time I watched other customers attempt to deal with the reception staff who initially ignored them and only acknowledged their presence when the customer actively addressed them. None of this “can I help you” here. There were three staff there and all three treated customers with the same disdain. Some may think I am being picky but the point is I want what I had requested and paid for and I do not like being lied to. Others in the group had a similar experience with the hotel reception staff. The rooms themselves are dated (recall that I stayed in two and viewed another). The hotel has the audacity to charge 6 sols for water, elsewhere in Peru this was included with the room and the local supermarket sells this for 1.1 sol. Sound proofing is poor – we could clearly hear other guests leaving early in the morning. The mattress was very hard. Breakfast was a buffet and was OK. My advice is to avoid this hotel at all costs. If you must stay here be prepared to be treated like dirt, lied to and/or ignored. If something is not right be prepared for a long fight.
