Stayed here a number of times on business, opposite the station for eurostar, short walk to town for bars restaurants and shops. Good breakfast and coffee. Expansive for drinks. The shower took some working out through with having to pull the bath spout down to get it to work. Air con in the rooms and luggage store. Small gym and sauna no pool and station for runners with fruit and water and maps for runs
We have just enjoyed a great weekend in Lille and it was only enhanced by staying at the Crowne Plaza. We had executive room 810 and enjoyed spectacular views across the city. The hotel is perfect for Eurostar passengers, being literally just a hop across the road. Thankfully the double glazing does the job and there is very little noise from outside. The reception staff were extremely helpful, and even booked us in early at no extra cost at 9.35am! The room was large, nicely designed and very comfortable. The bed was sumptuous and we simply couldn't fault the room, it was spotless. We enjoyed the "extras" like chocolates on our pillows and sprays to help us sleep. Breakfast was adequate with a good selection and friendly staff. Housekeeping was discreet and thorough. On checking out, 3 days later, the checkout was seamless and swift and the hotel were happy to look after our cases for us for the day giving us an extra few hours to explore. We really couldn't fault our stay and despite the hotel being part of a huge chain, the service we received was second to none and more than exceeded our expectations.
We had arrived from Paris to Lille I was eating breakfast with my husband and the restaurant was completely packed. I kept my purse on my chair behind me and was relaxed as I was in the hotel and not at the station. After ordering our coffee to the waiter, I looked behind and my purse was not there. In the span of few minutes my purse had disappeared. I panicked, I looked around, asked everyone but no one had any clue. It had mine & my husband’s passport, money and cards. Everything was gone. After seeing the CCTV, a man well suited, stole my purse and even he was eating breakfast on some other table. The manager did mention it to us that we have seen this man several times in this hotel. This hotel is not safe at all. Please anyone staying here or coming here to eat food, be careful. Advise - avoid staying in this hotel.
We were here one night only and arrived late on the Eurostar so super convenient being over the road. It's a stylish hotel, room was nice but my main issue is it must have been designed by a man! not one plug near a mirror. There was a big desk but no mirror nearby (only on the wardrobe & in the bathroom - where normal socket not allowed). So a right pain blow-drying and straightening my hair. Breakfast was fine, good buffet choice. It was pretty expensive at 171 euro's too.
Spent 2 nights here. The staff at check in were excellent, very helpful. The restaurant was closed the first night we were there because of low numbers in the hotel but they offerred table service in the bar area which was fine. The bar/service staff were excellent and even though not all had s great grasp of English, were very helpful. The rooms are comfortable, a good size and the beds very nice. Hotel is about 20 metres from Lille Europe railway station for the TGV so very convenient. Breakfast had a very good selection, was well prepared and fresh. Well recommended hotel.
Hotel is just besides gare lille europe literally a few doorsteps away. Very convenient and the mall Euralille is also very near. Hotel Staff are good and eager to help. Room is spacious and breakfast is just nice.
Nice, comfortable and clean large rooms Great location. We were there for a week of World War 1 tours. Close to trains, Vieux Lille and highways. Well situated for World War 1 tours Excellent breakfast (included in our price). Special thanks to Claire and the General Manager.
The good things - the staff were polite and friendly, the room was exceptionally quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel is very handy if you are arriving by Eurostar, but the number of beggars you come across on the walk into Lille can be off-putting. It's best to cut through the station and then across to the Eurolille shopping centre. The bad things- the room decor was very tired - to the extent of coffee stains up the wallpaper, a flaking ceiling, cup rings on the desk and table, flaking veneer on the furnishings and across the edge of the bath. The carpet had also seen much better days and there were mascara stains on one of the pillow slips on the bed. Add to this that the room service menu appeared to have been smeared all over with jam.... I had gone down with a migraine, so was in no fit state to complain - although I did take the offending room service menu down to reception when I was checking out. Not so bad was the breakfast - but it is distinctly average, so unless it is in your rate I would suggest that you eat elsewhere. I cannot comment on the quality of any other meals, since I only had breakfast. I stay in IHG hotels a lot and was really surprised at the state of the room on this occasion- I hope that I was just unlucky and was placed in a room that is due to be refurbished.
We stayed here for two nights with our family and really wished we had gone elsewhere! The rooms were really nice, with lovely touches such as This Works pillow spray on the bed on arrival. They were spacious and had nice bathrooms...but our first night was spoilt by a terrible drain smell that was so bad we had to close the plug hole. The Hotel did manage to fix this by the time we returned the next evening, however. The Hotel itself is right in the middle of a very busy Eurostar station and while it is suited to business travel, it's not so good for leisure as it was noisy outside - although on the second night it was the weekend and quieter. What really put us off was the fact that despite notifying this four star Hotel in advance of our arrival about my son's peanut allergy there was absolutely no help in accommodating this at breakfast and he literally couldn't eat anything as they went through what was available and even the bacon, eggs etc were all cooked in peanut oil. The only thing we managed to find was an individual packet of cereal that had allergy information on. When we complained and said we didn't expect to be charged for breakfast we were told they would charge us for two breakfasts, even though we hardy ate anything ourselves as we didn't want to eat while my son couldn't! Anyway, we decided to forgo breakfast there the next day and go to Mcdonald's instead! I would never go back to the hotel and was left dissatisfied with our experience on what was otherwise an enjoyable trip.
Not fantastic, place is "on" the station, but rather quiet. Why on Earth are bathrooms with transparent walls ?? Breakfast is ok, and walking distance from center of Lille. Good for a short stay but not more than that.
