Reception area looks ok. Then you realise the hotel is not four star!!!! Extra small lift for two only! Rooms ancient. Windows ready to fall out. The draft through the windows blow the curtains. Single glazed next to motorway. Bathrooms ancient. Ours had mould along bath edge and taps were filthy. Pillows minuscule and when we asked for another we were asked why as we already had a pillow. Breakfast was lovely albeit cramped with two coaches all wanting their food. Why oh why are Shearings still using this Hotel???
Just the job for my 4 night stay away. The staff were friendly and welcoming the rooms were clean and the food was very nice. I will be staying there again when I am in the area and just a short drive to Liege.
Was here for one night with some colleagues. Because we had half board, we could not choose from the menu, but from a separate card. The menu was literately pulled from my hands! Very rude behavior of the waitress! We left to have diner somewhere else. The room and the bed were okay, however the shower was old and musty. Water temperature not constant and after showering total floor was wet.
We only stayed here for one night on our way to Austria. We were disappointed to have limited time to eat in the restaurant so did not. We did however notice that you could get chips etc. in the bar - unfortunately we did not eat here either as the bar-man was serving drinks as well as doing the food, after about an hour we finally managed to get a drink each. More staff are needed in this hotel, it seemed people were doing multiple tasks which meant none were done speedily. Would we stay again, not if given the choice.
We have stayed in the Globales post Hotel several times four in fact the last time was 24th September overnight on our way to Austria it was comfortable big rooms clean buffet breakfast was adequate , we stayed here on our way back with a Shearings tour.
I used this hotel as a stop off on a longer journey that I was doing when away on business in October. Unfortunately I didn’t get to spend too long at the hotel but my impressions of it were that I was very impressed. The staff were friendly and the food was good. The bar is a little pricy but that is to be expected when you are so far out of the town. It was ideal for me as it is close to the motorway but I would note that it is a way out of town if you are wanting to go into town.
Nice overnight hotel on a road trip to Austria from UK! Bar/restaurant was very nice and cosy with an excellent standard of food and drink! Our room was comfortable for an overnight stay, breakfast was buffet style and very good.Nothing bad to say swimming and spa facilities looked good but did not try them.Parking was good and very handy for the motorway.
We stopped here for one night going to Austria then one night on the way back home,on a Shearings coach trip.on the outward journey it was bed and breakfast. The room was clean with comfy twin beds, tv and coffees ,teas and a kettle in the room. The breakfast was excellent with all your usual cereals, breads, cheeses , hams and cooked breakfast. Also a large bowl of lovely fresh fruit. On the way home we had a very large room with a very comfy kingside bed. This journey was dinner bed and breakfast. We arrived very late at night (2 coachloads) so were eating a 3 course meal at 10pm. Even so the staff were very pleasant. The food was excellent, in fact it was the best meal we had all holiday. Beautiful tomato soup, chicken breast, chips, peas, carrots and a lovely onion gravy, then chocolate mousse. The drinks are quite expensive at €7 for 2 halves of shandy. But overall we had no complaints about the hotel and would recommend it.There was just one thing which did annoy us, on the outward journey the porter came to get the cases off the coach. He thought it was great fun to open the luggage doors at both sides of the coach then stand at the back and hurl the cases out so they came whizzing across and crashing on the ground. I think had a few of us not shouted at him he would have done it with them all.
Not a bad place for our last night, 3 coaches in so very busy but the staff were efficient and pleasant especially our barman who introduced me to a nice little, well large wine called Muscat. Food was very palatable. Rooms were clean, comfortable and a fine place to lay your head. The down part noisy customers in corridor and the wrong side of Brussels. 3 hours to get round the ring road on our way to the shuttle. Not the hotels fault of course.
Stayed overnight twice, once on the way to Austria with Shearings and on the return journey. The check in both times was done very efficiently. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We didn't have an evening meal on the return journey as we arrived at 9-30 at night. Breakfast was ok with a reasonable choice. The downside was that too many people were crammed into a small area.
