Sheraton Lima Hotel & Convention Center4.5 out of 5.0

This hotel is overall very nice, but I personally did not prefer the location as a first time visitor to Lima. It is, however, close to Miraflores, a much nicer/more residential neighborhood. (By taxi, it's about 15 minutes away.) If location isn't a factor, this hotel is very nice, safe, and fine to stay in. However, if you do care about location and want to be near shops and restaurants, I would not recommend staying here. The hotel itself --> As an SPG member I was able to get a room upgrade, which was very nice and clean with a view of the city. I also received great service in the Club Lounge, which had breakfast and some appetizers and drinks in the afternoon/evening. The staff was very friendly!
The service at every level (particularly front desk) and rooms lives upto the expectation of the brand Sheraton. Also being a SPG member its even better with free upgrade, drink and points. The rooms are beautifully done and gives a royal feel. The breakfast was little disappointing because of the options available and also the sitting area. Also the lobby sofas are quite old and uncomfortable.
Stayed overnight since I had an event to attend in the hotel in the evening. The hotel was clean, spacious, the exercise room had everything one needed to get a good workout in, the internet speed was excellent. . Hotel staff were courteous and a pleasure to deal with. Checkin and checkout went without a hitch.
We were so happy with our stay here. It's close to the Old Town and not too far from Miraflores by taxi. We can't get over the outstanding level of service that the Guest Service Manager Gianfranco Bassanini gave us during our stay. Our luggage had broken on the flight and he walked with us to the mall next door and helped us buy a new one. He also helped us buy a SIM card, helped book our flight to Cusco the next day and recommended a great city tour and delicious restaurant for dinner in Miraflores. Gianfranco gave us an amazing start to our honeymoon and his kind and friendly nature was so welcoming - we felt we had known him for years! We can't thank Gianfranco enough and recommend the Sheraton to anyone to stay in Lima!
The hotel may not be located in the famous MiraFlores district but it is right off the highway in downtown district so great accessibility. You can just walk to the main square in downtown and has an amazing vibe. Shopping mall right beside the hotel so can never complain :) Hotel amenities are fantastic! Totally recommend this hotel for your stay in Lima!
Sheraton is very centrally located, approximately 30 mins from the airport right next to a large shopping area. The streets are extremely busy with traffic. The hotel itself is very well kept. The rooms are nice and beds are comfy. The building is an old prison and when you arrive in your floor you can immediately can see the layout of the building. We had an overnight here as it is located just slightly nearer to the airport and also close to few shops. Good standard hotel.
Booked into Sheraton by the airline (Latam) after a cancelled flight due to weather at the destination. Having spent the previous night in a genuine 5 Star (Swissotel) the comparison was almost startling. Room, although well appointed, clean and tidy, was far smaller. Unfortunately I was allocated an adjoining room with noisy and inconsiderate neighbours! Decor dated. Well overdue for redecorating / refurbishment. Buffet lunch and dinner extremely dissapointing, the latter appeared to consist mostly of recycled lunch dishes. "Service" in the restaurant was poor / reluctant. Personal Rating: 6/10 Would I stay there again: No!
Hotel location is ideal if you want to visit city center with using public transportation or taxi. However, the lobby is extremely loudy especially in the night when it seems to be constant party! Rooms can be loudy since the hotel is situated in a very central place and the traffic noise is disturbing. Rooms are quite comfortable though they need to work on the cleaniliness.
Landed in Lima at 1am so got to the hotel around 2am and immediately crashed. The hotel was great for what we needed it for and close to a big mall. Also - yes its not up to date by any means but for the price that did not matter, I would stay here again.
The highlight is the staff (particularly an excellent concierge) that really try to make your stay a good one. The masseuses that work in the spa are excellent. The amenities are good to very good (nice gym, nice saunas- though I wish they weren't separated by gender), there was also a pool that was closed for cool weather). We had an awful time during check-in (there was a huge group incoming... they often get large groups from airlines). But, the hotel more than made up for it during our 5-night stay. They really made us comfortable in the days to follow. I wished there were more vegetarian options during breakfast, so that was slightly disappointing. As to the neighborhood..... this is important..... I recommend tourists stay in Miraflores and not here. This is an interesting neighborhood and we enjoyed it (its right next door to a mall, and important and attractive government buildings are directly across the street). But, overall, the neighborhood was not very nice, and unless you have a reason to be in this area I would recommend staying in Miraflores if you're a tourist. That said, this hotel IS kinda centrally located between the airport, some downtown attractions, and the heart of tourism in Miraflores and thereabouts. We really enjoyed the room. Nice size, nicely done, attractive and comfortable. There was construction going on all over (club lounge, business center, main lobby, etc) - and while I feel that maybe they should have perhaps done one renovation at a time to minimize guest interference- it was nice to see them make some needed and attractive improvements.
