First time hear for me but the teacher has been for the last 10 years and for the grope it's very good the staff are very friendly and helpful the rooms clean and tidy and the food was very good what more do you need it's not 5 star but it's very good for this size of hotel . (As the driver of the coach)
Stayed here for one night while watching England Vs Wales in Lens. Nice hotel and it seems like it mostly caters for business people given the decor and general vibe. The rooms were clean, pretty spacious and the bed was comfy. The staff were really friendly and there is a nice sized restaurant and a nice lounge area where we just chilled out and watched tv and ate our dinner. I've put an extra star on the rating as the pizzas we had in the evening were really tasty and you get a lot for your money.. All in all a really good little hotel. There wasn't really anything to gripe about. The guy on reception even used good discretion not to allow two Russians to stay, even though they offered more money then the room was worth and got a bit angry at him. Obviously with the previous issues between England and Russia fans, having them both stay in a hotel together wouldn't have been a good idea, so fair play to the chap for turning away money to ensure no trouble. He also wouldn't serve us booze before 12, not ideal for us but he didn't cave in to our requests so again good integrity. The hotel isn't really in Lille but since we had private transfers it didn't really matter. In truth it was only 15 mins drive away from the station so I guess still handy for business people working in Lille.
I went to Lille in August and it was a bank holiday, so I booked this hotel without realising how far it was from Lille Centre and on top of that, there wasn`t public transport on that day. If you are on bussiness trip and have a car, this is the place for you.
This hotel has been revamped since the last time we stayed and it is really lovely, the rooms are comfortable 2 pillows each nice bonus,we ate in the restaurant in the evening there was a good selection of fresh food on the buffet nice atmosphere in this hotel, staff very friendly and helpful.
Stayed on a weekend, is a cheap Monday to Friday hotel. 20 minute walk to the nearest restaurants. Basic and functional. If the location is on your route and you are looking for a cheap place to crash, go for it! Mostly empty and with few facilities
Our last stop before travelling to Calais for the Eurotunnel. Booked last minute, the night before & chosen to avoid city centre traffic in Lille. The hotel is situated on the edge of an industrial site & I suspect is mainly used by people who are working or have business in the area - there is nothing around to visit or walk to & I believe the metro or bus stop is a 20 min walk away. No lift & 50 steps to reach our top floor room, which was more of a garret, only sloping skylights in the roof. Squeezing the shower in was a feat of engineering, only very basic facilities, cigarette burns in the carpet but overall, clean enough. The corridors are lined with painted boards, reminiscent of street art/ graffiti, very odd. Breakfast ( the usual continental style) was adequate & plentiful plus there seemed to be a lot of people present, about to set off for work - this was not included in the price & cost €10pp. The staff were wonderfully pleasant & helpful & I do not wish to knock this place as it appears to be providing a necessary service in the area -it was just a wrong choice on my part.
We were very well treated. The duty manager has worked hard to differentiate this hotel from others. Some excellent (and sometimes) unusual wines were on offer as well as a diverse choice of whiskeys. If you find yourself at a loose end in lille, you would be hard pushed to find better hospitality, a good selection of wines and a very knowledgeable (helpful and passionate) duty manager.
This was a quick Bank Holiday weekend break with two friends in Lille, France. We booked in at this hotel after discovering the Comfort Hotel we had booked via the internet on booking.com was not the hotel we thought it was. It was too far away from the centre and we thought we had booked one much nearer because one of our party can't walk too far. Whether this was ours or booking.com's fault I don't know but we managed to get the booking cancelled and found two more rooms at this hotel. The rooms were fine and we went out to see the town of Lille via the bus to the metro station about 1km away. On our return at around 9.30pm to the metro station we lost our bearings and only found our way back to the hotel when a kindly couple drove us back to the hotel in two trips. My wife and her friend went first and got to the hotel at 10.20pm but the night man refused to serve them a drink saying the bar shut at 10.30pm. When we arrived 10 minutes later he flatly refused to open the bar despite the very helpful man on reception during the day telling us the bar would be open till 11pm. This happened again on the second night when the night man shut the bar dead on 10.30pm again. Generally speaking hotel bars can stay open as long as they want so why he was being a jobsworth was beyond us. His couldn't care less attitude and distinctly unfriendly behaviour and attitude were exactly the opposite of the rest of the staff who were clearly embarrassed by their colleague's bloody-mindedness. So much so they discounted our room rate by 10 per cent and reduced the price of the breakfasts. The day reception chaps were very good, very friendly and efficient - just what good hotel staff should be. We think that the Comfort Hotel management should reward them for their professionalism and friendliness as nothing was too much for them. Sadly the same can't be said about the night man who frankly shouldn't be working there as he is really not cut out for the hospitality industry. Anyway that said this hotel is clean, well priced and is near the bus and metro stations. Four stops and you are in the heart of the lovely city. We enjoyed our continental breakfasts and free parking. So we would recommend this hotel to business travellers and tourists alike. Just don't expect to get a drink after 10.30pm - although we sincerely hope this man won't be in posiition much longer to impose his views on guests. We have marked down the service purely and solely because of him - the rest of the staff, who you will probably encounter the most, are fantastic.
Me and my husband stayed here a few weeks ago we had a great time during our stay! The first night Edouard at the front desk gave us a lots of great information about city even draw a map for us where to go! Also he kindly offered us a pair of wine tasting conference tickets, it means a lot to us, and we went to the conference next day it was brilliant! On way back to the uk my husband find out that he forgot his mobile phone in the hotel room but it was too late to go back for it! We quickly got to phone box and called the hotel yes they got the phone And the offer to post back, few days later we got are phone back ! It was amazing experience with the hotel comfort we will definitely stay here again! Thanks!!
I stayed in October 2012 for a WW1 Battlefields Tour organised by Newmarket Holidays. The hotel itself was very good for breakfast and the evening bar, and my room was clean and comfortable. The reason for my low rating is the absence of weekend dinner facilities. This is hotel policy: it does not change even when 40 guests would happily have dinner there on both Saturday and Sunday night! Eating anywhere else is difficult, time consuming, and most unwelcome after being out all day without even a chance to freshen up beforehand.
